Wow, am I going to defend Viper's honour too ? It's like "talk crap about mooken's favourite obscure mains" week.

but why it is even matchup with Bison? and have you changed his matchup with zangrief just to keep him in the top tier? hehe. i would also say he has better matchup vs yun, but it's maybe yun players still learn how to use him.

bison doesnt have much on zangief except his standing hard kick. headstomp is beaten by low medium punch, blocked psycho crusher beaten by spd, blocked slide beaten by spd. it might be 5-5 or maybe just in geifs favour.

im not too sure about viper-bison. how does that go for bison (you use bison right?).

and yun-bison seems to be pretty even, they both have answers for eachothers moves, and both have a special move thats safe on block (scicssor kick and shoulder). but youre right, i havent versed any good yuns yet, at all.

yes, i know it's quite hard matchup for bison vs zangrief, just joking. ;) well, usually playing vs Viper is quite easy, not so much hp, normals are meh too. seismo moves are kind of slow and can be punished by knee press or ex version. from distance with head stomp. viper is also quite floaty character so i think psyho crusher is a good option too. the burning kicks can be avoided usually with knee press and then with attack. but i have points in the range of 1400 so maybe my opinion is not really valid, and probably mooken will have different opinion.

So, after a game where the lag was so bad I was only able to twice punish a Cammy that did nothing but Spiral Arrows, I decided, once again, to try to use the region filter in the hope that might make the game vaguely playable.

But it appears that nobody in Europe ever plays the game. I've certainly never managed to find a fight with the location set to Europe.

So I think that might well be it with this game*. It was fun while it lasted, and for a good while I loved it, but since that first update it just plays like a bag of sh*te online (although, oddly, offline seems smoother and faster since Yun and Fei Long were added). It's just not enjoyable - the opposite, in fact.

Hope you all carry on having fun with it, and I'm sure this thread will still be as interesting and entertaining a place to hang out.

*Although I've thought that before! :)

there are some players from the eu usually in the evening, maybe you also have many bps and most people set the skill option to the same.

You've clearly never seen me play! :)

(My BP is down around the 600s now - which is about half what it hovered at before the lagpocalypse hit. Maybe it's that no-one else has as few! :))

Yeah, i noticed that problem! i find very hard players when i set it to europe, so now i only play with the 'any' option! as for the lag, i don`t play it often, but when i do almost all matches are playable lag-wise (i.e. out of 10 matches, 2 are perfect, 6 are playable, 2 unplayable)!
heh the most frustrating thing is when you play like 5 minutes a match with lag, you win and then bump, disconnect, those REALLY are 5 minutes lost for nothing, not even fun or experience :)

Psycho crushers should never be used as a factor. You shouldn't be throwing that out there like a hadouken. It won't be beat by spd if used correctly. Only use it to end a close range combo or chip the opponent to death. When used in close range, there's no way to punish it.

Along with the standing hard kick, there's the knee press. I think the knee press is better than the standing hard kick because of the knockdown. If it does connect, you can snowball the game into your favor.

    Did you play Vaceotyn's Viper? It's a nightmare. It's definitely 5-5.

I think when you set it to a certain region, the game does a search for people that are doing the same option. Because of that, you won't be finding nearly as many players when you set it to Any. The region option is flawed since when people set it to any, the game doesn't know where you are located, so people that are searching for eg. North America, there's people that are in that area but are doing are search for Any won't be matched up ever.

I actually picked Mak cuz I thought you were gonna stick with Fei. Then when I saw Guile on the Vs. screen I was like, "Shit!" Hehe! But yes, let's definitely play again!

I am! I'll hit you up tonight after I get outta work!

She's not that great of a character really. Latif did a whole breakdown on one of hte Guilty Gear podcasts about how she's actually pretty weak. I remember when Vanilla had just come out and everyone thought she was gonna be top tier though.

Btw, the region filter seems to work fine for me. I think it may depend on what time you're trying to play though. I was looking for a European player last night and got one right away.

it's funny when people complain Genei Jin dmg is not painful

when other char's super are relatively around the same dmg

And at least other supers concentrate the pain into a short burst - Genei Jin (always makes me start singing Bowie, that) drags the pain out for such a long time it's torture...
