Xion when can we play? Saxxo was saying you have a good rush down bison and I'm looking forward to playing an offff player who I can respect after I lose
I guess when ivw plays tenonez there is no respect there is only frustration TenOnez is Chuck Norris. He plays everyone while just looking at the screen if he were to use his hands..........lets just say the player will feel what the character feels.
Who said you were going to lose!?!? XD Last I remember I had to fight ultra tough to survive against your beastly Blanka (these days I just call him "Dog"). I think playing auto block off has gotten me used to losing alot Hahahaha! At the same time, however, it isn't really annoying because I don't play Volt as much as before and can't really take it as serious. To answer your question --> This weekend perhaps? It'll be really interesting, for once, to not only compare offensive skills but blocking skills too! :-D can only really do that against my AE opponents normally - Capt Yadier, Docta Mario, chef master Mooken, Luke Skywalker (KaBoom) and everyone else on ranked. Speaking of AE, my BEST two matches I ever won were against one 3600pp and over 12k bp Gouken and another same level Blanka player. AE is so awesome sometimes...I really like Volt too though, has lots of epicness too! I think TenOnez only uses SP assist for Yun as he's garbage (like Viper and Dhalsim) without it. He's always manual blocking though which is great Wish I could see his AE gameplay, that would be interesting...
I choose to put SP on because of the stupid V-pad never reads my inputs correctly (example: it can not differentiate my SRK and Hadoken inputs sometimes ) fact is, I have no problem playing AE, which of course, has no assists at all... The art of a front/back guessing game is never applicable in volts becoz AG ON killed it... people who play Guy in AE would understand, that he has a jumping elbow OR jumping Medium Kick as a front/back attack to confuse opponent's blocking, which is a big part of his offense... if Guy were in Volts he'd be pretty low tier coz every1 can deal with that, easily
Oooooooohohoho yes! You can cross the crap up out of me ;-D Speaking of dirty cross ups, I've practiced some mean ones with Sakura & Akuma...too bad they're impossible to land. Noob players e.g. Zangief or Abel will just stand and (macro) block the air hit, wait for you to start jabbing or other and mash SP or up SP -.- laaaame! That's not SF at all!! Luke, it's no excuse at all not to have SP off, if I look at anyone of my replays, I can point out many missed inputs, mistakes, wrong blocking etc. That's one of the maaaaany reasons why it's difficult. Fact is, people won't ever turn off assist because they take the game too serious...I get smacked down by a big combo, I don't get mad, I just say I didn't block correctly or that I lost due to moves not coming out - end of a very simple story.
Using the v-pad, like anything, takes practices. Blaming the v-pad for missed inputs is BS. It doesn't miss the inputs you did and it happens whether you use a virtual pad or a physical one. Sp assist is a handicap, there are no ifs, buts, or ands, about it. 1/4 of the game is comprised of executing moves, another 1/4 is blocking, another 1/4 is combos, and the last 1/4 is strategy. Sp on and autoblock on means you are only playing half the game, the computer is playing the other half for you. Sp on and autoblock PLUS lame game play strategy means you are only playing 1/4 of the game and I have zero respect for you. If you play on/on then I expect you to at least be playing the other half of the game, if you aren't then why bother? The CPU is more fun at that point. /end rant
There are buts, but it's really hard to mess it up by using a wrong special. The only thing I have to say is that screwing yourself is part of the game and SP on takes the error factor away.
Fair point. Execution is one of the biggest parts of SF, you can't even do half the combos we do on Volt on AE because they've watered this game down so much. You watch some YogaFlame vids, anyone who uses 'turbo' gets caught out and all respect for that player is gone, now imagine a whole SF game played that way.
Really? there is a big difference when one player cheats the system and gets caught. But if the standard way of playing is to use the SP button, then so be it and go with the flow. Honestly, this game is barely Street Fighter so why pretend it is. Its a watered down mobile version for shits and giggles...there is and should be no real respect for Volt skills Telling people to play like a man and not SP is too funny. There are better things to do than gain SP off skills in Volt (such as get good in AE where real skills apply)
I think somewhere in between these 2 opinions. The option is there for all to use, so no reason why people shouldn't use it. But don't complain that you are dropping combos if you don't want to use what is available. If you want to be competitive I don't think you have a choice because on/on is almost strictly better. I guess anything off gives you some amount of bragging rights, but don't complain too much when you choose not to use that option. It's like if I handicapped myself saying I won't use Guile's sonic boom as then I go complaining that I lost because of that
Onn isn't standard it's a handicap option for those that A) don't know how to do moves or B) are too lazy to do the moves themselves C) or suck and require help. All amount to a handicap and until people admit its a handicap or realize their skills are incomplete I'll continue my ranting Using the excuse that volt isn't real street fight is an excuse and a bs one at that, especially when there are plenty of people who can play offff and can do a ton of combos.
Its a standard when the vast majority of players use it as their default option (99% i'm willing to bet). I'm also completely willing to say that its a handicap and that people playing with onn do so because they are all of the above you mentioned. But, i also think most don't give a crap A lot of the people who do combos probably feel this game is for shits and giggles...barely street fighter. hahahaha. Really, those who are truly hardcore about SF don't brag up their Volt skills. They go buy the real thing on all of the other platforms
Tell that to the 30+ people playing the TA tourney right now. They don't give a crap because they play onn. I give a crap because those same people talk crap and do brag about their "game". And just for the record you have to turn sp on to use it
You do realize that half those people that talk crap and brag about their "game" are ten year old boys hahahaha. But seriously...look at the truly hardcore and gifted of the TA people...TenOnez, PSXsquall, Harle, KaBoom, Xion... they play AE. They can do combos. They choose to use SP on for the most part cause getting mad skills in Volt isn't on their list of priorities (Xion excluded of course).
Lol, you've proved my point, none of those guys talk shit and none of them are always telling people how good they are, they are not the people I'm referring to. The people you listed represent a small minority of players.
I have AE as well, in fact I have it on PC and PS3 but I still prefer volt because it isn't as deep as AE. That's why if SF3 were to come out on the iPhone I'd be stoked! It too has just the right amount of depth for me.
