I notice that some application (also game) are losing it name, description, screenshot in iTunes store for unknown reason. Wonder how long does it take for them to figure out since this will surely effect the customer feeling. Some may considered not buying the game and thing that it the developer who did something wrong. Apple should come out and speak about this problem in public before someone have to get their blame instead. Not to mention that tiny developer who rely their marketing on iTunes alone will suffer the most. Some conspiracy might happen inside the Big A. Does anybody can enlighten us about this problem?
Got more info from developer who got this problem. Seem like they just updating their application description today then this sh*t happen. So as a warning word to all developer. DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO YOUR DESCRIPTION YET! I'll try to list down the victim of this crisis and list their name here.
The symptoms of this disease is - Losing their application name. - Lose their list when search the app. using browse or power search. - Still get the ranking in all area. - Still can get to the real page by using Appstore Link. So for now please help people who cannot view the app description by putting their app link here for the victim app.
it's affected a lot of apps. I turned off AppShopper's updates to avoid corrupting AppShopper with the same info. arn
You can still view their safe and sound description here. Harbor Master Please help list the name of unlucky app. It is very hard to find their working link when not knowing their name.
Sounds like Apples data base is nicely corrupted. I'm sure they have good backups but how much new data do you think they lost?
I bet it has something to do with that Khalid Shikia or whatever. He must've gotten SO mad that Apple removed his apps from mostly all the appstores, he used his relentless power to send a virus to Apple that ruined the appstore. Although, mine is only a conspiricy. But it's all within a realm of possibility.
How did you do that? Can you do the same thing for Mummy's Revenge, its dropping in its rankings dramatically. Like 10 spots in 2 hours.
It seem remedy is not effect for all people. Someone still don't get any picture after using link. So sad Apple should do something soon.
This is really annoying, we have lost our sales momentum and are falling down the top 100 lists... It is starting to be fixed, but on the actual iphone device appstore, everything is still messed up, even a popular game like Harbor Master are still missing its name on the top 10.
Apple might be in the process of updating their database...I found that the ability to add keywords to your application (for search reasons, I suppose) has been added to iTunesConnect. I wonder if they are transitioning to a new database and some things got lost along the way. But seriously, it would a little bit surprising if a company as big as Apple can't deal with data migration issues like that. Its a shame that developers are the ones who get hurt in the process...
Not that I've read the T&C's, but is there not something within the licensing agreement to allow Apple to publish your games, that if their platform (the only form of official app release) has issues, goes down, causes/affects your sales as a direct result of an issue on Apples side, they are liable for some level of compensation?
