Good games! Yeah, the DC... Was actually my iPod finally dying, lol. That's what I get for not keeping it charged enough. We had a long, close set though. There's always time for another one soon.
Yea I can't do it consistently too... The manual ultra inputs just feel wrong on volts but fine when I play AE For example, focus dash forward then ultra is easy... but when you focus cancel that from a move the ultra just won't come out as expected... Anyways that was a SP ON only combo I found in a Japanese rep. Just sharing it here for the sake of sharing lol
For me, focus dash forward into a charge ultra is easy pointing left, but way harder pointing right (idk why...). Rog's cancels are on hit for both dash straight and the overhead, but I realized after trying your combo that I was using the proximity of Rog to the opponent ,rather than the hit, to time the cancel. It took me a while to realize what was wrong with canceling the overhead. The combo could be practical, and even useful for a comeback, if Rog wasn't dashing back so far away after every cancel (so we could do like we do with Chun or Guile). It's just impressive. On the other hand, it is useful to have such a backdash too. We can still fadc forward to cr.lp x2, which gives plenty of time to combo into a very damage scaled ultra though. Another thing: I tried AE's Rog's combo into knockdown (cr.lp cr.lp st.lp cr.hp), but it doesn't seem to work and I don't see it in the combo compilation. It's very unfair as many characters maintain it from AE and Rog would be the one benefiting the least anyhow.
balrog can't combo into sweep w/o counter hit in volt b/c his st lp is the close one and not the far one
Balrog's far LP is so good in AE you can link it to Ultra. FADCing the overhead just to do a hitconfirm is a waste, since you can just link cr.LK afterwards. If you have good reactions, you can do overhead xx super as a reset. Actually on the topic of left/right sided problems, I found tilting my iphone ton the left helps me quite a bit with execution and hitting those directions precisely
What do you mean? Do you tilt it when doing the move in a precise moment? This is interesting. I assume we all use the left thumb to move. The two natural directions it has are the one describing a piece of a circle around the hand (using the muscle that angles with the other fingers), and the one determined by flexing its own muscles. In my case, these directions are oriented with the diagonals of the stick, rather than the axis. It could be that leaning the phone a bit orients the horizontal axis with the thumb.
When I do combo vids, I just hold the device at a slight angle. I guess due to the motion of the thumb not being able to go perfectly horizontal. It made it a heck of a lot easier to do (EX) Sonic Boom, Ultra
649 on CH, 624 no CH Ultra (as far as posible just 1-2 frames forward), Jump teleport behind, J.hk, super (After super is over ultra will connect completely)
Yes it ended due to the small attendance and support. I still have some tourneys i havent uploaded i might upload them later. Like 2-3 more.
Ultra, Yoga Blast xx Super is 645 no CH I will also point out that every Dhalsim does this wrong, but when you do Ultra, Super, it does more damage if you do the super on the last hit of the Ultra
Without CH, 650 damage Ultra from far away, Jump teleport behind J.hk, st.hk, ultra hits, yoga blast, super With CH 675
