Yes, they COULD have made them animated, but on the iPhone it would be extremely distracting. It would also take time and money to have these backgrounds animated. You're paying anywhere from .99$-7$ for Volt, whereas the console version will cost you 40$ (since the re-release for Arcade Edition). Big difference, don't forget, Capcom is first and foremost a business. If they can get away with not having to pay someone to animate backgrounds, they'll do it. And, if it REALLY, REALLY means that much to you, you can download the Capcom Arcade app and buy the Ports of SFII, SFIICE or SuperSFII which include the animated backgrounds (although they play poorly with the touchscreen controls, but you can play three times for a free a day to give it a whirl).

Yeah it's hard to say with Capcom as they usually don't have the best translators on the job... So it's hard to tell if it's just a bad translation, or if they mean it as it's written. Either way, least I got Jetpack Joyride to keep me entertained until the update. If it's JUST Fei Long, I think it'll be out sometimes this week, if they added in some "hidden" (read: E. Ryu) character, chances are it's a bad translation and it'll be out "mid-September".
let´s hope this supposed smtg coming up next week , is about E.Ryu , maybe the addition of more stages (deserted temple would be cool even though is there but u cant select it), and who knows maybe they decide to implement full retina support i mean the app icon , as well as the menus look neat and sharp already. is that retina or not??
They usually bring out at least 2 characters with each update so it's almost guaranteed we'll get Fei and someone else. I really do hope they put in another non-shoto character, but it seems like each update has brought one non-shoto and another shoto. On a completely unrelated note, it might be a fun thing to have a little online tournament here on Touch Arcade. We could have everyone paired up and people could contact each other to figure out a good time to play their matches and report the outcome. If anyone knows how to extract/upload replays, we could even have a match video thread too! Might be a good way for people to get to know each other a bit too. Does that sound like something any of you guys might be interested in?
We should have a little tournament. If not that, then a league haha. Who else is interested? It could be 16 or 32 people? On the match videos, I would be willing to help out, but my replays get really choppy at times and it really pisses me off when the video lags for 1 second and you miss that 1 second of action. Maybe someone else can step in the role?
I'm in. Should we consider using Google Spreadsheets to set up the matches, add contact info, and update results? That way we don't have a zillion messages going on here.

in my opinion update will be released next week, wednesday or thursday. Maybe Fei Long and Evil ryu, but don't forget about "reserve". It could be another fighter!
There won't be a set time for the entire tournament to happen at once. The best way I think will work out is all the matchups go at their own pace so the only arrangement you will have to make is with the player you're going against. If all of it were to happen at the same time, I don't think many of us would be able to play since we're all scattered around the world. Currently interested in a tournament: 1. DoctaMario 2.
