I started watching the video and then I realized it was almost an hour long:eek:

Right on the page though, they call it a defensive style.

In the part I did watch you will notice that they don't use the term lame as a negative but as a descriptor for a certain play style. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is nothing wrong with playing lame, it is a valid strategy to use, I just don't find it fun, whether it's playing against someone who is playing lame or if it's myself that is playing lame.

Wish Sagat could do this in Volt.

So I came across this Akuma called "hadoualex"

It's been a while since I have played against as good as this Akuma. So perfect in zoning using fire spams. He freaked the hell out of my nerve and I felt really hopeless. My Feilong has been most of the time a good match up for Akuma but this Akuma, OMG, I couldn't find answer for it :mad::eek:

I'd actually be quite interested if you gave some pointers on playing vega.

Leonel calls you the top vega and he doesn't give many compliments. I think he once told me I was almost as good as hieu once, I may have been dreaming though

Some of the best advice would just be the exact same advice you'd give for every other character.

"Learn the spacings and speeds of all their normals, so you can play footsies well."

"Learn their easiest combos and their most damaging combos, and when to use which."

"Switch between grabs, pokes, jumps, and blocking for meaty mixups, and keep them guessing on wakeup."

But I suppose I can elaborate a little bit.

Cr.mp is a great way to keep opponent's out, and cosmic heel is a great way to get yourself in. Keep yourself charged whenever you do normals so that you can follow them up with ex Barcelona or scarlet terror on hit. Avoid using slide as a poke, even from far range, because it's easily punishable.

Learn Barcelona well. Learn how to control where you are in the air, and where you're going to land. Learn how to land izuna drops well, even against moving opponents. And then use it for mind games. Feint/run away half the time, so they don't know when they should go for a counter. And whenever they take the bait and whiff a counter, be prepared to punish it fast (ex Barcelona and ultra are both full screen. Slide and cosmic heel for close up.)

Hop over opponents with cosmic heel after a hard knockdown to either break their charge or confuse them. This can also make your opponent do the wrong ex special move if you cause their inputs to be reversed. Switch up which wall you fly to with Barcelona to keep the opponent on their toes, and to break their charges.

You have to learn to anticipate opponent jumps. Cosmic heel trades when done late, so you have to use it when you THINK the opponent is going to jump and catch them early. Same thing with air grab, you have to predict their jumps. Ultra and ex scarlet terror are the only good AAs that can be done really late.

Flip dodge is an ok wakeup option, but not against awesome players who are looking for it. It's also good as a bait tool. Your opponent has an srk and two bars? Close in on them after a hard knockdown, and then use it when they wake up. If you're that close to them, they see no danger in mashing out srk, because they can just FADC it! WRONG! Now they whiffed it and you get a full punish!

Mind games and mixups. Try your best to confuse the opponent. What are you gonna do during a Barcelona? They should have to guess. What are you gonna do following a blocked cosmic heel? They should have to guess. What are you going to do when they wake up? They should have to guess. It's not always going to be a safe option, but you have to show no fear.

EDIT: I forgot to mention one more thing. For some characters, matchups are less important, and you can use the same strategies regardless of who you're facing. Vega is not one of those characters. You have to learn the character matchups very well, because most of the characters require a different strategy to beat them. You basically have to play Vega a different way against every different character. (Against Sagat you fly all the time, against makoto you never fly. Against bison you cross over and attack with no fear, against guile you cross over and then feint. Against Leonel you walk to the corner, sit down and cry for twenty minutes.)

Hi Punk. GGs bro. Ur Gief beat me 5 times

Unfortunately the lagging problem gives my Feilong a very tough time. We should play against each other and train more. Btw, where is your i letter if you are from iTEAM team ?!

Ggs! Hr! I forgot how good your Cody was!

Sorry for the scrubby play with my secondaries. At least I got one win with my sim:D (just a reminder, I play him off/off).

I rarely run into so I went 15 and I'm sweating!

Oh and I was super salty about that viper ultra KO:|

    I hope I wasn't too lame for you~

I know you play off/off, that's why I take advantage of you with Vega's EX Sky High Claw off the opposite wall... hehe

I don't mind playing against secondaries; I will pick to match accordingly. Your blanka is too annoying anyway

You have some annoying frame traps with your DeeJay now, you are playing him like your blanka with that slide, EX Jackknife Maximum/Vertical Roll
