playing vs people with japan or asian nicknames is usually laggy. interesting it's p2p connection or the game uses some servers, if it's so than these servers are probably only in japan and usa.
Just curious what you mean about a spamming Dhalsim? I actually had a rare loss as Dhalsim v. Zangief yesterday (he refused a rematch). The Zangief was ultra aggressive with the green hand to force himself in close. True. And it's not just the Kens and Ryus. I see it from a bunch of characters.
i don't see jump in and combo to hadouken and dragon punch is wrong it's simple BnB combo if not what should they do? you have to identify which is wrong and which is right not simply say everything that bring u to disadvantage is wrong p/s: after got hit by zangief's greenhand...will there be time to jump by opponent after perfect timing and execution of super and ultra? just happened to witness both super and ultra missed after opponent hit by greenhand

well against zangief anyway, they usually throw a yoga fire and then try to keep you away with their long range punches. I guess it's a good strategy against zangief....and I feel like I might've played you yesterday haha. did the player have a quote on his card about vodka? if so, that might've been me. also...I never said there was anything wrong with the jump in combos. I just stated an observation that it's becoming more frequent. HOWEVER, the players I've faced repeat the same exact combo over and over to the point of predictability and it's easy to counter them when you figure out their pattern.
I don't remember the player's name or anything. A lot of the time I daze out during that brief moment when they show your opponent's info so I miss out on the record, name and number of BPs. I can't really figure out how to browse player cards except to go one by one. I know there's a way to list them by player used but I can't figure that once I've selected the option. In any event, I wasn't really on my game at the time and the player had a good strategy and I just got beat. I can't remember if it went 2 or 3 rounds.
Dee Jay is slightly similar to Guile, i.e. you may use your fireball as a lead and follow up with close combat, such as your punches and kicks. His typical combos include crouch punch into d.back SP (sorry, forgot the move name), and others in the challenge. Only thing you have to watch out for is not to spam his P or SP button during combos because he will come out with him multi-punch thingy. Not a bad thing but range is short, sometimes may be countered if opponent blocks. Get used to adjusting your "charge" direction from back, diagonal back to down so that you can pull of all his moves without error. He have a anti-fireball move (couch sliding kick) but the range is not as long as Blanka. Can be a fun char to play with. My opinion? Can be used irritating like Guile to keep pressure on someone, and defensively has sufficient moves to counter back. Suggest you use him in training mode first and fight against Ryu etc on Hard. If you can corner them with your melees and fireballs etc then online play shouldnt be much of a problem.

LP? I thought Bison DUN NEED COMBOS? Not sure about other pros in the forum, Bison is my most often used char, although not having a fantastic record with him. But I find Bison hardly needs any combos becoz: 1) Jump Kick > Standing Kick or his normal standing kick does a lot of damage and has very good range 2) crouch kick X3-4 times into knee press is ok (max I had was like 5? Extremely close) Beyond that, the standard combos are those in the challenge. Hardly useful everyday. Then of coz if you think about the "variety" in terms of ways Bison can close up on opponents, then that's another story. He has a very wide variety of gameplay which makes most Akuma players pay... Reducing your charge time by holding it in advance, you can pull off a lot of moves after opponent blocked. To give you an idea, play against Bison (CPU) on Grueling and see what combos he used. Quite typical but effective. Although it's nearly impossible to have his "recovery" time (I think CPU cheated on that)
Thanks. I manged to win a few matches with him online but I just couldnt keep up with ryu, ken etc. in terms if fireballs and he cant dish out much damage. Thanks for the suggestions. Just wondering, does anyone have any suggestions for a 2nd char to abel. And please dont say ryu, sagat or akuma. Im trying to expand my game a bit.
There will always be people outraged at people who throw fireballs and declare what are actually tactics and zoning as "spam" or "being cheap". Some people are sore losers who look for an excuse or something to blame their loss on and some people learn that every character has a weakness and you have to learn to exploit it. This is coming from a dude that plays Zangief and Hakan on SF4, by the way
What gets me is the akumas who fireball/air fireball. Ill get in close by either rolling (i use abel) or FADCing forward. When I get close enough, he teleports away. I literally cannot reach him. Sometimes I stand at the other side of the screen if its bad enough and just nuetral jump to piss him off. He jumps in, air fireballs (still from a safe distance) and then teleports. I can never punish the teleport either because i have to be close as abel is a melee only character. That IS being a scrub.
Been maining Sakura since she got released; thinking of developing a secondary character. Between Guile, Dhalsim and Zangief, all of whom I have little or no experience playing, who should I start practicing with?
All 3 are pretty fun. Im thinking of getting a secondary as well. Guile can turtle really well and his normals are great. Solid choice. Dhalsims whole game is keeping your opponent at bay. I like the idea of playing him but Im not that good. I personally dont like gief, but alot of people on this thread seem to. Out of those three Id say Guile. But these videos may change your mind. Best sf4 games i have ever watched. http://www.option-select.com/strategy/matchup/?m=125&c=13
Try Blanka or Vega. You will be surprised how different their gameplay style are, and how effective sometimes it can get. Esp Blanka.
