Hey everyone new guy here my gcid is seekheart and I was wondering if anyone can teach me how to play better and be a better Yun? I've been dropping bp recently due to either cheaters/laggers/ or a bad connection >.<!

TenOnez just posted recently, so I reckon he'll see your message.

I'm curious as to why console players also play on iOS quite seriously. I imagine the challenge is fun in itself. Funny how after playing on iOS, I try to use iOS controls on the PC version, heh. I'm sure after some practice that is not a problem.

I think the matchup knowledge transfers, though. I like how Capcom retained a lot of SF4 in the iOS version. This game is awesome.

We have alot of types. Some people play AE alot. Some people have never played AE. Personally, I used to play arcade but not since the place I went to got rid of their cabs. iOS is alot easier to play games and I dont own any relevant console

I'd love to see how TenOnez plays Cody on AE

0-Felix-0 has a mean yun. TenOnez is also high up there. I suggest looking up replays if nothing else

Good games! Took me long enough to find you on PSN lol. I used to be a a lot better with Guy when Super first came out, but I don't play AE as much as I do Volt nowadays. I still retained most of my stuff with Fei though, thankfully and I'm just now practicing with Cody to get him up to speed.

Also, since I've spent so much time away from SF4, on console, I've gotten a bit rusty on the PS3 version.

You still played well though lol. I could tell Juri was your best one. She gave me the most problems.

Okay, so you're going to stick, good choice. You're going to hate it at first. And by hate it, you're probably going to want to go to your pad from time to time. You just have to stay with it and practice. It just takes time. The amount of time doesn't matter, it's the end result that counts. You'll get it. It took me some months to get comfortable with it. It felt so good to complete MvC3 challenges with my stick instead of my pad.

For Cody, he feels better to use on a stick than a pad, because I can hold down a punch with one of my fingers and attack with the rest comfortably for his Zonk Knuckle. I can't do the fingers thing on a pad like some people can. Wolfkrone put in work to get that dangerously good with Viper on pad, but it shows that pad players are still just as dangerous.

When I started, I went back to my pad multiple times, because that's where I was comfortable, but since I invested $150 on a stick, I might as well learn it. Now I can't play well on a pad anymore. I think you'll like it. There are hundreds of tips and videos out there for beginning stick players.

For Harlequin's question of my Cody play in AE, I.. think I'm pretty aggressive with him. I switch so much on the fly that I don't know for sure and I just started trying to learn him. I love pressuring people and he fits in that aspect. Trying to read up on what all he can do right now. Gotta work on my timing with the jumping hp to jawbreaker, cr. mp, and whatever I want to end it with.

My biggest accomplishment was doing Fei's down forward kick into his super with my stick, I could do it a lot on pad. It's a great way to catch people off guard and put some good damage in.

You could practice with me. I main Yun, the alternative Yun (LOL).
Felix and TenOnez are a little harder to catch, they're the two players you really want to look out for. Look them up on GC and download their replays. Also nashberry has some cool Yun replays, check him out too.

DON'T use my replays for inspiration - you'll end up with AA addictions like never before.

    Cody AE combos:
St hp, cr mp xx criminal upper
Cr jab (x2), cr lk xx criminal upper
    Crack kick, medium ruffian kick
Stomach blow, mp xx criminal upper (I think)
Cr hp (ch) xx ex bad stone, whatever. You can fish aroun with this alot for ch

Don't bother using jaw crusher unless it is anti air. You have much better options.

Cody is really good on pressure. Pretty much any combination of moves acts as a frame trap. And then you can add tick throws to beat online scrubs

No msger for GC, you can leave messages on BN but that's crappy.

Your Yun has great potential, just keep up the training. You have the same problem I had at the start - too many uppercuts. It's a good way to escape but easily pubishable by more experienced players.

Can you give me suggestions on how to train and what are other possible escapes?

Work on basic moves: forward kick for example. Lots of fighters have the habit of crouching and you can hit em then and make em panic. Use dive kick to start combos (watch replays of TenOnez for that one) - I usually avoid the dive kick cause the lag ####s with the combos usually :(
For players jumping in don't escape with uppercut so often, use that back kick - even when they hit you mid air they'll bounce off your kick and you can pull off combo.
Basically, practice using just the K and P buttons!!! In our match you used practically only the SP moves. Watch tons of replays and see.

    The low tier.
    TenOnez,

Played that StrikeBlast in some Makoto mirrors today. We split 5-5. He is good, had some neat tricks that I hadnt seen before.

Sagat is a really really really horrible character. Do not expect to win this very much. I recommend that you stick to Yun's BnB + Tetsuzanko to chip. If you block his Tiger Uppercut, walk under him and then ultra. If you block his Tiger Knee (two hits, if you block only one hit, disregard this), Ultra or Target Combo 1 + Nishokyaku.

I've noticed, I had to use Akuma to counter sagat. It's soo annoying to play cat and mouse Tiger Tiger Tiger!!! >.<!!!

Akuma isn't exactly a counter to Sagat. I think the matchup is sort of even, unless you make mistakes. One mistake will probably lead you to lose a lot of your health. A LOT.

generally for me it's the one matchup I like playing because akuma's fireballs beats tiger, and generally it's more comfortable especially in lag city. Felix would you be down for a few games? I want to learn to be a better yun >.<!

Ah, the Shakunetsu Hadoken. Not really the best weapon against Sagat. While Sagat does have a slower jump than a lot of the characters, he will eventually catch on and start jumping over your fireballs and hit you with that absurd kick of his. If you're lagging, don't even play Akuma against Sagat.
I'm sorry, but I've retired the game. The latest update sealed the deal.
