Well then its quite weird to start a competition cause it will most likely be Evil Ryu then. The 3 characters thought came up with the "reserved" which might be the char in the competition. Who knows, i guess youre right anyway, they always upgrade SF with two characters
Haha, I couldn't sleep last night so I spent a few hours (until roughly 2 am) playing SSFIV AE. I hate Blanka. Worst match up for Hawk. But it got me thinking. O.K. so if you bring in Hawk.. He'd work rather well on the iOS Volt. I'd hope he'd get the lp Mexican Typhoon, which would allow the player to keep the body splash, mp, tomahawk buster/EX Condor Spire combos. Then the EX Mexican Typhoon would remain the same, FP MT damage, but keep the MP MT range. Condor Dive is only one version, so that's fine. Tomahawk would be the lk version, with the EX being the same as AE. The backjump, EX Condor Dive would be hard to pull off with touch controls though... Condor Spire would be the mp or fp version, great for AA and getting in through fireballs (the EX version, I mean). Adon would suck... You'd be limited to only one variation of the In air Jaguar Kick/Jaguar Kick and only one version of the Rising Jaguar. So if they do bring in Adon... his game would be more limited than other character. Although his FADC into U2 would work well with the touch controls. Or if they gave him his U1 he'd be a perfect anti-shoto choice. ESPECIALLY if they gave him his AE version of the EX Jaguar tooth (which is projectile invincible) . So actually, he wouldn't suck... But he'd be pretty limited depending on how Capcom executed his move list. Anyways, whatever character you're rooting for, it's interesting to consider how they port over in this manner. As for alt. costumes... VERY doubtful. In SF4 iOS vanilla they gave only Chun and Ryu alt costumes and didn't bring them back in Volt. Maybe it's just too much work. EDIT: Also, suppose it is Fei Long and Evil Ryu... Then, really, this could be the very last update (character wise, anyway) for Volt. If it's Fei Long + Someone else, then we might be getting at least two more. I'd hope they continue to update it... It's always so exciting when they bring in some New Challengers to play with. Regardless, Volt is my #1 game for iOS and it only cost me .99$. Best buck I ever spent, I'd say.
Somehow I think we won't get the update this week. I hope I'm wrong but going by what was posted about the competition earlier, the deadline for mail participants is actually the 20th (post marked by tomorrow). On another note, I wonder why the 3DS version is more like the real game while Volt is not. Isn't the 3DS about on par with iPhone4 performance-wise?
I think we will get an other update like sf4, 8 characters at the beginning and then 14! So in volt 18 character at the beginning and 24 at the end! Then there aren't empty slot to fill!
The 3ds is more poweful than iphone4, especially for the video card! And it's a consolle, iphone is a simple phone!
No, it simply means the winner of the contest won't be announced till the 20th, due to people using snail mail. Regardless of when the update actually does land, we should know what character is coming within the next two days for sure.
Under traditional update rollout times, it would be live already (it isn't). Either they have their finger on the update button and are waiting to coordinate the release with/after an announcement today...or we likely an AGONIZING week ahead of us.
Lets just be patient, i really feel the update is going to come out today or tomorrow, it just makes sense with their contest mechanics.
Good question. I was looking at some youtube vids of the 3ds version, its a really good port, the roster is incredible. Still wouldn't buy one though
This game needs a lobby system like in console. Able to choose who you play with is just a blast of goodness .

I don't know where you keep getting the 20th from. The update will hit TODAY. According to CAPCOM on twitter two hours ago. It was originally in Japanese, but this is a loose Google translation.
