You just have to walk up, wait for half a second, then hadoken. Or ⬇↘➡ (hold) P before the input expires. The first method has a hitch. You could also just do Db, Mk, Hadoken. EDIT: better yet, just do half circle forward, fireball. Chatzy is this website. You just go on, and talk with others. EDIT: Ryu Challenge! Do a combo with four focus attacks, and one jump attack. You only have four bars of meter. EDIT: You also need an Ultra Combo as well. It's character specific. Just use against Zangief.
was on Friendly earlier and suddenly, a wild 0kills appeared... games were just getting started bro, why quit on me?
I could work against that over Auto Guard any day. You have to at least put in some effort with SP Assist. Just because it's on does not guarantee you a win or anything as you can have it on and still suck. Auto Guard does stuff for you when you aren't even touching anything. It's always hilarious for me to start randomly kicking or punching and seeing my opponent keep flinching over and over while standing completely still. "I hate crossups! Help me Capcom!"
That's how I think too! Other people say that Auto Guard is okay, but they SP assist is bad. Some people even say they use auto guard, but actually block, does that matter?
I think Auto Guard is worse of the two. That's my opinion though. If a person is already blocking, what do they need to have it on for? That brings on bad habits when it comes to blocking if you rely on it for too long. When it comes to SP Assist, I personally feel that if I'm using a charge character, I can't really say much on it. Reason being, it's a lot less frustrating to hold back and hit forward and an attack button, than it is to do the whole Shoryuken motion. You don't need SP Assist to do that in the heat of battle in this game. Also, going back to charge vs a motion, charge is a lot more forgiving in a match with lag than SP Assist off is. No one can say how frustrating it is to be in the middle of a motion and you see the game lag and the V-Pad reset or just stick in an area. When it comes to charge, it can kill off a quick charge, but usually you're holding back anyway so you have a chance to block. The V-Pad is just too unreliable sometimes. 9 times out of 10, you're not going to have a pure match in Volt. Someone's going to have one of the two assists, or both, at the same time. That's how it is. You can both have Auto Guard off and SP Assist on, or one can have both off and the other have just SP Assist on, and still have great matches. The only way you're going to get a pure game with no auto block and SP assist is by playing AE on PS3, 360, or PC. (Disclaimer: This does not include people that have specialized controllers or use turbo)
I feel that SP assist helps you. Auto Block does things for you that normally you couldn't do, such as blocking an obvious crossup. I just dislike Auto Block. It changes the way an offensive player has to play.
a big LOL moment right there. Sp assist is fine on my books. it evens the playing field for the less hardcore players
Agreed. It also is the #1 reason why this game is as popular as it is on iOS. Performing all moves and combos manually (and I've tried many, many times) is just hard. Most players would give up and move on to another game, given the nature of iOS gaming, rather than put in the time necessary to learn how to do all the inputs properly. Hell, many players can't pull off combos properly even with SP assist. The lack of a controller just adds a signifiant level of difficulty. That said, the day this gets iCade or some other form of a real controller is likely the day I give it up. I'm simply not going to buy a controller for an iOS game and don't want to be at a disadvantage to those who do. Anyway, props to those who play SP assist off. At times I think it's pointless and/or a detriment, but that takes serious skill.
If SP assist is for the less hardcore players, then sp assist shouldn't be allowed on ranked match. This game is already way easier than AE. Auto guard, sp, 2 attack buttons -FA, thats a handicap. 8 buttons can easily fit into an iphone screen. Go in volt, go in button configuration, thenput the 4 buttons horizontally in the bottom right corner, then imagine another set of 4 buttons right on top. Playable? Where's Xion on this topic?
Lets face it. Volt is not meant to be taken that seriously. You can't take this seriously. You just can't. I tried to and I gave up on taking it seriously. It's a phone game. It's supposed to be easier than AE. * The game has one push ultras and supers * The background doesn't move * Every character doesn't have their full moveset * It uses a V-Pad where you use your thumb and can stick * You have auto guard * You have SP Assist * The game is laggy 98% of the time * It won't be at EVO. The last event that the android version was featured in, crashed multiple times during matches. I understand the SP Assist thing and all, but it's just how the game is. You can't knock someone using what they're given in a casual game. That's not fair to do. It's a choice thing. You choose to use no SP Assist, okay. They choose to use it, okay. It's a choice. The game is just SSF4's little brother on a phone. I've used it to learn new combos that I can apply in AE, which works sometimes. I hate Auto Guard, but can I stop someone from using it? No. So, I can either play the game and win, like I try to do, or stop playing. I have SFxTK. Tried the game, got tired of stuff involving the gems and getting too casual friendly, among other stuff like jab jab jab, and I just stopped playing the game. I'm not going to knock anyone else that likes SFxTK because I don't. It's your view, but it's unfair to put down those that do use it, because it's what Capcom gave us. Don't hate the player, hate on the game on this one. If you don't want to play me anymore for my view on this, that's fine. I don't mind. I changed my stance on this game not too long ago when I figured that the game wasn't meant to be taken seriously in the first place. Just something for SF fans to use and take with them everywhere they go and fight anyone in the world without killing your wallet in the process.
