Bison is relatively easy to counter if he's at full screen trying to spam headstomp - just walk backwards. If he tries headstomp, he'll miss and be wide open for punish. If he tries psycho crusher, it will end before he reaches you (punish). If he tries teleport, you can punish as it resolves.

When he's in closer he can be a bit trickier :D

A lot of it comes to figuring out the playstyle of the Bison - predicting if he's going to stomp or teleport.

Dear lord, though - Sagat vs. Gief is an uphill battle. : (
Sagat simply needs standing fierce kick and that's it.

-Null, on the only account he can use via VPN

I'm a ZANGIEF player...so the game is different for me probably. but what I find best is to turtle haha. (and go on the offensive when he messes up) anticipate his head stomps and block standing. the green fist gets me across the screen fast enough to catch him/bait him into using his annoying kick so I can block and punish. or you can dash or do whatever screen clearing move that'll get you there in time.

if he's a jumping bison, simply meet him in the air...or time it so you land AFTER him, but use whatever jumping punch or kick works best for your character. some characters probably have good anti-air (like a dragon punch) for the annoying bison head stomps.

if he's a teleporter...it's not too difficult to catch him because his teleport is really slow. and he pretty much ALWAYS teleports behind you, and never further away in the direction you are moving. so it's easy to predict where he will be.

I had played as Bison for like 100 times. Actually all his moves can be countered. Those who spam headstomp, all you need to do is jump straight up and kick, or jump backwards and kick. Teleports Can be hit as well if u know he's gonna do it.

When I play as him, I never spam any particular moves. I just attack using all three style and mix in some jump attacks, crouch attacks and slam. Then it becomes unpredictable.

You should never use your ultra unless you are sure it will hit. For example with abel, if youre 2/3 a screen or less away and they throw a fireball, also you can crouching heavy punch into it.

Any good player will block your ultra if you just throw it out randomly.

Welcome to Grueling mode! Wait till you reach Our dear Mr. M. Bison... :D

By the way, try not to just use your ultra by itself as an anti-air. Most do not have fantastic priority except Akuma's perhaps.

I find ultra more useful on combos against CPU.

I use the ultra when the AI is landing
not sure how they can recover and block so fast!

I execute it immediately after they're after the apex of the jump
I don't think any human player can block that!

There's typically a 2-3 frame lag when you execute an Ultra.

If someone is landing from a whiffed SRK, you'll need to execute your ultra a little bit before they land, to account for that lag. Super Combos tend not to have that lag.

There's also less recover if a player jumps and lands without kicking. You can often bait an ultra, and block, if you just jump without kicking.

And as mentioned, few ultras work well as anti-airs. Sagat, Akuma, Ryu (if you dashback first), Guile.

Well yea they could if they empty jumped (jumped without attacking) and buffered the block for when they land. But it depends... who are you using?

Lol that's why they are call "CPU"... Try playing grueling difficulty against Bison I Training Mode. Don't talk about blocking, see how fast he can execute his charge-less moves against you... Basically you cannot attack him whatever he does (except for his crouch slide)....

Darkshadow, thanks for the great game! Btw my fav scene was how my deejay does 3-4 ultras and SC and your RYU jumped over it, or do an ex-spinning kick way high up in the air (near top of screen) and avoided it. It was so funny! :D

You have to mix in low high and throw attacks. But yea the annoying thing about grueling is they know what you're going to do because it sees your inputs and can react accordingly.

The next update will propably Gouken/Evil Ryu and Fei-Long.

Reserved, whats that? Hopefully Dudley or Hakan.

Trying to figure out if you can really take your replays to the PC. Wanting to show some Vega pwnage :p

Im starting to dislike the online feature though. Only Sagatspammers there. Id rather play with other players in the same room. Anyone taking a Sagatspammer will taste IRL Haudoken =o

Ya, it's not humanely possible to block a jumping kick, crouch kick, and (before the fireball comes out), counters u with an ultra...

Btw anyone knows what Bison says when he execute his ultra? Can't make out the first few words.

Addition: weekend gaming online was ok, encountered a few RQ, but in general lesser. Killed many many Akumas who thinks air fireball + ground fireball works against Bison... :D

  17. holy crap dude i when i saw you doing you're ultra i'm just like oh no lol the i hurricane kicked over it. those were really fun matches dude i aleays enjoy battling you and as usual you had me stumped at your bison. looking forward to play u again sometime bro.

Wouldnt Retina make the batteries run faster?

Cause i love the way SFIVvolt is now, i can sit anywhere outside for the whole day without worrying about batteries.

Crap, tried out online game and im around 1-15.

I dont know if i suck, i play Vega but man do i find it annoying when almost everyone have to pick the most easiest SP using characters such as Akuma, Ryu, Sakura, Sagat and Ken. The most hated gotta be Ryu. Second is Akuma with the overpowered ultra.

And sadly im the victim of some ragequiters otherwise i would have higher wins. But unlike the patch before, i never meet them more than once lol.

And they seem to have crap Internet too cause its lagging way too much.
