I'm just curious, but what's your ranked drop rate? The biggest beef I have with Volt's online mode is matching supposed ragequitters against each other. I understand the concept, but I've had a few occasions where I was bombarded with texts, phone calls, battery messages, etc. and got up to 4-5 ranked drops out of 20 pretty quick (FTR, I'm currently at 0/20). Once that happened, I'd follow it up by going something like 1-10 or worse over the next day or two. But that number was caused by the fact that I was playing constant ragequitters. In reality, during those spans I'd be winning two out of every three easily since I don't have much trouble beating the average ragequitter. I had one case where I lost about a thousand BP in a day because none of my wins counted and all of my losses did. Again, I understand the concept, but I think there's a quick trigger to dump players into the ragequit pool. Hopefully the online mode is tweaked a bit more when the new update hits.
It's 0/20 - but at the moment pre/ early-match disconnections are as much a problem as ragequitting (on three different wifi connections - all of which were fine before the last update). It can take seven or eight tries before I actually get to fight. Then the fight is so laggy as to be ridiculous. Then after all that there's still the rage quitting issue! Yeah, me too. I think one of the reasons I get so annoyed about the 1,500 BP thing is that I know I've 'actually' had it on many occasions (back before everyone got better than me! )... Mmm. It still needs a deal of work.
Wow, that sucks. Are you using an iPhone or iPod Touch? My iPhone loses my wifi connection more often than I'd like, to the point where I'm considering switching my internet provider. But that doesn't seem to be your problem since it's three different connections. Is it possible it's your device? I haven't seen anyone else with the level of problems you've had, and despite a couple complaints I have, when I am able to play it's generally pretty lag-free. Just a thought. And I know how you feel about the 1,500 achievement. It's not like I'm great, but I would have hit it ages ago if not for ragequitters. As it is, it took me 530 wins to get there (to go along with (497 losses). I honestly think I'd be around .600 if it weren't for them. But that said, I still love the game.
Hi Jibba, sry I forgot u were collecting BPs! Would have let u won... Kekeke... Dhalsim can win vs. Bison, you just have to watch out how my teleporting works and be very calm when I keep attacking. There's nothing I can do if you keep blocking and teleporting! It's only when you start fireballs and jumping etc then I can catch u. Most of the people online who didn't play against an extremely aggressive Bison will have the round finish in usually the 80 sec mark. That's how fast it can be due to his slightly higher damage factor. Esp. Against Akumas hahaha... Even Zangief can be stunned by Bison if he's hit repeatedly quickly.
Damn, might be a challenge here in China as most channels are in MANDARIN, not ENGLISH. Can I choose another word?
Noticed 2 things about CPU AI for Akuma as well (Hard/Grueling). 1) At mid range, use blanka slide - He will come out with fireballs and gets hit repeatedly. 2) At far range, using Bison, press crouch kick repeatedly. He will throw the down SP 3 hit fireball. Perfect head stomping time.
No problem. It wouldn't have felt as good if I didn't earn every last BP. Plus, I don't mind losing to good players. Unfortunately that's what happened the few times I played during the Patriots commercials tonight. For the first time in awhile I ran into back-to-back-to-back strong Sagats and wasn't ready for the rush downs. Dhalsim is all about timing (to me) and when I'm off on my timing I have a lot of trouble with good rush downs. I've had some luck lately against Bisons. Obviously fireballs are out almost completely, but I actually find that jumping a lot keeps them off guard because I can teleport around most of their counters. It also depends a lot on the style of the particular Bison. Bison definitely does catch me off guard sometimes though when he connects a couple times early and drops my Dhalsim to under half health. It's a very uphill battle at that point. Anyway, I'm probably not around until later in the week but I'll shoot you an invite if I see you online. Not even sure how that works. Do invites have to be accepted in Gamecenter?
My Dhalsim gets crushed by rushdowns as well, even from Ryus. He has an optimal range -- about 3/4 screen or so. Anything less than 1/3 screen distance and he's not in a good place.
Just wanted to let everyone participating in the tournament know that *clears throat* ROUND TWO MATCHUPS ARE UP!! *coughs*
Can't you teleport out of some of that? I don't really play Dhalsim so I don't know that character as well, but can't you teleport full screen away if you need to?
His ranges are (if facing right): a- directly in front of opponent b- directly behind opponent c- left-edge of the current screen d- 1/3 of the screen, on the left. If an opponent is rushing or crossing-up, then a, b, and d are all within the middle third of the screen. Only option is c, which moves you towards the corner, and at best, gets you about half-screen away from the opponent (since he was in the middle of the screen rushing you).
I actually like Dhalsim matchups with Ryu. I have more trouble against Ken personally. I can typically teleport in and out against Ryu, giving me more control of the match. I find that baiting and anticipating SRKs is easy against many Ryu/Ken players, although Dhalsim doesn't have great punishes. And timing is always so important with Dhalsim. I see a lot of other Dhalsim's not jump -> teleporting or jump -> punching at quite the right moments. add me on GC if you ever want to compare. I'm currently around 1,400 BPs. For some reason I think I remember that you're higher? Anyway, my ID is Jibba Junior if you're interested.
Looks like I only see sigs if I'm logged in, say to post. I only log in like 20% of the time, so that won't work as a solution. : (
Looks like we all will have a fun time! DAMN if only there's a way to youtube the replays without jailbreaking...
Just uploaded one of the matches I had with mikkel1977, the one I actually won after losing two matches to his Bison... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLXE2LRpzio
