Just won twice against a guy with 3k BP, he used Balrog and was 37/0 before me. I am just starting playing as Zangief, god this character couldn't be more fun.
most of my matches against akumas have been insanely short. they make one mistake and half their energy is gone.
Use Bison. It's fun... Becoz: You do more damage than him (normal moves） Your teleport is faster than his teleport Your headstomp is the perfect counter to his fireballs The only thing is to watch out for his SC or ultra and bait him into using it. Never jump towards him when he has it. If people is baiting you by jumping backwards (typical anti headstomp strategy), jumps towards them You're relatively fast so mix up your jump attacks with crouch kicks, slams, or ex-headstomp. Your pyscho crasher can serves as a good anti-air move if you move slightly backwards and time it right. Train your bison till you can beat Ryu in training room on grueling. Then most Akumas online won't be a big problem. I have some replays of good Bison matches, if only I can figure out how to export them...
second generation Does anyone feel that the game is EXTREMELY slow on the 2nd gen touch? I can't even play an offline game without it lagging heavily even with airplane mode turned off. There also seems to be a distortion in the background.
yep, but few hits and it is gg. first time played vs Blanka and that was boring, always rolling and rolling, could not do anything vs with Sagat. yep, he is great vs most Akumas and fun.
Strategy for Zangief Zangief has a lot of good pokes. He has the highest stamina of all characters which mean he can trade blows quite liberally. His focus attack and his crouching kick has long range and is useful for getting in. One thing i usually do is crouching jabs then standing kick then Banishing flat to finish off. This closes the gap in. Though the opponent can punish you, chances are, you'll be dealing more damage than them. What's more is that his pokes are generally under-used. Considering that they go far and are quite hard to punish. His block strings can also be used to go into throws.
I updated my iOS to 4.2 just to get this. I'll wait till i goes on sale again. I guess I should've bought it on release @_@
Found him thru some random Friendly Matches. TWICE. I won both matches. He was playing as Dictator and Cody.
If anyone's still interested in uploading your Replays onto YouTube... I wrote an article on how I used Display Recorder on my jailbroken iPad to record my replays. As for the audio, I simply channeled them thru an Aux-In cable into my MacBook Pro's audio in port and have it recorded with QuickTime Player. Then you didn't feel the frustration that I felt because all 4 of my games, he was using his Zangief.
