You're a good Guile, do you ever whiff the first hit of target combo to hit the second hit of target combo for mixups?
My hardest match ups (assuming I'm playing a similar skilled player) are zangief, sagat, deejay, and maybe ken. The spacing I believe is about 3/4 of the screen if not a little more. The only time I'll do a ball from that distance is to get close to a downed player. It's too easy to counter because the opponent can see it coming.
GGs Shane, what happened that third round? Did you have to put your phone down or did you just not like the waiting game?
First off; I respect you as a player and a person so please don't take this the wrong way. If you have read any of my posts you know there are a few things I hate about this game; autoblock and sp assist but what really bothers me is playing lame (ie waiting for your opponent to attack). Anyone can beat anyone if they lame it out (which I did in one match). I play mostly friendlies because I wanted to get away from that type of play, I hate playing that way and I hate playing against it (it's just so boring). This only applies to friendly matches, in ranked the goal is to win, fun or no fun. Lastly, you have nothing to prove to me, I consider you the best vega in volt hands down! So please! Please! For the love of god if you match up against me in friendlies just have fun! If you have fun playing lame then please don't be offended when I leave after one or two (like you did one time). Again don't take it personal, no disrespect is meant. I'm sure my post will be followed by various, "do tell us how we are supposed to play the game" gifs and that's understandable. Me and app had a similar issue and we both came to the conclusion not to play each other lame (we even went randoms just to keep it fun). I hope you understand. Thanks
It's so unrealistic. You need them to be waking up into the 2nd hit to do that which is just plain worse than doing the target combo outright. You lose to the same stuff and you can do more damage and you have a more annoying blocking situation. There are 2 occasions I do do it though. Once is completely accidentally, like I go for target combo and they do, say sky high claw and the 2nd hit aas them clean. The other time is I'm guaranteed to kill them (whiffed ultra, dizzy etc) and I can kill them with the 2nd hit of TC. Even on CH, you can't even followup with cr jab. What do you people mean?
I'm hoping him and I are talking about the same thing but I believe he is talking about when blankas do a forward roll and appear to stop right in front of the opponent and then hit them with a fierce. If not then he might be talking about a forward roll-->fadc fierce. If he is then he has to cancel the ball after it hits and it can only be done if the ball is done relatively close in order to cancel it.
No problem man, don't even worry about it, I take no offense to any of that. I love playing against you, you're the best Blanka I know. But the only thing I disagree about is that I was the first one playing lame. We were both playing really smart and really patiently, and the first two matches were so intense because of that! But then the third match happened and you started turtling! You were forcing me to come to you, where I was at a disadvantage, which was smart because you had the life lead. I was advancing that whole time because I couldn't wait out the clock with less life than you. Then when I got the life lead, I turned it back on you and started turtling myself, because now I had that advantage. But you also just kept turtling too, so there we were, both waiting on opposite sides of the screen. I thought it was a really good strategy when you were doing it against me, so I thought you had planned it, and were playing smart. I wouldn't have tried doing it myself if I had thought you were getting tired of the match, I want the matches to be about the fun also! If we ever get some more matches in, I promise not to lame it out like that anymore, but when it came to this match, you have to realize that you were the one to start doing it first.
We will have to agree to disagree. I look forward to our future matches because I know you have a lot more combos in your bag of tricks and it's rare to see vega pull anything off.
Same here, man. And I want you to know that if we ever get paired in friendlies and you just don't feel like playing our types of matches at the time, you don't have to, you can just drop me beforehand. I once cussed you out for leaving after a lame win and you wrote me back saying it was just cuz you didn't feel like playing a bunch of serious matches with me at the time. That was actually a really good answer, and I remembered that in the future. I knew if we ever got matched and you dropped, it was because of that reason, and that was WAY better than sitting through a match if you weren't going to enjoy yourself. I gotta admit though, I almost never try going for combos against you because you're so good it scares me. I pretty much have to play it slow and safe or else get demolished and curse your name to the Elder Gods. XP
Lol. That's the thing, I want to play you and back in the day you were super aggressive when we played and it was fun. But it just seems lately that you just want to win which is fine but it's not as fun for me. Now if you want to play me for wins, send an invite saying so and I'll mentally prepare myself
Compared to me, you look like a bad PV version. That's my magic: I achieved immortality (¿?) without investing effort on my gameplay or game details that I learned in the forum. Now I'm a few levels down because I don't have a competitive moodefor Volt... Doesn't matter, I can still have fun... ...And beat Hieu. That's why I never use resets. 98% of the times I eat a mashed ultra/super/special.
You got yourself a deal. And you're actually right. Lately I've been trying to step up my game so I've been taking everything super seriously, even on friendlies. You've always been one of my toughest opponents, so I end up using you to test my mettle as opposed to just enjoying the match. From now on, I'll send you an invite if I wanna go all out, and we can leave our friendly matches as exactly that: fun and friendly!
Ooh, the burn! I didn't even eat mashed ultra though. I just blocked and punished. I think it's a bit harsh to say you will 'never' do something. It's part of footsies to be unexpected!
When I used to try some resets I just got damage most of the times. I don't use them anymore as part of a strategy, at least not on a conscious way.
Gg! Kaboom! Every time I play your abel I see a combo I've never seen anyone else do. I was dealing with some major input lag though I couldn't even do my BNB, jump fierce, hp, shock. I just kept jump fiercing and crouched there:| I really should have had the makoto match up but I messed up the ultra on rnd 3. Towards the end it's was getting laggy though. I usually only play 5 but you kept it interesting.
Well, I don't know your strategy enough to know if it works for you. I usually only do risky resets off a dizzy. I also do it more on the jap server where people aren't mashing uppercuts. On US server I always assume they will mash uppercut
So I ran into this guy online: I'm super impressed by his record and his dedication to Chun Li. I was also impressed that he didn't RQ when he lost. He also has all the achievements except SP off (XD) With a record like that, he must be one of the best Chun's on jap server...
That play count is insane! This guy must be playing everyday for freaking hours! Not too surprised by the W/L ratio though, a little over 5:1 is about what I had when I was still doing ranked matches a few months back. But I had been playing for like three or four MONTHS and only reached a THOUSAND matches, this guy has serious devotion to this game.
