I barely know how Cody can change with the assistant turned on. To be honest I suck with him lol. With Gief, assistant is not necessary under normal conditions. You just need certain skills (like with any other character). Viper is a different situation. Since she hasn't got good normals, she depends almost totally on her special moves (which are pretty hard to pull off).
Next time I play you, it will be sp assist off because you feel that way. I will also play sp assist off with Harlequin and any other player that wants me to turn it off. . It's not an issue
True, it is a choice but it's not something you can turn on or off before or after a match and then have a rematch, its also not known before hand whether or not the other player has it on or off. And because of that I believe it is unfair. Its not like the super meter and the ultra meter where both players have access to it no matter what the game settings are.

I see your point and it is a valid one. Most of the people I play with actually want me to use SP assist. They are training for ranked and to get better so they want the full Cammy experience . Everyone probably uses SP for Cammy and since i am their training partner, they don't want me to hold back . I think Berserk, Wediafom and Hieu appreciate my sparring with them
And that is exactly why sp assist can be good and at the same time unfair. It allows lesser players the ability to play against better players and actually stand a chance. At the same time though, I don't think anyone could say that they would be equals if one player uses sp assist and the other doesn't and they go 5-5. The same could/would one said if two players went 5-5 but one player could pull off supers, ex, and ultras manually and the other had to use the shortcut buttons. Think of it this way, if two people play a shooting game and one has auto aim on and the other doesn't, is the same skill required to play either way? No.
And to be honest I'd rather you use whatever makes you a tougher opponent when I play you but that's besides the point. My main issue is when you compare two players ability and that's not factored in or taken into consideration.
I'm not completely against sp assist. I've never said it was cheating only that, using it certainly feels like it. For the record, I wont insist someone use it against me (Apprunner!). It's your own choice. But even, put it this way, the arcade community is still split on allowing macros in tournaments. And this is in versus series where the combos are a lot harder then db p, df p, uppercut

As I said you have a legitimate argument. I also see the other side that says a v pad is a really bad input device for non charge characters. This game is not real street fighter so does it really matter if people use SP assist As I said I respect both sides and will give my friends an opportunity to pick sp off or on. Just let me know in advance. . I think most don't really care as most use SP anyway
Yeah, of course the assistants gives you an advantage. You can't measure skills properly if you play with SP assistant on (Viper might be the only exception). But well, that's because of the limitations of the iDevices/app. If you want to be the best, you have to overcome situations like lag, bad matchups and SP assistant. As you said, it might be not fair, but you still have the chance to turn it on and use it when you need it. Play with SP assistant requires some skills too, it's not just mashing like crazy.
You, Xion, Shane and all the other non sp users should be proud. Very hard to pull off in SF. To be clear, I'm not arguing anything in this discussion. Truth of the matter is that I will never beat any of your with SP assist off. Shane has it in his Sig so it is an important deal to him. Frankly why even play with people that have it on. You know you will probabaly defeat everyone with it off and if you lose, it will be because they cheated. .
Actually he deserves a lot of respect. It's hard to play online with the SP assistant turned off, but he already plays on an iPad, which makes the game harder (IMO).
The only thing I dislike about the topic is I don't know any player who mains non-charge characters against SP assistant. usually they are pro SP or just don't give a ****.
What you said is contradictory Yeah Apprunner, I don't mind at all I don't mean to sound dickish but no one is forcing you to play with SP off! It's not like you will get a medal or something. No one really cares seriously.
