Turns out FA3 isn't unblockable if your opponent is in blockstun. e.g. Dhalsim: meaty ultra, fa3 Is this the case in AE too? Can someone confirm?
Think so, though I have never seen any1 attempting it in their game-play. They will delay a bit, charge FA in ur face and release or dash back to bait.
CrLK, stLP, launcher into shoulder or jump cancel for a divekick. Works up close on some characters. His stLP seems to be the fastest recovering normal in the game I have seen myself whiffing while CPU mashes out an ultra, like Sagat's ultra. I can recover and block Tiger Destruction in time.
I remember Ken^2 or Jibba mentioning it. But I found out FA3 won't hit during a blocked ultra. *sadface*

I threw a rock and did ex ruffian kick, while CPU Guile mashed out an ultra... His first flash hit me then the second flash end up behind me!?!? I'm interested in ex RK hurt box now seems like I can duck under certain attacks with this move
Yea u need to delay until block stun is just over and release FA3. Otherwise Sim is pretty OP every knock down can basically give u a free FA3 when u have ultra. Still a good guessing game though.
Guile's ultra has issues with invinc frames. I've had it do 1 hit and then get the rest blocked. I've seen Fei long's focus attack hit me out of it from front on. I've seen characters walk into the ultra from behind.... EX Ruffian has some invinc frames too and you essentially landed on top of guile during the ultra and after the first hit (when his invinc ends), you got pushed behind him
Fixed Makoto. In a set against Varo, I realised that Ultra doesn't even get out. I just eat ultra when it gets mashed after my j p/k and it eats my st p/cr mk. (The same you I usually eat EX Chop because I'm crouching and/or pressing a normal)
GGs Harle! Damn, it's like most of the time I just can't use EX Chop and I get Chop or nothing. Anyway, dashing is more than enough to get out of safe jumps with Makoto.
I was thinking about it and her dash is probably fine to get out, but it's awkward when I crossover and depending on range, I sometimes catch you out of the air. I think because if I'm not crossing over I'm using j p which has less range than j k, so less likely to catch your backdash. PS, ask capt what happens when you start abusing backdash
As far as I know, it's exclusive to Sim. But yes, FAs are blockable while opponents are blocking his ultra. If you time it right though, you can connect just after the invincibility from FAs (for lack of something better to call it) ends, or like someone mentioned above, back dash out for mind games. I've never really played around with FAs after connecting an ultra, but I don't think there's a ton of usefulness. Also, this reminds me that I saw a Sim discussion like 10 pages ago and forgot to comment.
I think that Sim FA3 thing was patched out? IIRC, you could lock someone down with ultra and FA3 them into crumple in vanilla volt.
fighting a patient Gief is so annoying... they pretty much just have to inch forward until you do something he can easily punish with green hand / spd / lariat... that is all he needs to survive most match ups!
Just pick Sim. I don't handle Gief very well if I'm not using Sim, but I find that if Gief is patient, you have to be more patient. Or you can just FA the sh*t out of him. You have better timing than I do so I'm sure you can pull it off. I sometimes FA absorb the green hand, but get hit by an instant follow up SPD. It seems like there are so few frames between those moves.
I wish Capcom could update this game with SFxTK engine and more characters. Actually, how many people think that we are going to get another SF game in summer?
I have no idea when, but I think there will definitely be another SF coming to iOS at some point. And Capcom is usually pretty secretive about this sort of stuff unfortunately.
