Which dash punch do I use?

Could Master Tenz, or any1 good with Rog briefly explain when to use which dash punch?

I know that, the dash low straight/dash swing blow are mix-ups to catch opponents blocking high/low.

Turn Punch to deal with projectiles and dash low smash to break FA.

However, under what circumstances do I use dash straight or dash upper?

Normally I finish my BnBs with a dash low smash coz it knocks away opponents and can usually be followed up with a meaty dash low straight or overheads for further pressure. Other times I finish them with headbutts coz of knock-down too.

YES, some people don't get it.. Japan is a Xenophobic, Closed Society.. Despite being the most modern part of Asia, they are still very very hardcore into their Traditional ways.. It's still a patriarchal society, the good of the group outweighs the individual, manners are just as important as competence etc.. WE visitors are SECOND CLASS citizens there, the onus is on us to EARN their trust + respect.. Though the Japanese network is on the web, they consider it THEIR sovereign soil.. It's THEIR HOUSE, there's a reason Capcom kept even THE REST OF ASIA (even nearby Korea) out of the Japan Network..

Agree on all Xion.. (when I say "you" below, I mean ppl in general, not solely Xion)

Yes, they are very very sensitive to lag, though we PUT UP WITH IT.. The Japanese do not put up with sub-par products (look at their cars, electronics, industrial robots, cosmetics, clothing etc), in fact sub-par products (below promised specs) are seen as VERY DISRUPTIVE TO SOCIETY (it's a Shinto thing).. Playstations bought in Japan are MADE IN JAPAN, the ones bought elsewhere are Made In China..

It's our choice to put up with lag, I guess we're used to cheap things acting flaky (after all it was cheap right?).. The Japanese choose excellence and nothing less (AND THEY WILL PAY MORE FOR IT), sub-par performance of a product is not something they believe ANYONE should put up with..

Lag will often be used as a Face Saving "reason" by the Japanese, we will never know the truth (then + there).. If all you want is to post winning reps (and to gloat) over top Japanese players, that is NOT hard to accomplish (esp with lag around).. HOWEVER, if you want to cultivate great relationships with their local players, you will permit them the courtesy of LagQuitting on R1 or perhaps accepting lag was there in the game (on their end).. I promise you, in my year plus playing the Japanese, I have never felt so much goodwill as I did back in the height of TA and Denjin.. I've written about this last week, how that online vibe TA and Denjin helped cultivate on USA BN, is alive and well in Japan BN..

When I get juggled silly by chaporuu, yjork, and nakamu I have memories of how amazing it was when Felix did it to me.. Until I see the drain on my life bar.. ;(

The respectable players on BN/LINE are definitely few and far apart.

I'd like to see more new faces stick around and join the fold

Most of Japan's electronics are now sub par. Hahahha. Sony, Sharp, Panasonic...most of them will be put out of business by Samsung. :D

For dash straight, I usually use it to finish a combo or sometimes I just do it to chip and bait something.

For a dash upper, if the opponent is close and jumping forward, I'll use that to knock them down. I mostly use dash upper to make long, useless combos for no reason other than to look flashy.

    (P - P - P - Dash Upper - lP - lK - Dash Upper or headbutt)

Dash low is a good way to mix up the end of combos. The good ol' knockdown. It's really good when people block high a lot. Keeps them guessing.

Sorry about taking so long to get on the Japan server. It took forever to find a match the first time I tried it, but you explained that to me already, and the negative stuff about it on the forums isn't helping much.

Tenz there are times when I see Rog pros like you OPT to finish the combo with a dash upper, regardless if you expect em to block or try to escape.. I've heard pros say something about dash upper is the dash punch that keeps Rog closest to the opponent.. So when DO you use it (dash upper) ??

I know that some people use Dash Straight a lot, then out of no where, use upper, and if it whiffs, you throw their punk booties!

So I'm playing Abel on Jap server, because alphabetically he comes first.

I get 1 quit at vs screen.

Then I proceed to beat nezu-mickey-cool's cammy and he rqs.

    Still 0W 0 L!

Edit: He says he accidentally switched off his phone...

9 times out of 10, that's because I'm moving too fast and get a dash upper on accident because my thumb hits K, lol.

It's good for getting up close, but if your opponent is crouching, Rog is wide open for whatever: Throws, Ultras, combos, etc. You can link moves with a regular dash upper, like an EX upper, I believe if you're close enough or if it's a counter hit, I'm not sure, but I don't really try doing anything extra after a regular dash upper. If I'm not feeling it or comfortable with it, I'm not doing it.

Regular dash upper is usually used for anti-airs, but I'd rather cr. P for anti-airs. EX dash upper does well with close jump-ins since it can absorb a hit. That's great for giving me some space. Sometimes I end with an EX dash upper for a KO just because, lol. I just want to look flashy. Then you can use EX dash upper to connect combos until you either end it with a headbutt, mix it up with an EX, or regular, overhead punch, just dash punch, or your opponent mashes an ultra out during it.

It's not a big deal. Accidents happen and he apologised.

I gave Gonzou the chance to apologise but he lashed out at me

    Great editing as always!

I can't even land the headstomp after fa, backdash.

If I forward dash, I can't land the TC after the first headstomp...

Its so funny how so many people RQ when they don't know who you are. I've played Squall, TenOnez, Kaboom, Radical, and Hieu. Everyone took their losses well...except Hieu who's scrubby Bison RQ on me after i beat him up

Note: Tenonez for the most part abused me badly so no reason for him to ever quit :D

Thanks for always taking the time to explain the Japanese culture to us :) I genuinely never even heard of "Shinto" ways...sounds pretty "shitty" if you ask me *Sips his tea with 2 sugars*.
But yeah, if I could speak with the Japanese, I would totally ninja my way onto their side and plague them from within XD jk!

@App: You and your sneak accounts...such a Volt molesterer!
@Capt: Very nice vid!! Great editing!! :-D
