GGs GGs Jibba not a lot of Dhalsims can take even 1 round from my Yun, you took way more than that! I understand this is a hard match up for Dhalsim, like 5-5 before you get a knock down but 7-3 after I score a knock down... but Good games I m amazed that you just do up-flames the moment u wake up from resets caught me dive-kicking that was a risky but insanely great read low-tier forever
Good games man. My Sim is rusty and I completely forgot how to zone. I couldn't seem to block at all either. As for Abel, I can't handle a good Yun with him. The mirror was fun but frustrating. Would love a shot at revenge against your Yun and Abel sometime.
Thanks man. I have to try to mix things up against Yun, especially the way those matches went. I felt like you were predicting/guessing right no matter what I did. I think I got my guess wrong after every single one of you meaty (?) blocked lunges (up kicks v. grab v. other mixup). It's a tough matchup for sure, but I usually do a lot better than that. I just didn't react well to your pressure and you had great punishes. I look forward to the next round. You have a great Yun.
actually Dhalsim's teleport is not too hard to react to given that if I whiff a dive-kick I have almost no landing recovery, and Yun's lunge comes out pretty quickly! If I pay attention to Dhalsim's body flashing white I know it is time to do a lunge! Some of them are reads, some were reactions! Can't be too teleport happy or jumpy on wake up cause even if Yun's meaty attack whiffed he can still chase with lunge. I know he can be hard when up-close, back dashing outta dive kicks might be better than teleports (not sure if it is faster but back-dash seems harder to react to) and sometimes blocking might be the best option
I disagree, some mirror matches are the best + most fun matches you can get: Abel*, Balrog*, Blanka**, Makoto** and Fei Long**. * My favourites ** Player specific e.g. A Fei long mirror I played vs Macky or a Blanka mirror vs Shane etc. There was a question I wanted to ask but I forgot :'( It'll come to me...maybe...for now here's a picture of Apprunner's face: Not to scale, in real life it's been recorded as the length of a cannon spike!
I remembered my question: What do you guys think would happen if sonic boom were taken away from Guile's game? Would he still be viable or would he be the utter trash he was born to be? Would he still say: "Go home and be a family man?"
You wouldn't know; the best players I talk to hate the mirror. Guile would be trash without his sonic boom.
Guile, Sagat, (AE) Bison, Dhalsim and overall anyone who stands back and waits for opponent to come forward makes for boring and unenjoyable mirrors. Mirrors like Abel & Boxer are amazing because both are like a pair of fighting roosters (not gonna use the other name for them) because they are just going forward, attacking and never really backing down. This is where SF shines brightest in mine and ofcourse Shane's opinion.
Rog mirror is so much fun!!! Turn Punching your opponent's turn punch is stylish!!! Abel mirror can be a complete disaster I remember me and Duyster whiffing TT on each other coz we both had throw invinc LOL

I don't typically enjoy the Abel mirrors but ours yesterday was pretty fun because it wasn't a typical mindless matchup. I kept that replay (as frustrated as I was) and will have to check it out to see if it was actually any good.
AGREED Harle.. I thought it was just ME vs ANY Gief.. But it seems even Guiles, Kens, Abels, Vipers, Makos, Sagats, Chuns etc suffer Short Circuits in mirrors.. I think only Ryu hardly suffers from a mirror due to his Vanilla nature.. The more stylish or identity defined a character is, the worse they suffer to mirrors (and counter picks)..
