Not sure if you meant your jumping kick broke Akuma's ultra/SC. I did it a few times before with Bison, but i attribute it more to luck than timing. Any expert familiar with hitbox etc can comment on if it's possible and what are the char/moves you can use to break Akuma's ultra/SC? Will be great to learn
His super has a few invincibility frames on startup, as does his ultra, but they dont last long, so im pretty sure youbcould knock him out of it with anything. Jumping is usually safer though. Might try this out in training. But any half decent akuma will only use it when you jump in, whiff a move with huge recovery (srk) or focus crumple you. His super is a 0 frame grab, so try not to be close to him if he has it, but you can usually jump his ultra
You guys know what really sucks with online gaming? I play Vega, and whenever im so close to win (i usually outplay spammers) they start to play extremely defensive, keep away from me and just spam their skills. Like that. Clever use of game mechanics you say. Its true but if that ever happened IRL it would be considered cheating and the guy who does this will usually get beaten up, sadly. So far 1-around 50 lmao. I would stay at 51-0 if the spammers didnt coward out and started using clever game mechanics that would propably make them get Zangiefed IRL. Friend battle is a different story. They do not play the "omgdefensespam" card and its usually 50-50. And we usually pick randoms also and rather stay away from spammers. Ive heard that the cute boxer Balrog can counter spammers pretty much. Better learn to play him to punch those b*st*rds really hard. The only skilled player ive met so far is someone who outplayed me really good using a Blanka.
Looks like they removed the "beat everyone's challenge modes" achievement a bit ago. That leaves me with every last one the sec I do 15 online games without SP assist. Cool, but I feel cheated. Edit @MokutonMadara send a challenge over to Nullroar and maybe I'll double the "skilled player" total (I've also been called a horrible scrub, though).
i'm C.Viper player n sometime i met Blanka but i can defeat him but i'm not say its easy but i can....try to keep your defense up n down, sometime they will hit u with sliding punch...if he jump you can punish with Heavy Thunder Knuckle....use combo with crouching medium kick+medium thunder knuckle+ultra (if enough)....to defeat flying ball just block n punish with medium thunder knuckle...for Dhalsim i dont have any idea, because i'm lost for three times,he keep back jump+teleport+back jump+teleport etc...sucks...
Jump and hit him . You can't be grabbed out of the air so a jump attack that hits his head will beat him . Hitbox for ultra : The blue hitbox represents the grab hitbox for the ultra, if your character's green solid hitbox(representing your character) comes into contact with his blue hitbox, you land yourself in his ultra . To counter the ultra, the character that you are using must have a move that can meet his green lined boxes before his blue grab box meets your green box . For example , sagat crouching fierce: As you can see the attack hitbox for sagat's standing fierce is extended outwards by a lot, so if sagat does a standing fierce and the red solid box hits akuma's green box (on top) before akuma ultra's blue grab box meets sagat's green solid hitbox, akuma is hit out of ultra ! As for whether a move will hit akuma out of ultra , I guess its up to you to find out the hitbox data for your character's moves .
Youre saying that you are 1-50 and thats because everyone else is a scrub. Cmon man. Ofcourse people are gonna go on the defense if theyre low on life. Of all the tactics how is being defensive scrubbish. IRL they would get beaten up cos its considered cheating? If you mean playing sf4 in real life then thats just ridiculous. If you mean in a real fight, remember that this isnt the most realistic game ever. Almost everyone goes on the defense if they are about to die. Calling them scrubs is stupid. Just because you cant beat anyone who plays defensive doesnt mean theyre cheating, its your fault for not knowing your character well enough. And yea, balrog does pretty good against fireball spammers, but abel and bison do even better if youre going for an anti-fireball strat. Edit: Just re-read your post, Ive never heard the term defense spam before, congrats on inventing that.
