Focus the fireballs and dash forward, observe what kinda of response your opponent is doing.

If he throws another, next time you can do FA dash then jump in attack.
If he dash/jump back, you can just slowly repeat the process until they corner themselves.
If he jumps forward, be ready to do a fukiage.
If he blocks then u can try this next time: FA -> dash x2 then command grab

    Observe and counter!

Honda has his ridiculous j p. It has pretty good priority and it changes his hitbox well.

Edit: Man, I was going to upload this sick replay where a Makoto dashes under my Wheel Kick, and then command grab--> ultras me. The round ends in a double KO.... But they ragequit so I couldn't get a replay

true, his jumping LP is good as his hurt-box is shrunk.

BUT it doesn't change the fact that he has to resort to jumping to deal with fireballs... and fighting against Akuma who can throw air fireballs or Sagat who can throw ridiculously high fireballs, getting-in can be really hard.

Honda vs Ryu or Ken wouldn't be too bad but Guile/Sagat/Akuma can be really annoying for him.

The tournament which Omega vs Eskapade turned out 3:1 is a good example...

btw, that was a sick way to deal with wheel kick! Too bad he RQed

I don't know why, but I've always had trouble FADCing Abel's COD. I've spent some time in the training room recently and just can't get consistent enough with it to comfortably do it online. The window to follow up with cr. hp seems really small and with auto block, if I don't keep the combo going it gets blocked. Any advice? I feel like I should have this down pat by now.

    1f link

That link is tight, 1f only. Offline I can do it consistently you just need to practice. Press crHP immediately after the dash forward animation has finished... Not too early or else it won't come out, not too late or it won't combo!

Online it is tricky... Becoz of lag... Delayed inputs are annoying

Yeah, it's a bit tough. Maybe try doing CoD, EX FA lvl 2 instead?

The damage difference is marginal so long as your combo isn't too long

Thanks again guys! Absorbing fireballs is something I do very often, my main problem there is when people start using EX hadokens and such :p
Nashberry sent me too replays with Makoto. I still have to watch them.

Thanks. Yeah, it seems that a lot of his links are really tight. I just can't find that sweet spot. What I'd give for the time Ryu has to ultra after FADCing!

Thanks. I do this by accident sometimes but maybe I'll try focusing on it instead. I hadn't looked over the damage difference but will try to check it out tonight when I get home.

St P xx CoD, EX Fa lvl 2, cr hp, Ultra is 471/345
St P xx CoD, FADC, cr hp, Ultra is 550/270

St P xx CoD, EX Fa lvl 2, cr hp xx Falling Sky is 332/445
St P xx CoD, FADC, cr hp xx Falling Sky is 330/410

If you're going to go for a second FADC, the damage is obviously going to be a lot worse

    I dunno Jibba.

Just find people with good internet, and fight them, and practice.

Add me, we can practice links online.

If I can do cr.mp, to cr.mp with Yun, I'm sure 1frames will work.

I always assumed we were already GC friends from way back in the day. I will probably be available in an hour after I put the kids to bed and eat. Will you still be around?

Thanks man. Does omitting the st. p at the beginning bring the damage closer together? Just curious.

Mirrors are, off the top of my head, the worst way to compare how good someone is with a character. By definition, each character is only 50% in the mirror.

But mirrors are the best way to learn more about the character you're using. Most of the things I learnt about Hwo in SFxTK and Akuma in Volt were in mirror matches with people with ~same skills (of course I'm not talking about Hunting Hawk/Fireball spammers, nothing to learn here).
BTW played a Guile player that was playing just like you. Damn, I didn't know that you had to block low the sonic boom to block an upcoming low kick.

It's good to learn and find out your characters weaknesses.

Sonic boom, cr rh is a very common (and scrubby!) guile tactic. I love it!
