When you are on street fighter iv volt main menu, there is a button that says Team Ranking Battle and it takes you to the BN (Battle Network). There you can chat with other players at the public timeline, post at any players personal page, join teams, upload replays (unlimited space), check out other players replays and download them, among other things. So on the Stats tab you go down and go to the section that says Search Replays by player Name and type TenOnez. Be warned, 90 percent of his replays on the BN are replays of him loosing cause he doesnt post many replays, so whenever someone beats him they post it cause its obviously rare to see him loose. If you want to check out his replays go to your Main Profile page on BN go to the bottom and press Search player then type his name and look at the replays he has on his profile. photanics and n3ro209 are also very good Rog players but they photanic changes his name very often.
Go to TenOnez BN profile and download the videos there. TenOnez has about a 10-1 w/l ratio and probably higher if you take into all the RQs he gets.
My highest record on ranked was a 5:1 win ratio, not counting all the RQs. But I would always leave if I lost a few matches and would stay forever if I was winning, so it's a little lopsided. Now that I'm just playing for fun and not caring as much, it's only 3:1. Which is weird, because I'm way better now than I was back then. I've always secretly wanted to go back and try to beat my old ratio but that would require going back to playing ranked, and that shit ain't happenin' any time soon.
What do you mean the second rekka? Isn't the setup, pretty much just mashing ultra after the first hit of rekka? the cr.LK as far as I can tell are there just to make people wanna mash
down + K (cr.LK), down + K (cr.LK), SP (first Rekka), P (second Rekka), Ultra, SP (third Rekka). If the first Rekka trades, you won't get the second one and you'll get Ultra instead. This OS is for when you're sure that you'll hit the opponent. cr.LK, cr.LK, Rekka, Ultra would be for when you're not sure if it will hit or not. If in this case is blocked, you get a better frame advantage than by using creampuff's/KB's OS. If it trades, you still get the Rekka, Ultra. But if it hits without trade, you'll only get Rekka. Cool one creampuff, and nice Makoto videos BTW.
That's pretty cool. I'm pretty bad and just mash buttons for the most part so option selects are a mystery to me. I've never seen anyone use this but seems like its very useful.
Im still confused. Wasn't the blue fei the dummy one? So u mean u have already pressed ultra after second rekka but it doesn't show when it doesn't trade?
Yup, it's the dummy. At the start of the video cream recorded the OS (down + K, down + K, SP, P, Ultra, SP) and then he showed how without trading you would get the 3 Rekkas, and with trading you would get the Ultra after the first Rekka. And exactly, when it doesn't trade you won't get Ultra but the second (and third if pressed) Rekka, on both hit and block.
You can see the white circle when he presses ultra while recording with the dummy. Since its an OS ultra will not come out unless it trades.
Cool guys! But it's my first time here to hear about this option select thing. Can anyone explain briefly the benefits of OS and how to use it?
Option Select is basically an input or some that gets you one or other move depending on the circumstances. The most basic OS of Volt is f+P/b+P. If your opponent can be thrown, you'll get a throw, and otherwise you'll get the normal with that input. Then you also have db+P, which would score a tech throw if the opponent tries to grab you or the move with that input. With two inputs you have things like down+K, QCF+ P (fast) for chars like Ryu, Akuma, etc. You would only get the Hadouken (QCF + P) if down + K hits. Otherwise you will only whiff the cr.MK. This would seem useless to SP-on users since we don't have to buff moves, but this OS is very basic for SP-off users to avoid dropping things and such due to bad reaction time. And then you have some OS with long inputs in both block and hit like that from cream. The benefits depend on the OS you're using. cream's OS input for Fei can only benefit you since in the case of hitting the enemy clean you'll get 3 Rekkas, and with a trade you'd get Ultra after the first Rekka. Without the Ultra OS you would get 3 Rekkas without trade or nothing with trade.
An option select is when you do the inputs for two moves at once, and the one that comes out is determined by what your opponent does. In this example, fei is doing the inputs for both rekka and ultra, and the one that ends up happening is determined by whether the opponent tried attacking or not. If the opponent pressed attack, ultra will come out and it will connect. If the opponent did not press attack, rekkas will come out. It's advantageous because it lets you cover two options at once, and therefore limit the moves your opponent can do. I heard one person describe it as "playing both rock and scissors at the same time." If the opponent plays scissors, your rock comes out. If the opponent plays paper, your scissors come out. Their only option is to play rock, and that ends in a tie with your rock. You're at an advantage in every way.
