this multiplayer sucks, why they could not do ping check, some games are like tbs, and with fb characters of course a lot of fun.
Balrog is great against fireball spammers. His headbutt goes through it, turn around punch evades it, EX charge punches can absorb one fireball/hit. I think he's a great pick against them. Now if you think about facing against other charge characters, then that's where you have your problems since his special moves have a longer startup than most.
Lol you let my Bison attack too much, that's why you find it a challenge. Need to keep me on the ground and blocking more.... Sagatties? Didn't meet much the whole day yesterday, more Akumas than anything else. Oh well, they were quite easy bait for Bison.
Balrog is exactly the opposite of what you said. He's a great character against fireball spammers. His Head Buffalo, Ultra and Turning Punch can pass through fireballs (I've managed to pass through a metsu hadouken with it) and all his EX punches can absorb a simple fireball (only single hit ones). But I think Balrog has a hard time against experienced Zangief and Abel. Every time I face one of them, I never play a second match, wether I win or lose. What I don't know what to do is how to punish Sagat's Tiger Knee and Honda's Head Butt. Any tips guys?
I don't use Balrog much, but Honda's Head Butt is definitely punishable with a quick long range attack (with Bison, just step forward a tiny bit and quickly do a standing kick). Balrog's EX Head Buffalo works wonders after I tested him out against Honda in Training mode. The only problem will be dealing with the lag online. The move might not come out on time where you'll end up having to block the Head Butt as opposed to having the opportunity to punish them for using that move. As for Sagat's Tiger Knee, it's pretty tough to punish that with any character. It's only really punishable if they are next to you and use the Tiger Knee where you are able to block both hits early and have some freedom to do whatever you want.
Its completely possible. Especially if you keep doing the same combo because theyll know the fireball is coming
It's highly advantageous to play offensive. With someone like Ryu, you can attack high (overhead attack), attack low (low kick -> fireball), toss, or block. Your opponent has to choose between four different ways to react -- block high, block low, toss, or counter-on-wake-up (i.e. SRK). The worst thing that happens to you, the attacker, is an SRK in the face, which is around 130 dmg. If they guess wrong and you're blocking, they're eating a big combo, at least 220 dmg or so. If they don't SRK and choose one of the other three options, they're probably taking ~150+ dmg.
Unless I hit a light punch in the EXACT time, I'm gonna get hit (sometimes Honda too). Also his Head Butt is armor breaker, so I can't use any EX nor focus attack to counter it. The only ways I could find to counter/punish his head butt is Super or Ultra.
If you see it coming or react very quickly you can jump backwards and he'll land right in front of you, but still be in recovery. You could throw or maybe even pull off a combo if you're quick.
Also if someone keeps spamming Honda's headbutt, you can jump backwards. His headbutt should stop just slightlly infront of you, and punishable. Or you can just fireball him... LOL...
Here is some gameplay between me and mikkel1977 PLZ rate my ryu and tell me how to improve I'm also going to upload a ryu vs. m.bison video cause i'm really having trouble with bison players
How did you record your video directly via the video stream? Video out cable + PC screen recorder? I'm about to put up my Sakura vs. Bison video in another 15 mins - it's uploading to YouTube EDIT: As for your Ryu, it seems quite predictable... you keep going to the same poke (kick) into Hadouken with little variation. Where are your jabs, light punches, throws, solar plexus(es), tatsus, SRKs and mixups between all of the above? It seems you stick to 1-2 bread and butter combos and while that may work for you, even a semi-experienced player will be able to figure out your go-to strategy and find a counter assault that works. Mix up your game, Ryu has a lot in his arsenal. EDIT 2: Sakura vs. Bison
LOL @ when you gave her the 4th round and she didnt sweep or ultra you, but kept hitting with high attacks, and then used all her meter. But with your game, mix in more throws, tech your knockdowns, and just try to vary your game a bit. Ryus a pretty good turtle. So throwing fireballs and punishing the jump ins with a dp can be effective. But then maybe half way through the round go on the offensive. I dont know many ryu combos, but he's got an overhead, so use that if your opponent keeps blocking low. Also dont just keep going for the same jump kick, low kick, fireball combo. One thing that will help you win is knowing the game and every characters moveset, weaknesses etc. inside out, and knowing how to play against them. Google 'eventhubs ryu ssf4' and there will be a combo section. Look for some different combos, get them down pat in training, and know when to use them. Also try www.option-select.com. Go to videos and watch some matches with ryu. If youre having trouble with bison, look at some ryu-bison videos (preferably with commentary and a good ryu like Alex Valle, Daigo or Air) and watch every move the ryu makes and his responses to different situations. Always jumping in isnt such a great idea as most characters have easy ways to counter. Again, learning everyones move set is crucial. You would never jump in on a good ken, but Abel doesnt have many anti air options, for example. All in all, go to eventhubs, learn some combos, (preferably ones without EX moves as they can be hard to pull off with a touchscreen) practice them and mix up your game. Good luck PS, how did you record and upload that?
Thanks but my actual game play was bad... I need more practice with combo timings and pulling off specials
Why do you always shoot her ultra up? And try and land her EX tatsu, it can combo into her 3 punch special thing and her ultra. Nice finish though
