Hey Harle, the tatsu thing with Makoto also works with Yun.

Did you notice my other characters are getting a bit better. Haha. I'm diversifying away from Cammy :D

I was surprised your Makoto didn't just run over my Guile.

It was always punishable by the knee press. I never tested how punishable it was because I was happy enough with that one hit and the push to the corner.

It's a legitimate tactic though. :D Pretty hilarious how most people suddenly play very badly when they see someone else teabagging.

Oh and speaking of Akumas and how they're "supposed to be played" as claimed by scrubs in general, I saw a vid of Infiltration vs Xian's Gen. o.o so much fireballs.

I dislike the so called "high level gameplay" on AE tournaments. IMO it's a combination of scrubby things, put together in a way that people actually think it's something amazing. There are exceptions, though.

Chris G comes to mind. His strategy involves "supposedly but not really mindlessly" peppering his opponents to death with fireballs but switches to even more technical expertise when he starts doing mori's combos and hitconfirms. :D People keep complaining he's cheap but these are the same people who suck with those characters  the FGC is lovely.

    Sunday afternoon + boredom. :p

Sorry Capt. I had to do something and I didn't want to quit. Did you actually do that roll or were you letting me win?

Trying to learn Rog these days. Seems like I'm pulling a reverse TenOnez psychology. Got bored of Yun, and besides I can never get them fancy combos right on online play, my wifi always sucks for some reason.

Any advice from some of you experienced combo techies (maybe Harlequin?) on the best inputs to get headbutt to ultra to land properly more than 50% of the time? Seems like I always miss the timing. Is it better to use manual inputs for the ultra for the ultra or just stick to the revenge button!??

I prefer using manual input for the headbutt instead of down + SP. That way I can keep the back charge while Rog is in the headbutt animation.

Input = charge down or down+back -> up+back, then press P or SP. Once you see your headbutt has landed you pretty much just have to double tap on the Ultra button while your other hand is still back-charging.

I don't blame them, tourney players are all pretty much doing max punish damage for a single mistake, plus there is $ involved... so they had to play very carefully. By all means, throw lots of projectiles until they jump over or do something punishable.

That is one reason that I don't play Rank often, what I don't get is, some people even do that on Friendly Matches.

Xian's Gen is extremely scary after scoring a knock down, he knows a lot of unblock-able set ups... plus if Akuma teleport on wake up Gen can punish that with Ultra 1 or super for crazy damage.

so Infiltration had to zone him away as much time as possible.

but since Akuma is winning most tourneys in the 2012 patch, I think a nerf will be coming for him in 2013

Except when Akuma has Ultra 2... Xian made the same mistake twice at NCR and got hit by roflcopter.

It's not so much that Akuma is winning tournaments as it's about Infiltration winning tournaments. When he's not participating, it's all up for grabs for whatever mid/top tier character to end up winning.

It's always been punishable by Sim, and I think it was also always punishable by Abel's COD. One move that I find very effective for Cody is to follow a CU with an Ex CU. Most people see CU now as an easy punish but Ex CU will beat out most punishes. I get burned by that a lot.

Hey thanks! Switched to manual headbutt and now I'm landing it 90% of the time. Interestingly enough, I also had the idea that I wasn't supposed the press the ultra more than once and if timed incorrectly you wouldn't get a second chance, which isn't the case.

Anyone here fought an Edsvan26?? Lamest Akuma in the world!!! This guy just brought the term "spamming" to a whole new level, I mean literally I felt I was fighting a robot programmed to spam flawlessly.

the source of info I got was wrong then... was viewing some other AE forums and saw people's statement with ''tourneys now are all for Akumas''

The only time you would want to delay your ultra after headbutt = when you hit a jumping opponent and he flies up too high. If you immediately ultra you'll miss a few hits and the damage will be poor.

at other times you basically wanna mash ultra out after you confirmed landing a headbutt... I used to tap just once but realized that in a laggy match my timing won't be reliable, so now I'm doing double tapping at the very least.

Rog is actually a lot of fun! Dash sweep is a scary tool if you can time your meaty overheads/sweeps well after knock down. Multiple armor moves = trap to catch people press buttons. Overhead is a great way to reset for high damage since you can combo that into ultra. Turn punch + armor punch + headbutt = tools to deal with projectiles. Finally if you can combo ex upper like TenOnez, you will be ROG STYLING! ;)
