I've been playing around with him a bit lately and have seen this from two different Blankas in friendlies. Is sweep my only real option? I don't think he has a ton of range on it but haven't tested it yet in training.
Doesn't Fei's flame kick work? Depending on the character, there are a lot of options. FA is always an option because Vega is very vulnerable once he lands. WheN I use Sim, I just air teleport around them and punish with either jump p-standing punch or jump k-crouch kick-flame. With characters like Gief and Abel I've had luck simply using thir jump punch or their upward punches (down forward p). Another alternative is to dash backwards and punish. It's worth playing with in training or friendlies. Air grabs are tough, but like Heif said, try to stay moving and make him miss. I can't remember if the down forward punches can counter them, but my gut says they can't. But I think that when those moves whiff there's a good period of vulnerability.
Hooligan grab or slide when vega back dashes, cammys ultra or super trumps his ultra, air to air, cammy can grab throw vega so timing is key..cannon strike in air, but keep low, then grab, or jump straight up to bait him to crouch, then Fp in air, Fp, cannon strike fabd, ultra
Awesome. BY THE WAY @D4GAMER, about Vega, you will probably find back dashes extremely good against him. Especially when he supers. Trying to hit mid-air Vega with J. P will occasionally work, although he'll Barcelona Attack you most often.
Yeah, public wifi FTL. You did zone pretty well. I thought I did a pretty good job even though I lost. Better than last time we played, the matches this time were a lot closer. And Dhalsim is easily Guile's worst matchup. Good games man! If your character has a good flying move, jumping back and sticking it out when he goes for his Barcelona moves will usually take them out. If he does them and you're too late to jump, lvl.2 Focus Attack works well. But don't hold the button too long and make it level 3 because Vega can react and punish you then. He's fairly weak up close, so staying up in his face is a good way to make sure he can't charge easily. ONe of the few characters where rushing him down is actually a good idea in this game.
Yea, Blanka has priority on anything that's non-low hits. You could try low kick > rekka x 3, but that has even less range than the sweep. The tip of abel's toe on his sweep is actually pretty lengthy, but has pretty slow start-up. But hey, knockdown and then you get to have hilarious wake-up shenanigans. I do wish Abel had more punish options on a blocked blanka ball.

I hate Abel's damage output for so little. I especially hate his Ultra. But when I use Yun, it's mostly 'K.
