I played NYC's Fei a long time a go and he was ok. I even have replays against my bison. I never played his Ryu or Yun so you could be right. Before the tourney, I used to quit on the VS screen as well. Sometimes, I would just stand there and do nothing to piss him off This was when we were having the Mightest Ryu thingy. Last night however, we went at it and he left after 4 matches. You shouldn't feel bad because he fears your Sim that match he quits at the VS screen Yeah, Nyak's play style is unique from other Ryus. He is very patient and calculating. He is very skillful and top Ryu I have ever played. Nyak is only good with Ryu and that's it. We can't even compare him with TenOnez, he is on a different level.
Just like wediafom said to sustain my post, nyak only plays ryu and TenOnez uses rog 86 percent of the time this may affect the difference in record
Lets not forget that Ryu may be the second best character after Sagat in Volt. Rog is nowhere near the top 5 and yet TenOneZ is probably one of the most feared players in Volt. This is the reason I believe he is the best player I have ever seen!
Was just in the bathroom so decided to play a game or two of VOLT. On friendly in US server played some dude named BULAL(I think..) Anyway- he picks Ryu against my Bison, I beat him, we rematch and he picks bison against my honda... the entire set he was teleporting around and trying to play run away game, but I read him pretty well, he teleported and used the crouching heavy, I had no life left, but FA command grab for the win.... RQ. I think its funny when people RQ in friendly match. Especially after picking bison and trying to troll me hahahha
Wow, is that really possible? Now, I hate Blanka's Ultra as much as anyone on here possibly could, but even *I* think that being able to throw him out of it is just pants-on-head, Crisco-masturbating insanity. Beating it with a special move is one thing, but with a throw? Wow...just wow. BTW! Good games last night Insanity! That was a lot of fun! I have to say, I'm doing really well on the Japanese server. I'm up around 1700 BP (and don't you guys laugh, I suck ass at Ranked. Getting there on the US server is a feat for me somehow) and it was fairly easy. I've been playing 2000+ bp players on the regular and beating them. Guess they just appreciate a rushdown Guile more over there than here.
Tiers are really the most in play when two players of equal skill meet. If you have a highly skilled player playing a lower tier character against a less skilled player playing Sagat, the higher skilled player is going to win unless said top tier character has some bullshit that can't be countered. That said, I'd love to see a match between Nyak and NYC. Maybe we should see if we can broker a dream match between these two. What other "dream matches" would you guys like to see?
You can air grab sagats ultra, blankas ultra, bisons ultra, i think hondas super too. Spacing and timing is hard to master I have a video here in my phone grabbin the first three i mentioned, blankas is the easiest one, sagat you have to be far (not useful as no sagat does ultra from far), bisons ultra is messed up timing and space is really hard to get. Have to jump back grab in air same goes for hondas super.
NYC mentioned way back he has the upper hand in their matches NYC is more balanced. Nyak is more defensive. I agree that they are the two best though. We should broker the best of the best mirrors. YYOJJO vs. Nero/Vaceotyn or HEIF vs. FFFan or SLRC vs. PV Those would be fun to watch.
Mirror matches are not dream matches its just a match of who reads better. Example YYOJJO vs n3ro209 I estimate a 50/50 result both player are just as good But a match like psxquall bison versus squall2002 sagat now that is a FKING dream match
TenOnez has always been one of the best players in Volt. I've had the game since day one and have been in this thread almost since that time and I think most would agree that he's always been seens a top tier. I understand that records can be deceptive, but I guess I just don't believe that anyone could have a 94% win rate in this game and nothing about Nyak's play changed that opinion. I strongly believe that NYC's Ryu is better but still couldn't manage a 94% win rate. Statistically, that number is just mind boggling. Add to that the fact that his sig says he quits for lag, and I become very suspcicious. I never want to play someone who has that in their sig (although I still do), because if they'll quit for lag, they'll often quit for other of their own subjective reasons.
Yeah its great, you should try it.. stand about three or four steps away and meet him at the top of his spinning ball..stopped dead. IVWShane mentioned about his ultra properties, i wonder where i can find a vid or pictures that light up where the damage occurs. Plus, remember i posted that Guile compilation clip sometime back, and there was a section on uses for air throws..
Now I only halfway agree with u on this one. Yes, Sagat and Ryu "may" be the most well rounded chars, but they also have weaknesses. When a char is not seen as popular, there are two things about it: hard to play or not interested to play. When I play with S-tier players, TenOnez, Nash, etc... They give me a hard time even if I do the turtle. And the key factors are spacing and style, u gotta to know your opponents moves and his behavior. Havi said that they probably had previously playedy char in the past and quite frankly well. Char priority does matter, but what more important is the mind game. Style and aggression also big factors; for example, let's take me and berserk playing Sagat, two totally diff styles, his is more defensive-counter attack, while I like to be the bully. Sometimes the bully wins, sometimes the other way around. In my case, berserk wins, because he is more discipline with his spacing and has better fbs game than I do. I have the weakness of not being patience and contented most of the time, getting much chip outs and traps. But I never like to turtle period, not even with guile. Every single char is built with basic set of moves including basic stuffs (anti air, upper) and modified moves for each chars (air throw, speed, grab, etc...) When I lose to a spammer, I blame myself for not being more patience and self-observance, not the other char for being a bitch with fbs. To sum up, every char has a chance to win as long as u genuinely, completely know their moves.
I would certainly hesitate to use the word fear, but yeah, the only thing I could think of was that he doesn't like the Honda/Sim matchup. That sucks because it can be fun. I have really good matches against Eskapade, for example. So just so I'm clear, do you think Nyak's better than TenOnez? I wish I had saved my replays from this morning to better describe it. And hell, I have plenty of off days, so maybe today was just an off day for him. Even then, I still couldn't pull out a win.
True, but do you think that a 94% win rate is possible in Volt? I think that what it comes down to in the end is that I don't. My opinion on Rog has changed a lot over time. I think his strengths are extremely underappreciated.
You bring up good points but I'm talking about overall record. Some characters have less bad matchups and should have better records. I expect the highest win rate from Sagat, Ryu, and Bison as they are probably the best (maybe Viper and Guile is next). You should check out our earlier threads where we tier the characters based on matchups. Sagat wins for sure.
If out of 17 games you loose only one its possible its not a big number Constantly keeping this rate is the hard part
Well Jibba, we can't really compare this two. If TenOnez had played Ryu or Nyak played Rog or Yun, then I would have told you who is better. Ok, I think I now understand your question. TenOnez is the better player because he is a well rounded player. This is from my experience. I faced his Rog, Fei and Yun and he was impressive with all of them. Nyak on the other hand, I only faced his Ryu and he is in my top two Ryus so far.
