To be honest i dont think yun even comes close to how good he was on consoles. Im hoping its just me and im not used to him yet but he doesnt seem to be that great Ill change it in a few days once ive played him a bit more
Thats the experience I've had with him thus far, Cammys game revolves around mixing up her dive kicks sprial arrows and Dragon kick, all of which fei can punish with either Rekkas, Flame Kick FADC to Chicken Wing or that same combo into his ultra. Cammy in my opinion is one of the worst characters in Volt her game is very limited and even the better Cammy's ive played still think using spiral arrow is a good idea outside of a combo. Viper Really is over hyped in volt her normals are really slow, her links like Yun require no lag which is generally always present even it's little bits at a time, her punish game is lacking and like Cammy most of her bnb setups are predictable and very easy to punish with basic knowledge of Fei, I'm not saying I could beat a good Viper 7 out of 10 times but I know someone who put in enough time on Volt would walk all over Viper. Gief V Fei is definitly advantage Gief by alot he can grab Fei out of Rekkas punish any wiffed moves with huge damage on command grabs, like I said before Fei can only poke and bait in this matchup which isnt ideal for dealing any solid damage and Gief can do triple that in one grab. Some of the 7-3 might be 6-4 to others I suppose but Fei is in the advantage in most cases due to his damaging punish game that requires little to no effort on the players part. and in the end your ranking turned out to be 114 which was one point higher than my overall scoring which still puts him at the top and Yun definitly is not the best in this game everything that was good about him in the console is not here in Volt.
How do you guys work out the tier list, is it by individual reportings? e.g Ten people fought Fei online all using differerent characters and all lost, that would put Fei up in the rankings?
Yea vipers normals arent that great. Ill have a go with her this weekend and see how she is. I dont have too much experience with her. On a (slightly) related note, what do you find to be the best use for feis meter (besides dp-fadc-chicken wing-ultra).
I use Feis meter for Ex Rekkas for extra damage and he actually has a really useful super that I bust out if the situation feels appropriate, Also I use Ex Chicken wing to get through fireballs.
Not really. I just weigh up the advantages that each character has over eachother and how they would work. For example: Sagat is a very fireball based character. Abels roll completely shuts down his fireball game and his ultra can punish fireballs hard. This is means that Abel has an advantage over Sagat. Also his ex tornado throw is really scary for Sagat and abel doesnt have to jump to approach which means that sagats awesome anti airs dont play a huge part. Zangief is all about getting up close. Sagat is one of the best zoning characters in the game. Also, sagats hard kick causes HUGE problems for Zangief. So, Sagat has an advantage over Zangief (7-3 I think, because this is really, really hard for Zangief) Abel likes to get up close to do his damage and mixups, but his roll is out because of zangiefs ultra/super/spd. Zangief also has more life and just does more damage than abel so this is a pretty rough match for him. I dont actually play ten matches with every character against every other character, that wouldnt be reliable. If one character has an advantge its 6-4, if its a big advantage then 7-3 and if its close enough to even 5-5.
I thought you could get through fireballs with regular chicken wings. Ive actually done it before. Not sagats high tiger shots though, might not work on them (just a guess). Ill give fei long a go along with viper this weekend.
I've found that I can consistently get d+P, Shoulder, genie jin, Shoulder, Shoulder, lunge to start. Then it's just lunging with a b+K every so often to bounce the juggle higher and back to lunging.
well i dont see how fei should have better matchup vs akuma, the move s+s+s is also a bit tricky. especially if you play vs player with auto block. because of really long recovery time. however he has some very good uppercut like kicks.
The timing + spacing on chicken wings through projectiles is pretty specific, but yes it can get over some fireballs, whereas ex wings go through. His ex flame kick gets around 200 dmg on its own as well, another decent option.
It goes through fireballs? Thats handy. The timing on getting past fireballs with regular chicken wing was a bit tricky. You had to be ready to chicken wing straight away and you couldnt be too close :S
his S+S+S is amazingly good. If they block the first one, stop. I put him 6-4 against akuma because flame kick stops all of akumas cross up shenanigans and chicken wing (EX is more reliable as I recently found out) doesnt care about fireballs. Also, fei long is a pretty high damage character and akuma only has 850 life......
The matchup Vs Akuma is in Fei's favor because of Akumas Stamina, three bnb combos or punishs with Fei is all it will really take to beat out Akuma. Akuma also depends on a heavy offensive game which means he needs to take risks and Fei depends on matchups like that to punish those risks. Also Akuma doesn't have a great zoning game, his red fireball has to much start up and can be punished with a jump in from the right distance and his normal fireballs can be focused through or just jumped over and alot of times lead to a safe jump in and whiffed shoryuken by Akuma leading to a damaging punish by Fei.
One whiffed uppercut or air-fireball, and fei can launch chickenwing-P-rekka for 350 dmg. weeeee. What's not cool though, is a raging demon after the first two rekkas were blocked and I was mid-third-rekka.
I agree with the rest but Akuma has a great zoning game. You have to use the red fireballs smartly, like for chip damage when you get a knockdown or if you see that they like focusing your regular fireballs. Still, this is 6-4 for fei, possibly 5-5 but closer to 6-4 imo.
Red fireballs on wake up for chip is probably the only real use other than Shoryuken FADC to Red fireball combos. I find that people who try to zone with Akuma rarely know what to do when people get in on them, Zoning is Akumas weekest asset considering his 8 million combo and reset options and a part of his game people should spend less time trying to do. That being said he may have a decent zoning game against some character but not against Fei.
