Played Zindeptrai today. Hes alright not much of a skill Sagat, beside spamming fbs. 2-3 for him because of the lag I missed a few combos.

GGs, you should play the annoyed sagat or akuma. Then Ill show u how to defeat them with guile. Save the replays to watch later if you will.

if you want more different styles, i suggest harley, slcr, police vietnam. Those guys main guile. Guile is not my main, just for personal pleasure lol

you see guile has some speed advantage, that says more overhead jump and grabs. stand kick fireball kick. low kick foward punch, low punch, jump low punch low punch upper, fdac, stand punch, jump .... Also, avoid the corners, they are not your friends.

i think you should play defensive first, just to get the combos and other moves down.

note: maybe later. the connection is getting worse now. u are in the learning curve so dont hesitate to do wild things, explore it yourself. but like i said earlier, always charge back downward. the style is the key to which moves and how to use them. Guile aggressor will take more risk, while guile defender will experience more fbs.

The first thing I will say is, learn to do (Jumping P), Standing P xx Sonic Boom, Sweep. It's the bread and butter combo for Guile. Learn to do it jumping in, and with a neutral jump

I lose 3:7 to the top jap guile player. Guile is the death match to Gief. He could perfectly zone Gief by simple move. Sonic boom--> standing punch(as anti air move). When i use green hand to counter sonic boom, he grab me immediately. Can't find the way to crack this simple but effective strategy.

You beat my guile handily when I do that!

I think, from Gief perspective, don't jump. Just walk forward and block

As I said in the MvC2 thread, if this has online multiplayer, it'll be another game we can spar at! :)

NOOOOOOO!!!!! I'm gonna miss drunk Arya???? Fuuuuuuuccccc...... :( Damn, I need to get some broadband at my house so I can experience these things firsthand. :p

Hahahahahaha! I'm hoping you saved some replays!

    Guile stuff...

Don't play too defensive. Guile has a lot of great tools that make him effective at all different ranges, but I think he plays best in poking range, because he's got a couple seriously good pokes (standing Kick and crouching Kick). He has a lot of great normals and his throws are excellent, excellent foot speed and recovery, and he jumps pretty quickly. He can do a good bit of damage, especially with the combo Harlequin mentioned here....

If you just hold back and throw Sonic Booms, you're not playing him as effectively as he can be played. Guile can't win fireball fights against characters like Ryu, Akuma, or Sagat, or zone people out as well as they can, so a mixture of hanging back and throwing booms, then moving in to attack is probably the best way to play. Most players figure you'll just throw endless booms so if you're the least bit aggressive, you can really catch them off guard.

Flash Kick sucks compared to other SF games. It's rather unreliable as an anti-air, so don't rely on it to get you out of tight spots, but EX Flash Kick can be pretty effective. His DF+P uppercut is one of his best anti-airs if the opponent is right on top of you, but if they're jumping in from a little further away, -->+K (standing roundhouse) is also a good one.

His Ultra is VERY situational to say the least. Lately I've been using it as an anti-air, but only when I KNOW it's going to hit.

Yes. The 3 matches I won is I am very patient. But Sanjuro ( the top jap guile player) was clever enough to keep me in distance.

Um...this involve the greatest problem to mine. To those who had matches with me will notice that I only use EX green hand on Player 1 position. Coz I can't do it in Player2 side.( The weakness of me..>____<) The matches I had with him was unluckily in assigned as Player2 position. Without ex green hand, i can't crack his sonic boom.

    Trrrrrripple post!! :p

Who is the top jap Guile player? ninjaedit: Nevermind.

The best way to get around Guile's Booms that that I can see (and I was just messing around with it in Training Mode) is just to FADC through them when you're closer up and try to get in an SPD. Because the booms are so slow, it makes it difficult to get around them with lariats and jumping over them is certain death. So FADC seems like the answer, and with Gief's greater amount of stamina, that's a safer option for him than it would be for almost anyone else.

Well you crushed the best Cammy from US easily in your last match. I bet Felix feels as you do when you play SLRC. :D

I've finally passed a milestone in SF4V. I finally cracked 2000 BP. Now you might laugh, but I'm really pretty bad at playing Ranked so this was a challenge for me, but i finally did it. On the Japanese server anyway.

I really have to say, I think the best competition is on our own server. There are some good Japanese players and they have better manners as far as RQing goes, but there's a world of difference between 2500 bp player on the jap server and on the world server. I'm smoking 2k, 3k, and even 4k players over there that just don't seem to be able to adjust to BnB combos. We have more players on ours than they do so I think that has something to do with it, but I was able to get over 2K pretty easily and I'm not really an amazing player myself. Not saying there aren't any good players, but I just haven't faced any that have really made me say, "Wow!"

Oh...Seems it is the only way to counter the sonic boom. My gief is lacking the skill of using fadc. It seems the time to train that to perfect my gief ability.

    His GCID is 桑畑三十郎

Definitely the most defensive guile player. Much much better than PV.
