all good in SF4, but Volt still has no love :(

A cool chance for an iOS update/new app, though.

C'mon, it's Capcom. For $15, you'll get the update. For $38.99, you can get the standalone version with all the costumes.

Seriously? I hope not! I have ready bought sfiv and AE on multiple systems, some full price and others were upgrades. I shouldn't be jipped like that:(

    OT

Does ken|ken post here any more? We got matched up the other night and the games were really close and I wanted to upload them but I wanted his permission first.

All this EVO hype about the AE update is awesome. It also gives me hope that we might be heard and capcom might do an update for us

Here's something I've known for a while, but wanted to know if it was true for any other characters:

When vega uses cr.mk on akuma at full range, if akuma hits it with his regular srk, only the first hit will connect and the rest of the srk will whiff, leaving vega crouching and safe with plenty of time to set up a full punish. This means regular srk is no longer a viable wakeup option for akuma. Vega's options on a waking akuma who has no meter are:

    • cr.mk, if srk'ed then follow up with a full punish
    • cr.mk, if it hits then follow up with cr.mp xx ex Barcelona.
    • cr.mk, if akuma teleports either direction, punish it with ex Barcelona.

In other words, cr.mk is a safe option against everything except ex srk. I wanted to know if any other characters had similar moves against akuma's srk? A move that will make the srk whiff its second and third hits and leave you with time for a full punish?

Viper's cr.mk does that too vs Akuma and Ken's srk.

chun-li stand mid punch, its because of the range and the push back the move provides

I guess that's another reason Ryu is so strong.

Akuma is no problem for me I play Yun too, Sagat is a pain tiger knee stops whatever I do... For Akuma you just need to be patient and corner them or wait until they flip forward. ALWAYS BE READY TO PRESS SP when u see a jump back, coz they will most likely do an air fireball so u can dash under and close the gap. Once u corner him it is all about keeping him there, and he will need to jump, flip, or teleport out... watch for these and counter them then the life advantage is yours. Don't get too jumpy coz Yun is not Cammy you can't divekick those ultras unless u do them after his activation. Use (ex) Shoulder to get around ground fireballs and dash punch to go under air fireballs is the key in this match. Akuma spam is no threat to Yun but Akuma pressure (rare on BN) is actually a threat, they just don't know how to pressure XD

EDIT: crouching medium kick into fireball is mostly NOT a true block-string for Akuma so if he abuses it, u can shoulder through and cancel that into Genei Jin for massive damage and comebacks.

    Akuma vs my Yun: http://sf4iv-en.capcom.jp/analytics/replay_download.php?r_id=20130707_00490726_329_F5EF94BE_rpdata&d=

u need to watch how TenOnez fights BxPope (Sagat) that was the best Yun play I have ever seen, everything was punished spot on. Rep can be found on his BN page, I'm sure u know who TenOnez is. All I can suggest now is that, there is a delayed divekick angle that Tiger Uppercut will whiff and u can kinda abuse that on wake up :D

Oh man, I was just playing BxPope earlier tonight . All it did was remind me how lopsided some of the character matchups can be. Two games with vega, his Sagat couldn't do a damn thing. Spamming becomes a nonexistent strategy and Barcelona beats pretty much all of his specials. Then I switch to ryu and chun and get stuck in the exact same tiger shot/st.hk spam game that everyone else does. Pope doesn't even need to try. He just stands still and spaces me.

Man am I glad my main character just happens to be the ONE that's immune to spamming. Like seriously, that's ####ing lucky. (Sucks to be you guys, though)

Also hey, I just realized none of us here main akuma or Sagat! (...right?) Way to be non-spammers TA! Keep up the good work!
