Oh, I understand all of that lol. I didn't mean that when I posted tho, tho I do like your opinion. I was just talking about the online parts of the games, not the actual games themselves.

KoF does have a lot of action though. I play it the same way I do Volt with mind games and pokes. Then again, with Volt, and Rog, I make it an offensive game. The difference with KoF is that you HAVE to know at least 3 characters and know their strengths and weaknesses. What move is safe and what isn't, etc. With Volt, you can focus on just 1 character throughout your whole Volt conquest.

Well in KOF, if you have 1 or two REAAALY strong characters, put them at mid and anchor and have your scrub first lol. Thats how I learned Mai and currently learning Kim lol.

KOF also rewards rushing more with emphasis on defense, even if you are on an offensive scale... Volt, if you for example, a Boxer player, against a Ryu Player, you have your gameplan, and know what to do, and how to avoid FB's and what not to do to get DP'd... in KOF, you can play some mind games, but usually a mashed out dp will either hit, and damage, or be blocked and pushed away... then again, thats similar to volt as well as a mashed out DP can be FADC'd backwards to allow space... Both games are similar enough for either player to enjoy, but you can't be a master at both... unless you are Justin Wong...

There ar no mind games in KoF at all which is what I really miss in Volt. People in KoF can mash as much as they like and get away with it. People mash on SP and Evade or any Button During Block strings without any fear because they know it works. The ability to break combos via Blowbacks is disgusting, the evade button is even more disgusting. No downloadable replays is still a Canker sore to me. Not being able to block during your landing animation is just...WTF!? Finding a match has become a chore.

I still love the game though, not better than Volt but I would still recommend this game to anyone. :D

People are abusing SP. When you notice that, bait them into doing something stupid and punish. They're going to mash something unsafe. They always do. People mashing attacks, just be patient and ease towards them. Evasive, you can tell when it's coming and I believe there is a window of time where they are vulnerable. Punish that too. Gotta know the best ways to punish depending on the situation.

Same stuff applies like it does in Volt. The difference is we're using different characters and have to figure them out so we know how to punish something with what move, like Volt. Trial and error and practicing. Besides, people are picking the same characters in KoF, which is helping me learn them and learn when and how to punish things.

    Replay thing I understand though.

I thought this was the KoF thread for a min lol.

Agreed. They're both pretty different games though so it's to be expected I guess.

Actually the main reason I save meter with Guile is in case I need the EX Booms. I've had so many matches where it gets down to the wire and the opponent (usually a Ryu/Akuma/Sagat player) decides to camp out and spam fireballs. So having a few EX booms to throw them off has won me a lot of matches.

Plus I love Super Canceling when I get the chance too! :D

Super is completely unusable. I've been developing some guile punishes
Flash Kick, FADC, EX Flash Kick 360/450
FA lvl 3, Flash Kick, FADC, EX Flash Kick 408/535
Jumping P, Flash Kick, FADC, EX Flash Kick 420/600

They all have RIDICULOUS stun. For 3 bars, anywhere on the screen when you can FADC Flash Kick. The only catch? SP assist only

    Comparison with super:
    Super 360/0
    FA lvl 3, Super 428/200
    Jumping P, Super 460/200

I screwed it up once, but it's completely unpunishable. I guess technically, even if you hold up after sweep, if lag eats up a few frames its punishable.

The main point is that if it cant be hit with a reversal.

Sonic Boom, EX Sonic Boom is possible without SP assist at longer distances (3/4 screen).

I'm now using SP assist just for the sheer absurd combos it allows. I guess you would classify as a semi-SP assist