A must watch video for every zangief player out there, it gives a series of punishes that gief can do . Watch till the end especially for the ultra's you can punish with ex-spd :O Ex-spd akuma, chunli, abel, feilong, viper ultras :O:O:O
I agree, people playing Vega sucks... When someone is about to lose they become more defensive?* Really? Who'd have thought that? Can't imagine why... Common sense, I'd say, but whatever... If someone played a videogame in a way you didn't like you'd beat them up? I don't care how sad you'd be, that's borderline mentally ill. Unless, of course, you're applying Street Fighter rules to real-life, actual, fights. In which case the border to mental illness is somewhere in the rear-view mirror. And it's not 'cheating'. It is, in fact, 'playing Street Fighter'. Ouch. That's not very good, is it? Even I've managed more wins than losses... So you'd easily win if people didn't actually play against you? Probably. Shame it doesn't work like that, isn't it? Assuming you don't mean playing defensively would turn them into a giant hairy wrestler (which is unlikely, even given the staggeringly bizarre nature of the rest of your post) are you again threatening physical violence over a game? If so, being really bad at this game is the least of your problems. Seriously, put down the joypad and go for a nice walk in the country... Ah, here we go, the traditional cry of Shoryuken Whifficus, the lesser-spotted scrub. You can play with any of the rules you like. If something makes the game more enjoyable for you and your friends, great. Go for it. Knock each other out. But you can't expect other people to join in - you're not playing Street Fighter. You're playing your own 'house rules' version of the game. Which, as I say, is fine - as long as everyone knows and has agreed to it. People online haven't. It's not that they're being 'defensive spammers', it's that they're playing a different game to you. And the point of that game is to win. Seriously, read this: http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win-part-1.html But if he's the 'only' skilled player you've met, why did you lose to everyone else? I'm not being funny, BTW, it's a serious question. I suck at this game but, if I have one saving grace, it's that I know whenever I lose it was my fault.** There was only ever an achievement for completing one character's challenge, wasn't there? The first game had achievements for getting all S-ranks with characters... Oh, good - 'cause Zangief players need all the tips they can get to make them harder to beat... *Ryu-era Daigo excepted, of course. **Lag permitting, obviously...
Usually Ryu - I switched from Ken when Volt came out (and it became clear that Street Fighter Alpha 2-style attacking was just getting me badly beaten! )...
And what problems were you having with gief? Sorry i know i saw it in a post yesterday but i'm far to lazy to look for it again.
Avoiding being thrown, basically! I suck at keeping him away, and I'm even worse up-close with him. It seems whatever I try is either blocked (which leads to being thrown) or I'm just grabbed out of it (and thrown). Also the sheer number of hits needed to KO him compared to the 3-4 hits he needs to land. And, of course, hitting him gives him his ultra... There's also the mental aspect - I know I fight 'scared' against him, which doesn't help a bit, and when I see Zangief on the intro screen I almost accept a loss. That'll change after a few wins, I know, it's just getting those wins... Currently practicing fighting him on Free Sparring, on 3 & 4 stars. Getting my arse handed to me on a regular basis!
First don't let him get to you mentally. That right there means you won't think what is the smart thing to do. The trick to zoning vs spamming your fireballs against him is to get a rhythm going and then changing it up. Once he starts jumping at some point he will get to the part where he can't react with a jump fast enough, don't throw the fireball and meet him in the air or DP him, if he focus's the fireball sweep him. Also when he starts jumping over fireballs preemptively wait until he's in the air to throw a fireball and he'll land on it. The second thing you need to learn against him is that no matter what he can't catch you jumping back (No ultra 2 thank god.) So when you get up close instead of Tatsu's and DP's do a frame trap and jump back. When you knock him down and he has ultra expect the wake up ultra and bait it out by getting close and jumping back. He green hands to come in as soon as you know you blocked it(or it whiffed but he's close) jump back, because of course he's going to throw you. Also if he empty jumps at you he's going for a command grab, meet him in the air or DP him.
@Mikkel1997 you cleaned me up Honda was probably my best character then as ive been using him lately as well as as pretty much every other char (thats why my bp was so low ). Usually its abel but i havent played as him for a few days. Your bison is crazy good, rematch tomorrow maybe?
Your Honda tricked me the first few games, there's a lot of room for improvement! I played against a Honda the other day and got crushed becoz he was very accurate with his sumo slam and down SP splash thingy. Mix up this 2 against me and my Bison was a goner. I literally stayed on the ground, got up, got slammed, repeat... The whole round most heard sentence was "sumo slam"... Sry it's coming 10pm so gotta call it a nite. Have a great game!
Best advice! It looks simple but works very well against Gief. Trust me, when I play Gief and someone do this to me, I know it's almost pointless to carry on. Gief has a better chance against a fireball spamming Akuma than a kicking Sagat
everyone says that in a laggy match, the one with fireballs will win but in laggy matches, I find it extremely difficult to get fireballs out, both with ryu and deejay. advice?
