Amazing long thread thats still going! I haven't played this game in a long time but its always been on my iphone. I was susprised to see an update available but just wanted to ask if there is anything new with this update? It is just some general optimization? I may play some online matches again....
nothing new, at least not found yet... just the same as it was in 1.04 it is just that now you can 'allow' notifications to be ON......... seriously Capcom?
can we FADC those MGUs? Given that it is safe on block, we might be able to catch opponent with a throw since they are most likely not gonna be doing anything after seeing one. so like, MGU then FADC forward -> throw... or any mix up you have in mind
Yes, you can FADC it just like Honda's HHS. I don't know if it's worth it though since MMG x FADC x throw does similar damage to simply finishing MMG.
U r absolute right about the st.P, I forgot to mention that st.P can used for anti-air too(I remember Killyn showed me that, just like Viper's st.K). Falling Sky for jumping dudes is kind of hard for me because it's slow and no invinc, require better reflection. Also good idea of random Change of Direction (blocked) then TT, sometimes I use FADC then grab instead(after the first hit).
for your DJ you need to be more aggressive dude, just like your blanka! Don't play defensive Guile style(personal preferences, no offence).
24 hr sale for fighting games for the 360: http://shoryuken.com/2013/03/03/super-street-fighter-iv-arcade-edition-street-fighter-x-tekken-king-of-fighters-xiii-tekken-tag-tournament-2-and-more-discounted-on-xbox-live-in-24-hour-sale/ SFxT is actually cheaper if you just purchase it through amazon (regardless, if you want the full experience, then you'll be paying an extra $20 for the disc locked content...). TTT2 and KoF13 are a steal though.... Edit: After 3400+ pages of posts, our thread is finally broken... stupid glitch making it seem like page 3496 exists right now....
Ex Falling Sky has invincibility and is easy to pull off after a step kick since you're already holding forward. But following a step kick, you'd only be using Falling Sky to predict a neutral jump or a backward jump so I find that invincibility isn't necessary. You'll eat damage no matter what if they don't jump or dash backward. If they dash backward, you may be able to get away from a whiffed Falling Sky without eating any damage depending on your opponent. Interestingly though, an Ex Falling Sky will catch a back dash, which is a really nice bonus.
It's done that a lot in the past. I actually think it's a TA thing. If you look at this thread, it has the same problem. Page 404 is the last page but it looks like it goes up to at least page 414. Weird.
Wow 15 ghost pages... I remember seeing the problem in KoF's thread a while ago and thought that it would just get fixed eventually. Apparently not.
I don't know why, but I always thought it had to do with mods cleaning up/deleting posts from threads. But I have no idea why I got that impression.
I'm actually curious why the Ex version will catch it but the normal version won't. It seems to me that the opponent is either in the air or he's not. I've tried the normal version a lot in training and have never gotten it to work on a back dash though. Anyway, yeah with Abel the wakeup pressure is huge against better competition. The more options you have the better. Plus, catching an opponent with a random Falling Sky feels great (similar to catching jump-happy opponents with a random Yoga Blast with Sim).
St.P is a waaaaay better AA than cr.HP. If you don't like/don't wan't/can't do (EX) Falling Sky, go for cr.HP, it will screw jumpers and I think you can do some follow ups (I can't remember ATM if you can juggle or not).
St P has faster start up and better frames/priority than cr hp. if you hit the cr hp aa, you need to hit them pretty high to juggle. I seem to remember FINIX catching me backdashing with falling sky, non EX. I'll have to hit the lab to confirm
Haha I agree that catching an opponent with a Falling Sky feels great. Kind of the same feeling in KOF 97/98 when I catch the opponent with Daimon's anti-air grab (Cloud Grabbing Throw?).
Lol, I wish I could be more aggressive but I still don't know him well enough. When I play I feel like I'm hoping the moves will come out, when I use blanka I know the moves will come out. Throwing a projectile with deejay is so inconsistent for me that it slows my whole game down:|
