Is it safe on block? Against every character or just some? I always feel like I will get punished. Against the chun li option I was going to do a fake focus to ball but I thought I would change if up, I got lucky
I haven't ever had my MGU get punished. You can also do a frame trap after with (ex) jackknife maximum or ex sobat kicks. Or ultra if you have the balls. Your focus, dash cancel forward ball were really nice, ive never seen you do them before...
Damn, so i have to tell the stories of my 21.5 chars lol (only half as good with Yun, just dont feel right with Yun ) Ok, When i first started playing Street Fighter 4 (before Volt) I immediately chose Ryu and Ken because I enjoyed them in SF II and Capcom vs Snk 2 (especially Ken, so OP in that game with bunch of option selects). After that I went on and picked up Sagat, felt in love cuz he is OP Volt came along, I was the pioneer Sagat player showing that Sagat can be played aggressively and restlessly not just lame fire balls all day. Then went on main basically Gief, Blanka, Honda for a month each i think. Honda is major shift from playing all the shotos, then went on playing all chars showing all the chickens out there that everyone can win . At the moment, main Vega Also I can use Honda OFF OFF as good as SP on. Believe it or not charged characters can be played better with out SP on (more precise timing and range) Notes: If capcom releases capcom vs snk 3, I will challenge any of you here and show you hows it done Now thats a real fighting game. BTW, if any of you here play shadowgun and got your butt kicked by YoDaddy, you know its me @capt: hehe. Good stuff man , oh i do experience that neutral lag with v pad just cant jump
I played Ryu when SF4 came out, because he's the easy and solid pick. Then I bought AE on the ps3 and noticed I performed better with Rog and Blanka, that then I started using in Volt too. Now I mostly forgot Rog and do decent things with Blanka only. I like Blanka because there are plenty of ways to get around fireballs; he has a high but quick jump that makes harder for punish and a very high output damage. Also, he has no too bad or too good matchups, that makes it fair to me. All my characters' playstyle is inspired by somebody, except Blanka where I tried to develop my own style. Sometimes I wish I could play like TSRAI, but on volt it's very hard and on console I'm still terrible at piano-ing. In general I like to play most of the cast and these days I try to use Cody and Makoto as much as possible, because they're supposed to be the weakest (but they're so much fun when you get it going). I'd love to do random select like KaBoom, but I always feel like I need two matches in a row to warm up a bit (and I'm really not into grapplers).
yea!!!! Random Select!!!!!!! oh T Srai the Blanka king fancy links and pressure!!! He's really the demonstrator, of how Blanka is meant to be played same here I don't like grapplers... Gief could be one of my least used character... But Abel is good fun I like his cr HP -> anything can be mixed up afterwards (overheads, resets) definitly recommend ppl to do random sticking to 1 character is boring! Random Select FTW!!!
I might give Abel a try once I'm done with Makoto. I was considering him some time back, but the timing of rekka -> fadc -> crHP always felt too tight for online laggy plays and he didn't go outside the lab. Isn't this his basic way to do a lot of damage while poking? (namely: isn't crHP punishable otherwise?). Also cr LK or MK (dunno) seems to have a pretty sick hitbox.
crHP is pretty negative frames on block for sure... but you can always cancel a blocked crHP into wheel kick (for overhead) or roll (as a surprise move-in) but I do agree... rekka FADC crHP is pretty tight link, but that is not his only tool to do damage his best tool to pressure in my opinion is his step kick. You can cancel that normal into a forward dash (which is rare as a normal) then go for command grab, or crHP and free damage if opponent jumping away. Obviously if they are reversal-happy you can just block since the dash-in is safe the craziest thing about Abel is his command grab has throw-invinc... probably the only character than can rush Gief down on wake hitbox of his crMK is indeed very good, some even use it as an anti-air for far jump ins
