Remember folks, the true crime is not really ragequitting. It's winquitting. Where you take a game from someone and then skeddaddle as they cry out in pain mashing "rematch"
yay, i think this time i gave your super Guile a bit more work, but still need to learn how to counter such rush down style, playing vs Makoto works better.
Today I erased Sf4! Volt is the same at the end, and it makes no sense to have both titles installed. Add me in gamecenter tognesimo
I HATE it when people do that. Especially if it was a close match. If I got stomped, I might still want a rematch just for the experience, but I hate when it's a close one and they skip out. Hehe! Well, I need all the practice I can get with Mak, that's for sure. Playing Guile as a rushdown character confuses people sometimes so it works for me. The more we play, the better we'll both get!
Just wanted to let the tourney players know that Round 3 is up! Check the tourney thread for details!
I disagree to an extent. While it bothers me, I've come to see it in a different light. If I lose a tight match, particularly one where I think I should have won, I always want a rematch. If my opponent splits, I usually see it as an acknowledgement that he/she doesn't want to risk playing me again and walking away 1-1. The other angle is that there are simply a lot of reasons why people walk away. I have a wife and two kids so sometimes I just don't have a choice on whether to stick around for a rematch. So I find this a lot less annoying than ragequitters.
Sounds good. I'll keep an eye out for you. To be honest though, I have no idea how to invite someone to a match. Everytime I've ever checked the "Invite Friend" section, everyone's been listed as offline (or more often as "No Status"). And I've checked quite a bit. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm just supposed to send out invites and wait for a response.
having hard time to play against Akuma spammer who run to corner then air fireball + fireball + shakunetsu fireball...when i got near..he will teleport away... how to counter this?
It depends on who you use. I find it very easy to counter when using Dhalsim. I use his long reach and teleport to get in shot after shot. Dodging fireballs with him is a breeze and even if I take a hit, the damage isn't that bad. The only concern is Raging Demon if I teleport in the air. Dhalsim is floaty so if he RDs before I hit the ground, there's no avoiding it. With Guile I just go full steam at those Akumas, taking a couple hits along the way. Once I get inside I do big damage. If he teleports too early, I can move to his destination and be waiting with a slam or Flash Kick. On a side note, any other Dhalsims have a strategy for hyper aggressive Sagats? I can typically confuse them with teleports and force them to play from a distance, but I lost yesterday to one that literally did nothing but Tiger Knees with the occasional Tiger Uppercut. Dhalsim can't really counter or get away, aside from teleporting. When I teleported, he'd often continue with Tiger Knees to get to me before I could put any real distance between us.
If I get a spammy Akuma, I'll just try to get a life lead then spend time jumping over his fireballs until he comes to get me. They usually get frustrated, which causes them to play worse which helps me WIN! I'm playing theory fighter here, but could you possibly slide under the knee? Or does it start too low?
It's both slow and low-priority. I don't htink there's much that can be done against the knee -- possible an up-flame to trade hits and a knock-down to get away. It's not fun.
Tiger Knee is the bane of my existence in that match. I just try to blok it and retaliate when I can, but Sagat's got good recovery on it.
I'll have to try it. I've slid under the Tiger Knee right at the beginning of the match, but I thought that was because the Tiger Knee starts low and rises. I'm not sure if it starts low enough to hit Dhalsim's slide though.
Thanks for the input. I will occasionally transport behind him rather than backwards. This more often than not ends with me being the recipient of a Tiger Uppercut, but if nothing else, it gives me breathing room. It's not ideal, but it allows me to start taking control of the match again. Another option I've considered but haven't tried out is simply poking with low jabs or kicks.
I think Dhalsim's low-jab and low-kick both come out way too slow as well, the tiger knee has very little room for retaliation. I've tried. I'll try it out in training mode later.
Just tried it and it was a no-go. But Dhalsim's noogie has potential. I previously thought this was a decent out, but I got burned once or twice and decided it wasn't a great option. I just tried it in training mode using the record function and it worked like a charm. Even better, when I held back with P to do the noogie (instead of forward with P), Dhalsim swapped places with Sagat, thereby taking him out of the corner (I somehow didn't know the difference before). I did Sagat's Tiger Knee as quickly as possible so I think noogie does have priority here). I think it's just that when it's live, it seems super fast and continued Tiger Knees aren't always a sure thing. I could be wrong, as I'm at work and really didn't have much time, but it worked in the brief test I gave it.
