iirc, hurricane kick will actually take you OVER the fireballs and smack them. Use wisely.

but they can just dp that...if you dont hit them while theyre still in recovery from the fireball.

Ken isnt that great in this game :( crossups dont even matter because of auto block and im 90% sure he cant cara throw. those were both HUGE parts of his game. its a shame cos he was really good in ssf4. he was a rushdown character with fireballs and a cara throw and a dp. its a shame they dont have any decent rushdown characters in volt apart from abel. theres cammy, but her throw and overhead game is horrible so people can pretty much block everything low. also akuma, but hes weak and by far the most common character online, so people knoe how to play against him pretty well. I guess ill have to stick with abel until they update it with fei long, and hopefully rufus in future.

    S'why you gotta anticipate.

Guile has a fast recovery, and I believe Sagat high-shot does as well, but other than that, you should be able to punish a fireball with a well-timed hurricane. Other options include simply jumping in for a punish. My fav method of punishing fireballs is blanka's slide punch. Best move in the game.

That's why I mentioned sonicboom and high tiger specifically. The others should be fine.

On a more awesome note: If you want a 100% easy way to out-last the end-of-screen-spam game, simply pick dhalsim.

His yoga flame has a solid duration and fast enough startup and dissipates projectiles. Simply sit far away and flame any incoming projectiles - force them to come at you (then teleport away). They will eventually make some mistakes. Punish them.

Ive tried dhalsim, but I prefer to rush down and put the pressure on. Thanks for the suggestion though

Buffer the motion for EX criminal upper while the medium punch is going. It isnt too hard, just takes a few tries.

Just tried it again, and you have to be very fast - basically treat the crouching punch and the EX criminal upper as one joystick movement, with the punch and SP buttons used at the appropriate times.

    This should help: http://www.youtube.com/user/ShinryuReishiki#p/u/11/-XZ92f_Z3ew

You can absolutely rushdown and pressure with dhalsim, esp with his teleport-jumpkick-lowkick-flame. He has a few less options fOr mixing things up but he can def pressure

Randomly found Nullroar by just playing friendly. It was the only decent match I had yesterday.

If I quit a ranked match in the first few seconds of the first round, do I still get a loss and BP decrease?

Sometimes, I get put into a terribly laggy match that I'd rather not play, but I don't want to get a loss for leaving all the way at the beginning when I realize the game will be too laggy to play.

Yes, you still get your card marked with the loss - and you now get a bigger BP penalty than you would for losing the match.

Also, your disconnects are recorded on your Player Card and, Capcom say, those with high disconnection rates are paired up against each other more often.

Some games can lag horribly but, since the update, it's better just to suck it up. Besides, in my experience, if the lag is really bad the server will usually drop the game anyway - for no penalty...

^ Well that sucks. Today, I played a game that took like 15 minutes to finish because it was moving at 1-2 frames per second.

You were Zangief, I was Bison. Not sure if you remember, I barely had any life left on round 2 and you had about 3/4. Some bad guesses on your side and it cost you the round.

I have the replay saved. I'll post it sometime.
