Yup. I created about 3 threads complaining about the problems of SFxTK in Ask Capcom in their forums and I got 0 replies from them. I just hate playing that game because of the damn Sending data message that lasts around 20 seconds and appears every time I'm back at the main menu. They answered a question about releasing a version of SFxTK for Android though.
Lol! I just played him random and lost the first 4 matches against his Akuma, I then pick blanka to finish out my five match set. I beat him easily and he sends me some hate GV invite. I posted the replay with his quote.
FA against Gief? I don't think that is a wise idea his SPD has a good range and green hand is like 0 recovery with the US server lag. green hand on block is meant to be punish-able but they can just mash SPD or Lariat right after coz of stupid input delay. body press on wake up is way too OP it is even worse than cross up burn kicks coz he is in such good frame adv after that move is blocked.
With Abel v. Gief I use FA a lot but it's all about timing and spacing. In laggy matches, I agree that it's kind of useless though. I also agree about green hand on block. It's so annoying (up there with Ken after a whiffed SRK). These days, if there's lag I sometimes neutral jump or jump back to be safe. I hate body splashes and it's so easy to time right so there's no good options on wakeup except to hope you guess right. But at least with Sim I don't have to deal with it.
It's funny how Gief's Flying Body Attack in Volt and Hugo's Body Press in SFxTK make those characters OP. Both moves have a HUGE hitbox, deal good damage, have high priority, have more active frames than most air attacks and have low recovery. And the worst thing about them is that they have really cool setups afterwards. Waiting for the end of the blockstun/hitstun and using command grab or Lariat/Shootdown Backbreaker if the opponent jumps is unbeatable. I don't know if this would work in Volt, but in SFxTK you can win a match by spamming Body Press in corner. As far as I know, you can only avoid that nightmare without problems by using Hwo's Special Step or Kaz's Mist Step with the right timing.
Flash Explosion is a weird Ultra. It's common to see someone get hit in the back of the head when they jump far enough. Sometimes 1 hit of the first Flash Kick is enough to trap the foe in the rest of the Ultra, sometimes the foe will be able to block it. I still don't get why people doesn't notice that Guile's Ultra is punishable after blocking the first Flash Kick. A few facts: -Every character has at least one move useful for counter/escaping Guile's second FK. Sakura is the only character without any special/EX move useful for this situation (she must use her Ultra). -You can parry the first hit of Guile's Ultra, avoid the rest and block the second FK. Only Sagat cannot do this because of his poor back dash. -Try countering Guile's Ultra with a regular Sumo Smash Against braindead Giefs a good option is doing a forward dash. But yeah, against good Giefs every knockdown is a freaking bet.
I punish blocked ultras all the time in mid ultra. I do it all the time to fei long, balrog, and my personal favorite, ryus (well its not really a block, it's more of a counter). I thought you could do it to deejay as well but I have not been able to.
After a painful weekend that I spent installing Win 8 on my dead laptop, here's the deal: The tournament will be single, direct elimination. I'm expecting at least 16 participants and the sets will be the best of 7. I haven't thought enough about the other rules, but I have some suggestions: -No character restriction. -First match will be a lag test. -Players have 5 days to complete their games. -No ragequit or winquit allowed. The format and the rules are still on discussion, and all suggestions are accepted. I guess I'll be on the chat tonight, since I still have to transfer some data to my laptop, so If anyone is interested I'l be there to discuss the topic.
-Elaborate on lag test? I assume just give both players the chance to quit there. -7 days would be better, because that means that people always have a weekend to play on. -Replays? I hope that Capt or someone similar can upload them all nicely to youtube. -I know we said this would be closed to TA posters, but it's not explicitly mentioned here. I would be happy to extend the invitation to people who used to post here for a while, such as Cyrus, Shoryutofu (if we can find him), Nashberry etc. Essentially DD players we have close ties with
-Indeed. Nobody wants to play through (at worst) 7 laggy matches. -5-7 days is ok, I guess. -Only thing I have about replays are that they can be uploaded if both players agree before the set. What Capt did was a huge work, yet a good one. -TA posters will have priority, other players (with a few exceptions) will be welcomed.
Usually ryu's launch the ultra when I jump in on them, so I do an empty jump, they launch the ultra and it has so much start up time that I have time to charge for an ultra. If I'm close to them I launch the ultra upon landing, the further I am away from them the longer I wait (milliseconds). The beginning of Blankas ultra is invincible to fireballs and goes right through ryu's ultra and hits him. It's not really the same thing slrc was talking about but its still fun to do, especially when they try to ultra chip me to death and they have a good life lead and my ultra destroys them.
I'll play in the tourney but only for fun so I'll be doing randoms (which I really suck at), unless someone requests me to use blanka. I can guarantee Ill be out in the first round.
