No problem! Next time will use him all the way. I'm still about 100+ short of 1k using him!

EDIT: thx for that few rounds from your office. Damn the lag was bad, half of the time I thought we were using dhalsim instead of Bison, haha! No worries, BP back to 2k already after meeting some Akumas in the morning...

Your Bison can have more variety, you can try the following:
    1) jump kick, crouch kicks, devil reverse into ex- headstomp or psycho crasher.
    2) jump but dun kick high, go into crouch kick immediately instead
    3) jump and crouch kicks, if blocked, move fwd to grab. Can EX psycho also as usually you will fly to the end of the screen and out of most retaliation moves
    4) vertical jump up if I know u r jumping towards me. Works great against Abel who usually jumps or roll towards you.
    5) crouch kicks into Focus Attack works sometime if opponent keeps blocking. But beware as Bison devil reverse or even his crouch kicks can crash your FA

so I've started to play akuma, thinking that if I meet another akuma spammer, I'll just spam back with more skill.
BUt he's so much fun to play! Teleporting out of spinning piledrivers, doing that jump throw
    FUn times!

I figured out a few REALLY powerful combos for Akuma this morning. I hope I have them down enough to pull them off in multiplayer... as if people don't quit on me enough already:(

    just went up against shoryutofu.

    Jeezes.

    1 win.

    19 losses.

Guy is a saint to keep letting me practice, but dear god.

    Played pretty much every char.

His gief rocked my sagat. rocked my blanka. rocked my everything.

Got one win, playing keep-away lameness as akuma, using EVERY lame trick in the book - EVERY lame trick. Game of my life. Even with all of that, I barely won with a SLIVER of hp.

    This guy is insane.

If that does happen and we go down to 16, then we can restart the tournament for a double elimination? *crosses fingers*

I'm guessing it includes a double roundhouse or a diving kick as a startup then follows up with a SRKor low kick -> tatsu -> SRK.

That guy is the beastiest player I've met so far. Very solid Gief and Blanka iirc. All the matches came down to the wire and it was decided by whoever made a small mistake.

I would think your Blanka would stand up pretty well against him...

You give my blanka too much credit. I took a round or two from him (started finding out his weaknesses - he likes to do a low sweep on your wakeup, he also has problems blocking a blanka cross-up because he can't lariat fast enough most of the time, and blanka's crouch kick > lariat), but I don't know how much of a chance I really had.

Since he doesn't have the achievement yet for 15 wins w/o auto block off, I've been using sweeps to great effect. I don't use autoblock, so I have no idea how much it might help out, but I may start using it if it would help me get even half that good. That's my only advice. Like I said, only took one win off him.

What happened to the Bison Standing Kick (or was it Sagat Standing Kick) tactic against Gief?

Not sure about Sagat's standing kick but Bison's standing kick was worthless. He would EX command grab me. He was able to figure out my tendencies pretty quickly and punish me HARD!

Your Blanka threw my game off; maybe I'm not used to facing off against Blanka or you're beast with him, I'm sure it's the latter.

As for auto blocking on or off, for me it wouldn't matter when using Bison because if I'm on the defense, I would still be holding back/down-back to charge for the counter attack.

It's weird having the game block for you when you're neutral or holding down (more of a Tekken feel to it). It just doesn't feel right when playing SF and having the blocking done for you. That's just me, but having auto block saves a lot of ppl on my cross overs.

I wish I knew how to play Makoto well, but I just cant seem to anti air consistently. Same reason I stopped playing Abel :(

All Makoto needs is to get in close, and she can wreak absolute havoc. Outside of range though, she's a mess. Esp vs fireballers and esp shotos.

She's got a great high (jump-tsurgi-standing punch-hayate) low (low punch-hayate) throw (karakusa-ultra/other stuff) mixup game but she cant anti air well which sucks against people who jump in alot which is pretty popular online. And shes got no solid anti fireball options.

Im using honda alot lately. Hes crazy good.

Just saw that KOF-i is 4.99. Does anyone recommend getting it while on sale? Would it help my game in volt or ruin it? Is it more fun to play offline?

So, after fighting through over 1,000 matches and hoards of ragequitters over the past couple months, I finally got within one win of 1,500 BPs. I battled a Ryu named Laches1s with 1,245 BPs and pulled out a great win in 3, only to have him ragequit. I then battled an Akuma named asswooper11 with 1,357 BPs (24-2) and again pulled out a great win in 3, only to be ragequit on again. I expect this against players with <1,000 BPs, but I finally thought I was safe from ragequitters. I also noticed that asswooper11 seems to have found a way around the penalty or is a hacker. He had 10 ranked quits out of 20 (plus mine) but still has a 24-2 record with 1,357 BPs.

Anyway, I wanted to get that vent out. Hopefully attempt number 3 puts this achievement to rest.

It won't help you improve in Volt in the slightest.

That being said, it's a pretty decent fighter. I personally dislike the KoF series so I don't play it much, but if you're into fighting games it's well worth the coin, especially since they added 6 new characters a few days ago in an update.

It plays much different from Volt. The timings and inputs feel more strict to combo. It uses the same type of shortcut to do KoF version of Ultra's/Super.

All in all, if you like fighting games, get it.

I like the KOF series in general, although the last iterations I really invested in was around the 2002/2003 revisions. There was probably a period when I played more KOF than SF as well, when KOF still had updates while Capcom only had the Vs games.

There's a lot more speed and rush-downs in KOF in general, but not as much as Guilty Gear or BlazBlue. Everything's a lot more flashy. CViper is very very close to being a KOF-designed character, right down to the super-jump and excessive flames.

That being said, I really haven't spent much time with the iOS port of KOF. I know there's Bluetooth matching, but not sure about wifi global matching -- I don't think the latter has been implemented.

I might just get it. I play rushdown characters almost exclusively (been using Honda lately, but i use him offensively :p) and it could just be a bit of fun. And no, theres no online mp :(. I wouldve already bought it if there was.

Damn Mooken you got #3000. Let me be 3001 instead.

Jibba, add me and PM me for a match or 2. I can donate some BPs to you. Think I'm in the 2k range.

Snooper; it's the timing of makotos anti-air punch thingy. I think it's suppose to be timed slightly later? Not too sure, bit my Bison, if jumped, will get that punch in the air thing, air kick, and ex hayate punch. Many times. And that's coming from a Bison with some decent kicks.

Maybe it's something we havent discovered. But his GC ID is posted, you can try adding him. Shootinglife.
