I played a decent cammy tonight (beat him with my deejay) with sim and it was hard I kept trying to mash out moves and it just wasn't happening, not even his damn normals. I also really have learn the timing better on missed moves like blankas ball and campus dragon punch like kick move, I whiffed so many freaken times I was able to keep the rounds close but I couldn't close them out and won maybe one round per match. Sims yoga flame takes so long to come out that it seems pointless unless you are being jumped in. Also, why is it so freaken hard to do sims up flame? That damn move never comes out:| I wish it was a charge move it would be so much more reliable. Oh and does anyone have any tips against bison? I still can't beat the CPU on hard with sim and I think I only got one round against hieu
I agree with all of those except Sagat. I really enjoy that matchup and love playing good Sagats with Sim. The matchup still favors Sagat but I don't think it's as bad as the others. Of all Sim's matchups, I think Blanka and Bison are my least favorite. I just don't find them fun at all and they seem very free.
I think every character can be respectable if used properly. And I don't think Vega is a good enough character to have that huge of an advantage over anyone. Did you have those matches yet with Xion? Not that it will prove anything nevessarily, but I'm curious given your views on the matchups.
I find sagat really annoying because they just mash buttons and beat out anything you try to do. Cammys annoy me because I sometimes miss the cr mk before the yoga flame and my yoga flame eats an uppercut. I don't mind blanka too much because they are pretty predictable with their slides and you can just focus them if they start approaching. Apparently most blankas think no one will see their walk forward and slide coming...
With Sagat it depends on their style. With aggressive Sagats I am very, very careful because anything they mash will beat out almost anything of Sim's. But since they mash so much, there are always chances to punish whiffed uppercuts, double-hit blocked Tiger Knees, stupid jump-ins, etc. I think turtle Sagats are tougher. I have the same problem with Cammy (and miss that cr. k. against other characters too). But I've embraced the matchup since it's such a common counter-pick. I take pride in beating Cammys and making them RQ. I don't have too many problems with Blanka's slide, but he just does so much damage against Sim and there aren't a ton of good punish options.
Damn, I really hate when lag makes me fail st.HK, cr.MK xx Tatsu and such and I do unsafe SRK without thinking if it would be blocked, so: st.HK, cr.LP, cr.MK xx Tatsu. At least this gives me enough time to think if the move after st.HK will be blocked or not. Long life hit confirm in laggy matches! Oh, and with that EX SRK thing for Ken: FA 3, EX SRK, FADC, Air Tatsu, SRK.
Sorry I meant blocked blanka balls. I always do his stretchy arms too early and miss and then I get punished.
After defeating him, causing him to lag quit, and this message is received Typical zoning Akuma, read his strategy and just walk forward when he is expecting jump-ins eventually corner raping... Lol if u can sit and wait for jumps, why can't I just walk forward and do overheads until u crack and mash reversals?
Some guy called "Master" has an Akuma that never drop links which is so unreal... Long combos but most of the time just jumping until a hit confirm starts with stHK Considering I m getting lag spikes, connection should be the same for him?! I suspect hacks which gave him perfect timings Perhaps there's a programme which sets the timing for u? Coz he would always use stHP link after the stHK hit confirm, even though it doesn't reach (in reality an experienced Akuma would have used crMK instead if he is doing the spacing right) Since I couldn't time my anti air but he could I just use air to air attacks all day and he RQed *sigh* he reminds me of Moe
I've seen people hit that link in some lag. Some people are just really good with timing by going off sounds instead of visuals
Sound would also be delayed in a laggy condition. Thing is, whenever I'm attacking it starts to lag but apparently not for him... Just seems too unreal to me that he is not using any tools
Wow, cross up Air Tatsu, st.HP xx Demon Flip, Demon Flip Grab is a really cool setup for Demon Flip Grab. I recorded the AI to mash SRK after the reset and even that SRK whiffes (Ryu's). I think that only a jump could beat that, but I'm not sure.
Never use punch to punish blocked Blanka balls. I used to do that too but there's basically no timing necessary to punish with slide. Plus, it's a knockdown.
I'd definitely be willing to bump up Abel and Sakura from 8-2 to 7-3, it's very possible I just think it's that easy for vega because I haven't played many good Abels and Saks who can actually give me trouble. It would also make sense that Vega, as a mid tier character, wouldn't have that much of an advantage over any other character. They're definitely the worst ones against him though, worse than any other characters. Also yo Slrc_91, you should totally check out my website when you get the chance.
