Open reminiscing here.. The difference between now and then is.. (1) Denjin and TA aces back then had far far more skill, and far less potty talk.. (2) You could get your @ss kicked by a truly skilled Denjin or TA ace, and there is no conceit after the match.. They never even got a rise out of beating you silly.. Denjin and TA aces were humble AND skilled.. (3) Denjin and TA aces were good to great with MULTI-characters.. (4) Denjin and TA aces mainly wanted the EXPERIENCE of The Match, not really the replay.. Problem now is, the people who call themselves good or "best" are contrary to MOST (if not ALL the above).. There will never be another Zeppelin, Stones, or The Beatles.. Yet there's always a new band who think they're THAT GOOD in the absence of these giants.. (sigh) It was different back then.. And you original Generation 1 giants of TA and Denjin are missed.. Thanks for the memories and matches.. Pity the skills and manners are absent now.. I play in Japan to recapture the days when Denjin and TA aces taught me skills AND manners !!
Does it count as gen 1 if you've been playing the SFiv apps since they first came out, but have only been a part of the forum/chat communities for a few months? Ó_Ò Nah, probably not. Plus, I've been playing the same character since the beginning so I'd be disqualified under those rules anyway.
To me Gen1 are the pioneers who laid the groundwork for the techniques we all discovered.. To me Gen1 are the people who have been playing before the Yun+Fei or Mako+Saku patches came.. Gen1 are the people who interacted on THIS TA Forum and/or that Japanese Forum (livedoor) BEFORE the BN Public Board even existed (BN Public Board and Teams came AFTER Yun+Fei).. Gen1 are so Been There Done That, they don't need to: brag, belittle, or RUSH to post a rep "look at me, look at me"... (though you may have somewhat before) The culture of sharing, improving, fun, and MUTUAL respect you TA and Denjin pioneers laid out, has not really been seen since across BN.. You MADE the scene.. PROPS still !! HARLE, you are Gen1 to me (but if you say 1.5, OK semantics), you were part of disseminating lots of the technical stuff on Volt upon which lots of us late comers (2012) drew on..
Kids these days are all about getting those rep up and showing off their perfect rounds... To me, I even upload my lost as long as there's something worth noting in the rep (resets or funny stuff...etc) Manners is indeed what we don't see a lot on the newer players these days! Insulting comments after winning some1 on their rep really isn't gonna make u a tough guy but rather a douchebag... But then back to what Volt is, it is just an execution-friendly, tools-limiting little app made originally to distribute the fame of AE. Just let them live in their fantasy of actually mastering the game, like how we never tell our kids the truth about Santa All members on the forum are always welcomed to join the PC AE community if they want the real deal

Lol, I had to go back and watch that myself. Even I'm shocked I pulled that off, looking back. That was pure "Might as well give this a shot" and it paid off. WSS is still a really good Vega, I'm sure, but I don't think I've played him in a while though. I can do some pretty re-donk-ulous stuff sometimes.

Yeah I do see the above guys now and then.. Like the Jedi Knights they were forced into "hiding" by a New World Order, but they still around lurking.. People who developed their game from these mentors are happy to see them drop a few reps and games now and then.. Very tragic nowadays the new gen has far less the talent but far more the arrogance..
