Yeah, I agree somewhat. SP assist is useful especially for those on US server, our connection on ranked is always gonna be variable and unknown so to help those rarely-NEVER getting those links it's helpful and somewhat necessary....but autoblock on!? Come on...that's severely lazy, unable to hold back or change to forward or down back? It's cool if people are interested in the game and can do all sorts of crazy combos, but what is that worth if that same player cannot connect those great/complex combos OR even block them???
I don't see the reason why autoblock was ever made in an SF game, this is not MK.

On the bit about bragging rights, I think if you don't even talk about it and just play hard people will appreciate you're making a great effort to play them and play them well; that's all that matters.

I agree with App in the sense that Volt shouldn't be taken seriously because the fault comes down to Capcom themselves for making the game too easy, SP assist was kinda reasonable but autoblock wasn't.
There should've been a filter or different mode to separate out the assisters to the non assisters and one which mixed everyone, in the name of fairness.

I think the question of 'standard' comes under scrutiny of quality.
    EXAMPLES:
    1. Just because it's the standard that most/all Akuma players on ranked have 1-7k bp, swear at you in the comments section, play run away with all assists blazing in glory, hit the home button as soon as you land anything, message you telling you how nice your momma's Ahole is - Does this standard mean it is a good standard????
    2. Most ranked Sagat players are people who wanna use the biggest guy, throw fireballs from far, down back K - SP when close, almost always followed up with jump attack or empty, when you jump = hold forward + SP + Fx2 + K + tap ultra = +64bp. An character ranked by us all as S...in actual reality if any of us play a full set with all assist off I'm sure Sagat's S rank would become an A at best, he's only good because he's robotically powerful.
    3. People wanna try and learn and develop lower tier characters such as Sakura and Cody and try playing off/off...WHAT'S THE POINT??? You have the above two 'standards' + lag and many more making this journey an incredibly unenjoyable one.

I also agree on the bit App said about the players who are actually good not bragging, but that doesn't also mean they should be SO QUIET that they disappear off the face of the community! I haven't heard or seen half the big names I used to know =(

Tell ya what, Capcom should really put some other people in charge of Volt!! =P

Well, I like Volt because of the minimal time requirement. If I want to play AE, I either have to go to an arcade and pay money or I have to unpack my pad, boot up steam and hope my internet connection isn't being raped by the rest of my family.... Volt has captured the essence of handheld gaming for street fighter very well by removing constraints and simplification. Shame we won't probably won't see any more updates

Also, I love you guys. Yes, even you Xion (only sometimes though)

You'd be pretty hardcore if you went to AE, so please don't, Volt needs you! XD It IS a god damn shame we most probably won't get another update, but hey, we still got lots of noobs joining SF and need to be shown the way of pain by none other than one of App's accounts! =D Yaaaaay!!
The feeling is mutual Harle, and with all the TA & DD crowd!
    I'm going sleep! Speak soon!

You are absolutely right about simplification. It's the perfect level for me. I hope they update it. Best iOS game ever.

True about this. 99.5% who play online does use SP/Autoblock (why not? it's not like they're cheating), the thing is that you can't be that competitive on Volt because of the flaws of the app (connection, limitation on movepools, the ranked system, etc.), so I kind of understand Shane's point about players who brag about their skills and are totally competitive. Indeed, it is just a mediocre, yet fun port that doesn't require the time that AE requires to at least enjoy the game.

I'm totally bad on AE. I blame my keyboard, can I haz a stick? (No homo).

You can't tell other players how they are supposed to play with certain characters. And you sure can't tell other players how to act on a more personal way. Being a "good" or "bad" standard doesn't matter, since all that you mentioned (with the exception of the harmful comments and such) are in the mechanics of the game. So as SP/Autoblock. Sagat being OP is also part of the game (blame the developers).

When you choose a character to play with, you must be aware of things like this. Competitive players will always use the character's strenghts/weaknesses for their advantage and that's not a bad thing.

gimme a keyboard where I can plug it into my phone, then I will do OFF/OFF :p

If stupid Arya don't always gimme laggy AE games then he would've seen how well I could do with OFF/OFF  Capt can testify this!

ok onto a more serious matter... the V-pad and Volt input reading system feels different to AE. SRK for example, in AE u can tap down + forward (twice) + punch for a SRK input which made anti-air come out faster and more precise.

Ex SRK motion and Ultra motion also have extremely similar inputs in volts which annoyed me quite a bit... sometimes when I start with crouching, then do EX shoulder with Yun, Ultra would came out... Was suppose to punish a fireball with EX shoulder then I have wasted my ultra

with ''rapid fire'' able to cancel into specials, u just can't expect to take this game that serious... I doubt that 90% of the Bison on Volts can even do crLK, crLK xx scissor kicks in AE due to the precise Link timing it takes (Eric and Arya would know what I'm talking about), but this is just the nature of Volts! It is an input friendly SF game (or perhaps just an APP) which was made originally to attract more players into the actual game SF4!

    Not funny at all 7.7

    SFxTK beats Volt :D
Anyway, a port of the 3DS version with more features and such would be cool. It can't be that difficult, even for Capcom, but I don't know their plans. I still don't understand the reason behind Dojo's release other than trying to make people buy dead games, and that's stupid.

    YEAH !!!
Volt is convenient and easy to find time in our A.D.D. wi-fi world.. The replayability of Volt reminds me of the good old days of SF:Hyper Fighting and SF:Super Turbo... The games became obsolete and dated, but the DEPTH just kept a loyal crowd of aces playing... It's like Poker and Pool, there are wowsier social games to play, but the nuances just make the game great for a bit of fun.. No mess no fuss, just pick up the iPhone.. Capcom captured the essence and depth of SF in Volt... Problem now is, until a dominant mobile platform surfaces, I dunno if Capcom will invest developing games for the three dominant platforms (maybe two- Android and iOS)... It's different now than 3 years ago when Apple ruled... :(

The inputs are just fine in volt. The frames are different, you have more time on each frame in Volt than on AE so the links are "easier". In AE you have more frames but less time to cancel into a move. Shortcuts in Volt and AE work the same for almost every move, specials. I could play off/off, but whats the point if everyone uses SP? If you invite me and say on the invite lets play OFF/OFF i would play off/off, but if im in ranked i know 99.99% of the players i find play ON/ON. In competitive sports you always play on the same level as the other person. Also i could use in AE Wolfkrone as an example, he is one of the best players in AE and he plays on a ps3 controller. He is obviously on a disadvantage compared to the other top players that play on sticks BUT he doesnt care, he mastered playing on controller and feels comfortable with it. You never hear him complain about how he is at a disadvantage cause other players use stick. And please "Dont use this Text out of Context to use it as Pretext."

Arya if u insist to see some OFF/OFF from me then here it is

    http://youtu.be/JkH-mCtLEiQ

Opponent had 3700PP too... His Sagat is mad good, very precise timing with Kara moves, can punish any jump at ANYWHERE... But I managed to beat his Ryu :D

I was able to block a lot of cross ups most of the time! Off/Off Guy on the keyboard :D

Yun is fun :) I like fast, pressure characters! Learn some of his mix ups and you'll really enjoy the character!

Sadly he has a lot of bad match ups...
