Where are you from? I'm from United States. I remember the connection was a little choppy in the first 20 seconds, then it got better.
Here's the match that we had yesterday, shuffle around for 10 secs towards the end: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
So PSXSQUALL was you -- sorry I had to decline the match last night from you, I was already in the middle of another BT matchup with xDark. Dictator's standing kick has so much range. painfully so. Lovely chessmatch of a fight.
Im going to put up a small review of this game, and note that its my opinions. Prepare your pants. Price: First day, 10/10. 99 cents. Nowadays: 9/10. Pretty much OK, cheap with lesser characters than the full game but with free updates. Graphic: 7/10. Pretty much OK. I like the sprites, but the backgrounds are yuck. They sure screenshoted and pasted it in, but couldnt it be done better? Sound: 8/10. I like it, but man C Vipers scream scares the crap out of me all the time. Replay: 10/10. I have been fighting for months and it never gets boring for me. (Im counting the old Street Fighter 4!) Online: 6/10. I love to play online but sometimes the lag just pisses me off. I know that Capcom tries to fix it but still.. Characters and stages: Theres a bunch of stages, but the backgrounds are so messed up. Youll forget it anyway. Characters are pretty many. 20 to be more exact with two more coming soon. My friends repeats: "Why no freaking Rose?" but i dont care about it, atleast we dont have Dan. V'.'V Overall i would give this game the score 9/10. Pros: Not really draining the power, as a gameboy game but in the device itself. Pretty many characters, pretty good music. Good set moves, SP button helps alot, replayfriendly and it got online mode. Cons: The depressing backgrounds, the laggy online games and M Bison being the most easy oppenent in most difficulties in Arcade Mode. Why not make him ex-Bison like Akuma? (Or maybe its just me who pwns hehehehehehe.) Gunturtles 2 : The KI-fireballs incoming would make me
Yeah, but probably worth it for the reduction in ragequitting... So it's true - Zangief does have moves other than green-hand and throws! I'd heard rumours but I'd never actually seen them... Seriously, though, nicely done the pair of yous...
Do you guys use sp assist I mean not just for spamming fireballs, because I feel it's nearly cheating it makes some moves so easy
Ive tried not using sp assist, and i just cant consistently pull moves off on the touchscreen. And no, its not cheating, because everybody does it
So does practice. Is that cheating? Yes, I use the SP button when I play. Given the inadequacy of the touch-screen controls, good though they are, why wouldn't I - particularly online, when lag can be a major factor? The SP button was put there quite deliberately by the developers. It's as much a part of the game as the kick button. And it allows beginners to be able to play the game much more easily, which is a very good thing. Because performing special moves is not playing Street Fighter. It's merely one of the barriers a player has to overcome before they can start to play Street Fighter. And, to copy and paste from a reply I made on another thread: "I've always maintained that once two players can do the moves at will, as good players can, there might as well just be an SP button. It doesn't hurt experts (there wasn't a single match in the Evo finals where the result would have been different if SP buttons were used, for example), and it helps beginners get into the game..." If it's important to you, for whatever reason, that you do the moves manually, then great. More power to you. You're more patient and skilled with the touch-screen controls than I am. But don't expect that everyone else should, too. It's like claiming nobody should use throws (or 'kick too much')... (I'm actually boring myself the amount of times I say this, or something similar. I think I'll either retire from defending those who use SP assist, or just write a statement I can copy and paste... )
If the lag didn't drop inputs, I wouldn't mind not using the SP assist. Even with it on, it's iffy pulling off EX moves during choppy matches. Got it.
I myself never use the Ultra/Super buttons, but of course, the few times I play online mp, I usually get owned. I'm not a beginner, but I'm not an expert either (I can complete normal campaign easily and have completed hard, though it's a bit of a challenge). I just prefer doing the moves manually because it feels more satisfying when I pull them off. However, I think the comment about comparing practice to using the U/S buttons is way off. You can't say those two are the same. Granted, you can't say that using the U/S buttons is cheating since Capcom put them in there, but you also can't say that using the U/S buttons means your're just as skilled as someone who practices and gets it down manually every time. Now if a player can get the move off 100% manually but chooses the U/S buttons just for simplicity or being tired or something, that's different. But if you use those buttons because you can't do the moves manually, I would say you're not as skilled at the game and are relying on a crutch to compete with someone who is more skilled from practice.
