I actually find it much easier to beat grueling Bison than to beat grueling Akuma. I've beat Bison several times with Zangief, but Akuma just destroys me every time. I think I've only beat him one round in many tries. That's the last achievement I need...
Any other Dhalsim players around? I do very well with him but want to continue improving. One of my biggest flaws is that I simply don't know a good punish move while standing. I am constantly baiting Kens and Ryus (a hell of a lot more Kens though) into an SRK with my teleports, but if I don't have a super or ultra to use, I simply lack a good punish move and end up going for a solo two-handed punch. I don't know why I haven't bothered to address this flaw of mine until now, but any advice would be appreciated.
I tend to just lowkick->flame a whiffed srk. once they're knocked down, throw a fire for the wake-up, and play mix-up with teleports/toss/punch. it's all about the knockdown.
blanka's sliding punch is stupid quick with range. it tends to hit CViper before any of her moves can even come out. gief does decent against blanka. it can be a complete toss-up against shotokanners.
Hey guys concerning the update , according to capcomunity they said they had some exciting things to show off next week(this week actually) aside from the fact that we already know Fei is coming , as well as a secret character. http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/08/30/street_fighter_iv_volt_update:_feilong Now what other exciting things could they have in the works to show us?? Full Retina support?? or Maybe the fact that its going to be three charts instead of the basic two we get for each update?? what do u think guys??
Hey guys do any of you notice that the online matches are way smoother now? They used to be OK, but now, the last 10 matches I played were all as smooth as when I'm playing offline.
I was thinking more along the lines of a standing combo. His noogie move (whatever the hell it's called) doesn't do a ton of damage. Plus, that move and his throw risk getting wake up SRKd by Kens (they often SRK right through my ultra if I get it out a split second too late).
Ultras get SRK's because there's maybe a 2-3 frame gap when the Ultra animation occurs. Noogie = 150dmg lowpunch-flame = 170dmg lowkick-flame = 160dmg
You won't get a time recorded for it, but you can get the 'Death Match Winner' achievement if fights are set to one round...
Thanks. I knew that about ultras but didn't have the technical terms to explain it. Is there a frame gap for the noogie? I may look into practicing a low punch-flame move which seems pretty straight forward, even if it doesn't do much more damage than the noogie. BTW, where do I find these numbers so I don't have to bug people around here? Thanks.
Just go to training room and turn on attack data. That's what I do to figure out all my max damage combos of jump ins and punishes from certain ranges etc. Also, Dhalsims ultra has slow startup, you can actually be grabbed out of it if you do it when they're right next to you. Use it to create space of you're trapped in the corner or as an anti air. A cool trick to do is when wou get a hard knockdown (throw/slide) backdash and let it rip. Then teleport in and mix up lots of highs and lows. If you connect 1 single attack the full ultra will hit.
Hi - I really like what you guys have going on here, I was wondering if i could sign up for the next tournament or if you have even thought of it yet? Ive been a kind of regular online player, trying to sharpen up my main character Guile. I also use Ryu, and like Dhalsim and Vega, though am pretty flawed with those two men. I can tell you TAers are damn skilled by all this detailed fight info and such. My Game Center Id is: <BURNTIDENTITY> Thanks alot!
Not Blanka so much as Honda. Honda's a braindead character if there ever was one and he does a lot of damage too. :-/ Hey rshkhsee, actually we need one more person to complete the tourney we're having right now! If I can confirm that at least one of those three guys I mentioned on the other page is joining, then you're in if you wanna be.
This is exactly the kind of thing that I'm not good enough at yet, since I haven't played any SF since SFII arcades way back in the day. I've finally got pretty good control of my supers and ultras (with Dhalsim, but with Guile I still haven't found the best times to use his), but I don't have enough diversity in my play which gets my in trouble with players with 1,000+ BP. Now I'm motivated to work on this and see if I can use it though. Thanks for the tip. Also, if anyone is in the mood to throw me any tips on connecting Guile's ultra and super, I'd really appreciated it.
