Grrrrrrr i have every single title except the one below decent fighter and hondas third one. Hate that random generator A question to all you bison players out there. What character gives you the most trouble and what sort of strategy works best against you (rushdown, turtling, poking etc.). I have loads of trouble against bison with abel. Edit: I have trouble getting in on him with his great standing roundhouse. I also dont know what to do if I block a scissor kick. And just what are his general weaknesses?
I've loved, played, and defended this game against it's (many) detractors ever since it came out. But I'm afraid it's got to the point where I must concede the oft-repeated slander - this game is a joke. It wasn't, before the update. But online is basically unplayable now, the lag is such an issue. I very rarely have a match that isn't dramatically affected by lag now - again, game-crippling lag was the exception, not the rule, before the update*. I'm sick of games developing into rounds of 'guess when the freeze will end'. I'm sick of getting hit by moves and combos I know are coming because my block doesn't come out. I'm sick of throwing moves twice because I thought that the first one hadn't registered. I'm sick of moves coming out a full second after the input. It's good practice at developing my psychic dragon punches, I suppose, but it's not good for developing anything else. I know I'm not very good at this game, but I'm not going to get any better when I'm unable to perform combos, moves, even jumps properly. There is no improvement to be gained from this choppy mess. If I wanted arbitrary moves, jerky gameplay, and general frustration I'd play Mortal Kombat. So, basically, the single-player is pointless and multi-player is unplayable. Ace. I've had a break from this for a week or so while I polished off the achievements on The King of Fighters-i 002 (a game that, while it looks and controls fantastically, really shows off how good Street Fighter IV Volt's AI is) and had six seven or eight matches today. And half of them were actually unplayable - only one wasn't entirely dominated by the lag. I did beat two different (and higher-scored) Zangiefs, however, which you know is unusual for me! I'm just really frustrated that, the way things are at the moment, I'm unable to play in a way that will allow me to improve - making me wonder what the point of playing at all is. Maybe the next update will fix what the last one broke (after all, I still need to get to 1,500 BP - fat chance of that happening at the moment). I hope so. But, an improbable achievement and several stupidly-random-to-obtain titles aside, I really don't see me spending much time with this anymore. Which is a real shame. Fingers crossed for the next overhaul. Gah (and sorry to rant )! ETA: Just tried a couple of Friendly matches. Just as bad. And just as pointless, as no-one improves, no-one learns anything, and no-one can risk trying anything even vaguely interesting. I really miss the days of ragequitting. At least there was a game in there somewhere then... *Everything else net-based still runs exactly the same as it used to, and it's the same on three wi-fi connections, if you were wondering.
I'm sure there are many great Bison player around, but just to give my humble opinion (after using him 693 times): I do find a very good turtling Ryu a tough fight. Why? If he doesn't anyhow throw fireballs, he actually have very good counters against Bison. His SRK is the basic counter and anti-air, and his sweeping kicks and jump kicks have decent range as well. But due to the huge variety of Bison's attack, unless you're very sure you are out of his range, there's always a risk factor. For example, at far range, Bison's EX headstomp actually flies BEHIND your opponent, so many times SRK may miss if it comes out slightly slower. To use Abel effectively, you must know that as Bison, I will spam you a lot with jumps in coz Abel's anti-air is NOT the best and it's a good bet if u miss, u will end up getting at least 2 kicks, or if blocked, crouch kick into scissors kick. Mixing it up with throws and psycho crasher if you jump, and not needing too many attacks to end the round, it'll be quite a tough fight for you. If anyone can teach me how to extract replays for non jailbreak iPhone, I do have a few good videos of online play vs. Abel and other characters to upload. See what they all did wrongly.
get someone use Guile (225 win or more--->i dont remember and 25 lose) he defeat me (makoto with perfect) and go to rematch, he use Dhalsim and me (absolutely my C.Viper) and i win but suddenly he quit before BP calculation.....pussy but nvm its just a game...
For really good Bison players, the game involves more variety as there's many ways for him to keep in comfortable range by dashing and teleporting. I seldom headstomp as your opponent can see it coming a mile away, unless he's your typical Akuma playing as if fireballs are his 2nd nature. Basically it's a mix of anti-air if you jump, if not, I will jump and if your counter miss, that's about it. Once down, the variety of attacks at Bison disposal can easily make you lose focus and die really quickly. P.S> dun even use Ryu's ultra at ANY range by itself against Bison, becoz unless I'm doing other moves and the frame is already in animation, I can just teleport behind you and your ultra will miss. Repeat: don't do it. Same with Akumas ultra or SC as well.
