Different how? Its supposed to be ripped from Vanilla SF4's Dojo mode and I'll bet Vanilla was different file-wise.
It has buttons and some menus as png files, but that's all. I don't have Vanilla, but I remember that someone told me that some guys even tried replacing Vanilla's Ryu's DLC costume with Volt's 2nd costume, resulting in some glitches, probably due to different number of animation frames. I'll try replacing Volt's Ryu with Dojo's and see what happens. EDIT: no errors... Then I wonder why that DLC costume wasn't working in Volt. If they really used data from Vanilla and only from Vanilla, then that Dojo's Ryu should have different animation frames, thus resulting in the same glitches the DLC costume had. The DLC costume had to work like the other costumes in Vanilla, since having different spite sheet data would mean making new frame data for Ryu's moves from scratch... I don't think Capcom loves hard working, so then or Dojo have things from both versions or there's a way to make the DLC costume work without errors in Volt.
Not because of the frames but because, the characters were bigger in vanilla, chun-li reaches the hp bar lol.
I love the ragequit. I picked Guile to bash on some crappy 2k bp Blanka with 7.8k wins and 6.1k losses. I perfect him in round 1. In round 2, I jump over him and he mashes ultra. I air grab him and BAM insta-ragequit. I love that saltiness! Funny thing was, I was just about to winquit on him...
Why would you randomly win quit on someone you don't know?? What if he was a cool guy who wanted to be friends or take you (and Hieu) out to dinner? You'll never find true homo bro love playing this way...
Because I'm not playing Guile now and there are people out there that are trolling me because I'm terrible. I'm playing Dhalsim now and I'm really bad. I whip out Guile just to smack people around to set them straight [maa]. Jap server
Were the chars bigger... or the camera closer? If the characters from Vanilla were bigger, then every animation of DLC costume Ryu would glitch after putting it on Volt, however, only projectiles and some frames of the animations did. If the alternate costume sprites were really different from the normal ones, then Capcom would have had to write new code just for these new costumes. Otherwise, the hitboxes wouldn't match the sprites. I'm sure there's a way to make those costumes work in Volt, but I don't have Vanilla. Also, that Dojo app has the joystick and buttons, probably from Vanilla, in .png. They are exactly the same in Volt, so maybe the file load_button.obm from Volt is the .png file from Dojo, just with different file extension. If that's true, we can use the data from the .png file to load the .obm file with TileMolester and try to edit it with the built-in editor. And finally, if that works, we could open every .obm file of Volt with TileMolester, since, except the size, they all share the same data.
Every time I see "tile molester", man thats a weird name. But I think zooming out the cam would be easier.
Just confirmed something that I suspected for a while: When jumping in on an opponent's wakeup, there is a timing where a jump in attack will whiff, but can be punished with wakeup DP, which basically illustrates why there are no true safe jumps in this game. I hope this is something that could be fixed before the next iteration of the game, as there is no reason why this should ever happen.
hit boxes were different, i assumed that the sizes were too. Maybe the hitbox is part of the code too. i know psx managed to paste it to volt the costume, but when you did hadoken or another move it would glitch. im pretty sure it has something to do with hitboxes
Hahaha! I don't think HR is half as slutty as you Chord ;-D He just pretends to like old Indian yogis but deep down loves sweaty army men.
If hitboxes were different then playing with a normal costume and an alternate one would change gameplay. That doesn't make sense, even if the game didn't have online features. The only way to know if hitboxes were different between costumes would be to copy Vanilla's default Ryu onto Volt and then Vanilla's alternate costume.
Easy combo challenge with Yun: J.P -> (cr.LK) x2 -> TC1 -> Shoulder -> Super -> TC1 -> Lunge -> TC2 -> Lunge -> cr.MP -> cr.LK -> cr. MP -> Lunge -> (cr.LK -> cr.MP)x2 -> Lunge -> TC1 -> Lunge -> (cr.LK -> cr.MP)x2 -> Lunge -> (cr.LK)x2 -> TC1 -> Upkicks. I guess there are easier eays to get 52 hits, but I found this one fun and possible. Kudos if you can do it without SP Assistant or if you can find a larger combo that doesn't repeat more than twice.
Alright!! Another crappy sim user! Are you playing him off/off? I'm sure your sim is better than mine, I still can't do a combo
