I've never played any version of the game, which is part of the reason why I'm a little hesitant. Plus, I still have faith that we'll see a new SF in the next couple months and I'll end up dumping KOF (which would be among the most expensive iOS games I've ever bought, not that it's solely about the money). I remember watching a video from the first iOS version and noticing the speed as the biggest difference and will definitely be checking out that thread if I can ever manage to catch up fully on this one.
Its because everyone has migrated. KoF servers are overloaded now while Volt looks like interstate 5 at 3am
The new league that started? Is there a thread for that thing? It's kind of hard to follow. If that's the case, I'll be around in a bit. Are there any rules that I need to know about? Any character restrictions?
Ok, so what's the consensus on KOF? Is lag really that bad of a problem? How is the transition from SF to KOF for someone who has never played KOF? What is the RQ situation like? Since I'm in my 30s and not as nimble as some others, will I be able to keep up? KOF seems faster and more focused on precise combos.
No restriction on char selection, play 7 matches, 1st match to test the connection, doesn't count. The other 6 matches do. At the end of this month, player should play every else in the division. Btw each match counts as a point, by the end of this month the top two player with most points promote to the next division.
Yes Jibba. It's quicker and more handy. But the bright side is that you can pretty much kill a chat with full meter and hd bar.
I played seven matches so far (friendly and ranked) and only noticed two lags. Those players, according to their names, they were Japanese players, so that might have influenced the lag? But so far, very positive experience. About RQers, not yet I have never played SF before I bought Volt and didn't took me long to get the hang of the game. True, the combos are complicated and long but you don't really have to use them. If you managed to use them, great but pulling the basing combos would suffice
So KOF was released in early July last year and got a new version earlier than expected (I think). Volt was released on June 29. I think we'll get a new version of SF by that time this year.
I had 1 RQ yesterday. Msg me when ur ready for the tourney Jibba Do u want to settle our tourney too wedia?
www.twitch.tv/leveluplive/b/315554004 tourney from a few wks ago. good stuff to watch, to get a sense of KOF style & rhythm. keep watching, and the commentators good a decent job explaining some of the moves and bars. after i watched the vid live a few wks ago, everything made a lot more sense.
Actually, Duo Lon plays a LOT like Sim, along with a Rekka x 3. long-distance arms + legs, mid-air stretchy arms + legs, pseudo-teleports that lets him behind ppl mid-combo. Sim zoning doesn't work too well in KOF though, as far as I've seen, but you could make it work! Esp since everyone has the on-block counters to relieve pressure now.