The most trouble is a turtling Honda. All my moves are locked down and my BnB of doing cross ups is trumped because they are charging the whole time and ready to headbutt. Overall, it's the lamest gameplay that people do when using charge characters and keep charging nonstop by backing away from me. When they do that and I have a life lead, I just stand there and let the time run out; not sure why they are running away when they are down... The only characters that poking works against me is Chun-Li and Makoto. Other than those two, it's not much I have to worry about. Rushdown works ONLY if you have a nice bag of tricks with you. Most people I face tend to fall into a monotonous rhythm and once there's a counter figured out for it, they fall back into a strategy that they are not really used to anymore and end up playing very mediocre. There was an Able that I play against every once in a while. It used to be 9:1 for me. Now, he learned that character well and ended up learning my tendencies; it's a 5:5 matchup now. I'm not sure when the standing roundhouse kick comes out when you play against a Bison, but you should never be in that sweet spot where they can kick you but you can't reach them. Only get in that range to bait it out, roll and command grab them. You can even Focus against it if you want. There's not much you can do AFTER the scissor kicks. It's the safest move for him I believe. Most people try sweeping me afterwards, but easily end up eating a headstomp. Only way to counter it is jumping straight up and punishing them with a combo. Ables that I have the most trouble is after they get a hard knockdown on me. They are ready for a bag of different wakeup mixups. It's really hard when I'm cornered too if they zone it out right. You can practice against me if you want...
For me this game is almost perfect. I get 7/10 games without any lag, 2/10 games with playable lag and just one game with impossible lag, this game I leave(that's why I only play friendly matches). I have the status message "Lag = Quit" and I've noticed a lot of people are using this message too. I don't know, but whenever I play ranked matches I get stomped by lag, matches with 1s delay and everything you mentioned. I quitted playing on ranked and unfortunately I didn't get the 1500's achievement (A lot of ragequitters and lag). I could get this achievement based on my skill, but with all of that, it's impossible. I've downloaded KOF, but I don't see any fun playing alone. Maybe when they add this amazing feature to the game I play again.
Was just watching my replays of Bison and Abel, you may like to know that: 1) do not roll towards me unless you're very sure you can grab, 2) Abel's ultra cannot hit Bison in mid air with an EX psycho C, 3) Abel jump kick looks long, but kinda weak and floaty like Chun Li 4) practice blocking high and low and cross overs.
@ Mkkel1977 and fffffan777777 thanks heaps guys, ive read all your posts, its just too fiddly to quote them all as im using my touch. Ill keep those tips in mind. I think i just go in too recklessly and i alwyas try and do something after blocked scissor kicks, which doesnt work out too well. Il have a few games with you for sure, my gc is Snooper'. Ill be available 9 hours after this post so just invite me or vice versa. Im thinking of just videoing my replays with my webcam or something and uploading them like that. Hopefully capcom put in some sort of share replay feature soon Thanks for all the help guys i really appreciate it. And @ the person who asked me how to get certain titles, i just used the random generator. But right now im using abels combo (blue) icon and 'Perfectionist'
I hope they have a feature like that on a future release. I've recorded like 15 replays, deleted from the game but most of the slots have filled up again. It's interesting watching some of my earlier matches using Bison compared to how I use him now. It sucks how we can't save replays that people quit from. Some of them have to be one of the best moments not recorded.
I HATE when you get a good win and they ragequit. I just rolled up and tornado throwed when i started with abel lol.
I had an enjoyable SPD + U-SPD against an akuma earlier this afternoon. That's it, that's all the hits I landed. fireballin/teleportin' runt.
Don't counter his scissors kick after blocking, it's tough unless he's real close. Safe bets for counters are: Psycho Crasher, His SC/Ultra, sliding kick... See if you're around during my lunch break here, have a game or two? 1pm China/Singapore time. Added you in GC already
LOL I counted, in one of my replays, Akuma died in 6 combos from Bison. Nothing fanciful. Just Jump Kicks + Standing Kick, etc. I love fighting Akumas when using Bison
Im 2 hours ahead of you here in Australia, just looked it up. I wont be able to have a game until like 2.15-2.45 and then maybe 7.30-8.30 your time.
Cool! Just change your GC Status (Online/Offline or something like that) and will look out for you! *Bison starts drooling* (Adds Bison's Laughter here )
Hi NullRoar, Thanks for the few games! I think the server DC us... Your Gief is good, as always, Bison vs. Gief is tough... Our Giefs are so funny, each trying to grab the other... LOL! I always love Gief vs. Gief match-ups, when you see both doing the same grabbing animation at the same time, that never fails to bring a smile to my face
