I love playing Sim, but hot damn his bad matchups are BAAAAAAAAAD. Cammy, Akuma, Viper, Yun, Makoto and Blanka just eat him alive. I'd say each one of those is at least 7-3 against Sim.
Are you sure it has FB invinc? I mean, it seems it avoids FBs at startup because she moves very fast. I think someone was talking earlier about Yun avoiding FBs with FA or something like that.
I find Sim pretty weak after a hard knockdown. The first time just walk and grab after a Yoga Teleport, after that it's only mind games. At least with Guile you can try a meaty SB and wait for the reaction. Also, GGs yesterday, TenOnez. I expected hard and fun matches and those were great, too bad I had to go after a few. I like how you use Yun's normals and the Genei Jin -> Shoulder to go through fireballs. Stupid Cammy with the stupid Quick Spin Knuckle that cannot hit stupid Yun on stupid super using stupid shoulder
Just found out that you can grab Dhalsim at point blank just after he ultras. *waits for everyone in the thread to tell me they know this already*
I'm surprised that you didn't know about this, since you know other stuff of the frame data so well. yea his Ultra has no invinc at all, not even throw invinc... which is why most Dhalsim plays zoning coz if they got knocked down there isn't much they cant do but teleport / super / back-dash
right when the fireball is about to touch you, do ex Hayate, and you can go through it... timing is extremely strict but not a bad idea if people try to chip you out on wake up with fireballs. neutral jump with axe kick = avoids jump in for anti-air and builds meter, which is good to deal wtih pro zoners. Unfortunately Makoto has to be the patient one in most match ups to close the distance.
LOL shoulder ducks under quick spin knuckle!? Interesting to know I thought it only goes through projectiles and duck under high hitbox moves like Sagat's stHK. I guess quick spin knuckle hits pretty high too?
I know it has no invinc, but I didn't realise I had enough time to do a grab. I was trying to zonk him because that has invinc, but I accidentally threw instead. In the next match he kept running away so I did 20 fake stones in a row...
Damn, so it's just like EX Axe Kick. I guess I should try in training mode. And Sim's slide goes under Makoto while she's doing FA. Except with Akuma. They always do backjump and Zanku just after the word FIGHT disappears. Dash, dash and punish at the start of the first round
Well, after trying vs Sagat's FB spamming it seems that EX Hayate FB invincibility is even more awkward than I thought. It isn't exactly at the startup of the move, but a bit later. Then Axe Kick seems to be cool for short jumps to avoid FBs but without the risk of an upcoming SRK. And I didn't know this: going through an attack by using FA still deals stun damage, but as long as you keep going through upcoming attacks by using FA, even if the stun value reaches its max you won't get dizzy. I think I should stop using FA that much when using Akuma
Makoto is decent maneuvering around fireballs. Don't forget you can use a move like kaoruna to move forward slowly without jumping.
Actually, yes. It amuses me how Dhalsim players desperately go for an ultra on wake up and they end getting grabbed in the face.
More random Dhalsim fun: Yun's palm will completely nullify Dhalsim's super, and Yun will recover before Sim with enough time to punish.
Its kinda stupid to use that stupid spin knuckle on a stupid Yun On Yun, your best friend is dive kick and throw/uppercut. Against TenOnez, you have to have meter in the last round to have a chance (for srk fadc). The spin knuckle is only good against Ken and Akuma. Its too slow on everyone else. On Guile, i use it only as a mixup against the ones that walk with the boom. It also works on makoto cause she tends to utilize a lot of FADC.
I just can't believe some guys are THIS stupid: Blanka vs Makoto (me). He keeps using Rolling Attack, I block and punish him with Hayate. Then he uses Ultra, I block the Ultra and he RQs. WTF.
Actually, I didn't know that! Hahah. But I did find out several days ago that you can apparently grab Zangief out of his Ultra. I put the replay up too. I couldn't believe my eyes when it happened. It must have been a fluke, or bug in the game I reckon.
I just watched your replay. Since that Green Hand hit you as a CH move, you were still recovering when he used Ultra. That's like using a command grab in the middle of a combo, so it just whiffed.
Oh so that's what bloody happened!!! I knew there was a way to explain it! I'd never seen that before so it really shocked me at first.