Sheeetttt, all this jibberish about sp assist this, auto block that, yak yak. Try my assist: a bottle of vodka/scotch, just an arm length's away. Oh yeah, that's where the real SP assist is at. To anyone who's ever fought me, the above is a straight confession. Now you all know why you might have had "what the f**k is this guy doing? Whats the strategy????" cross your mind while you fought me. Ok, now go ahead and criticize me.
Exactly! If you suck then sp assist and autoblock is fine, learn the game and the fundamentals. But once you reach a certain level, sp assist and autoblock is essentially a cheat and is akin to auto aim in a fps. I like playing lessor players that use sp assist and autoblock but the good players really shouldn't be using those crutches (especially true of "good" akuma and zangief users).
Yes but in AE doing combos is just as hard and that's what separates the scrubs from the pros. The only difference from AE and volt is that AE doesn't have a cheat mode, aka sp assist, autoblock, ultra, and a super or focus button.
Hey Darryl just finished work and got home to check what the world is saying before the dumb cycle continues tomorrow!! If it were up to me everyone would be on a level playing field, making equal efforts to play the game. Back when I had SF4 (that first game), I never used any of the assists simply because I didn't know they existed UNTIL VOLT. When I found out about it and tried to use it, it completely ruined my rhythm (hense why I never use it to this day). SP assist, auto block and Ultra assist are all the same in my book. Unlike many others here I don't have a console and AE, MK, SC5 and Tekken 6. There's a reason for this: it takes up a lot of my time = bad student, socialiser etc. So I try and make up for this by being good at the first available fighting game. I played MK9 ONCE with my cousin, the next day I was perfecting combos set by Tyler Lantern on YouTube!!! So its better I play something toned down... ANYWAY back to Volt!! I don't hold grudges against people who use SP assist like I used to...but I doesn't mean I don't look down on it...e.g. The typical high bp, OP strategy, tier hoe Sagat player, not many people have seen my Sagat but if you ever do, that's a real Sagat not these ROBOTS!! Nothing is worse than a player who uses specials LIKE THEY'RE NORMALS!!! An SP noob can easily be distinguished by their lack of knowledge of how to use normals. I absolutely agree that there should be a 6 button layout in Volt, that would rock!! More combos and mix ups etc. Darryl: To walk forward and do Hadoken (a problem I used to face a lot).... Forward, diagonal down (backwards), fireball motion. Can a SP assist player tell you that? No because they don't learn anything new (another con). I would discuss more but I really gotta go :-( :-( Will check back later!! Let me know how it goes Darryl!!
One of the things I hate most is when I get a banner alert while playing and I can't tell how much meter I have for a combo...
If there's one thing that iOS has screwed up on, it's a "All Notifications Off" setting. Why you have to manually go through every single app and turn notifications off, on each one, is beyond me.
So I'm going to come the other way on this. I block manually, because well, that's just the habit from 20+ years of SF. When TenOnez comes at me with an overhead on my wake-up, I'm likely already blocking low so the AutoGuard won't kick in -- alternately, if he's hitting low/trip, the AutoGuard also won't kick in if I let the computer decide for me. Where AutoGuard has been a lifesaver, is when the lag is SO horrendous, I see a fireball from across the screen, start blocking, but the direction doesn't register in time. Yea, I've had matches THAT bad (Australia and Vietnam, I'm looking at you). It's certainly possible to abuse AutoGuard on the wake-up cross-ups, but I haven't made a habit of it -- it's such an odd habit to learn.
Combos will always be harder without a joystick and physical buttons. The truth is that there are no pros in Volt because it was never meant to be a full SF installment. Capcom knew the limitations of the iPhone and worked within them. If they didn't, the game would have bombed. As far as I'm aware, KOF uses a similar special moves button, also because of the iPhone's limitations. Plus, the SP assist helps adjust for the fact that some characters are simply harder to play than others due to the the touch screen controls
