Yea i agree with u though , that sagat player did not know what was going on . not until he found out he gave himself to much to the spamming and forgot about a ton of other weapons sagat has at his disposal to counter that particular Gief
I love it and hate it at the same time, I love it because online matches r too much fun, but since I got it I have spent all my free time playing online and haven't played any other game on my phone lately. =
using a move besides standing roundhouse, tiger uppercut and low/high tiger shot against gief is completely unnecessary. Maybe a tiger knee if he likes to foucs your fireballs Btw sorry for not having a game yesterday, i cant find my ipod :S
Try Cammy. Shes pretty popular on the console versions for a reason, but no one seems to use her online, which is always good. Characters that don't get used much online can sometimes confuse people. I was playing a balrog the other day and he had no answer to me just divekicking all day, but Balrog is probably cammys worst matchup. Anyway shes just really solid. Slightly below average life (950) but she has a really good dp, hard hitting combos, a divekick and an easy fadc combo into ultra. Shes also pretty good at countering fireball spammers with her divekicks, EX hooligan and EX spiral arrow. And her dashes are great, especially her backdash. I use cammy and abel 50/50 nowdays. Theyre both really good. Ask me if you have any questions about either in regard to matchups, hardest hitting combos or whatever, i love to help
is it? from the capcom-unity website it was mentioned the update was released (submitted?) earlier this week? http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/08/30/street_fighter_iv_volt_update:_feilong?pref_tab=Hub and supposedly there's smtg next week as well according to that article
So in the console versions its step kick-standing hard punch-cancel first hit into change of direction-either continue change of direction OR FADC-crouching hard punch-ultra/falling sky. i dont thibk its possible to do that step kick-hard punch combo on iphone version unless its a counter hit though. it was really tough in console versions so maybe its just me but i dont think so. anyway his bnb in volt is crouching medium kick-change of direction-continue change of direction OR FADC-crouching hard punch-falling sky/ultra. you can combo the crouching medium kick off a jumping hard kick. this is safe on block if you dont follow through with the change of direction. another option is jumping hard punch-crouching hard punch-falling sky/ultra. this is a bit more risky though as jumping hard punch has less range so it puts you in range of more anti air moves, but does more damage than the first combo(assuming you dont do the FADC option). his main punich for wiffed/blocked dps and other easily punishable moves is crouching hard punch-falling sky/ultra. this is also applies to focus crumples. one thing to note with that combo (and the one in the above paragraph) is that if the opponent is in the corner you should do wheel kick instead of falling sky/ultra. This is because it will keep them in front of you unlike falling sky and ultra wont connect. it does slightly less damage though. even though you cant combo off step kick, its still one of his best pressure tools, as it puts you right in their face (where abel wants to be). it leaves you at a slight frame advantage if blocked, and most people dont know what to do against it. the best thing to do is go for a normal throw (tornado throw comes out slightly slower and has MUCH more recovery) if they block it or just block if they are dp happy. you can combo the step kick off crouching light punch which is handy. cr. lp X3-step kick is a nice blockstring. abels best anti air is his standing hard punch. it will beat most things clean if timed correctly. also his crouching medium kick can be used to hit people who will land in front of you. a cool thing i noticed the other day while trying stuff out in the training room is that if you do a crouching hard punch anti air and it trades (both of you get hit) you can ultra. you have to delay the ultra a bit, so just test it out in training before you try that online. a cool thing against zangief (against anyone really, but particularly zangief) is that your tornado throw beats ANY throw in the game. this includes giefs super and ultra. all his throws start up a bit quicker, but it can catch the gief by surprise if you predict it (after a blocked or hit green hand and empty jumpins are the most common times for throws). remember that abel has pretty poor defense, so try and keep on your opponent. DONT JUMP IN. his forward dash is the best in the game so try focusing through stuff and using your step kick to get in on opponents who are trying to keep you out any other questions dont hesitate to ask
I think capcom will announce the next character, for now only Fei long has been announced, so the update will be released in mid semptember! In every update fighters are always 2!
so i played a few games with zangief, and i must say that he is one of the funniest characters to play ) so far i played cammy (favorite character, and near perfect record ) (retired), ryu (retired) , akuma (retired)! i tried all the characters (obvious), but i really want to decide on one to play the next 100 games with and learn to play him well! any suggestions? i was considering c. viper, chun li, makoto, cody
viper, abel or makoto if youre not going to use cammy. but thats just me, i like rushdown characters. honda and guile are really good too, but honda has some trouble against fireball characters which can be troublesome online. edit: viper is probably the best out of the first three, but personally i prefer using abel. makoto is kind of like a high risk high reward character from what i read in forums.
well, played vs stomping bison, just jumping, but without system, from time to time landing overhead kicks, easy win vs players who relays on special moves. it's actually funny how some people sometimes want to use only special kicks. another play vs about 900bp Chun-Li, opp charges and i do jump and kicks. than just jumping around him - doing the same and same again. in second match of course he adjusted the strategy. finally started to use normal kicks without trying to charge the moves. but still it was funny. and again MP at night is one big lag, some games just disconnect and some just are like 1 sec per frame. but more annoying is because of lags i lost first time vs abel, usually the easy matchup for sagat. however it's funny when after such extremely laggy matches opps choose to continue.
yea i dont get that when that happens to me. its funny how even in EXTREMELY laggy games people dont want to quit because of the BP loss. it turns into a game of chicken lol. Who will get fed up with lag and quit first?
deejay was in the original SF im pretty sure. and they announced a 'Secret Character' which turned out to be Akuma.
