I would kill for a thumb stick. Tap to move is the worst. Otherwise curious to see how much depth this has. Crazy playing something like this without any freemium mechanics.
I gave up after five minutes of trying to move, but I'm planning to try it with a DS4 controller this weekend and see how it goes. I was REALLY excited for this release, too. Hoping they can figure out a virtual thumbstick or something, otherwise it's a "play at home on the couch" game instead of on the go since I don't carry around my Playstation controller with me
The movement is incredibly wonky on touch screens. I gave up and deleted it.
Works good with a PS4 controller haven’t played it any other way
Looks like the dev responded to reviews on the App Store and they're working on a virtual joystick. That'd be sweet! Meanwhile I'm gonna enjoy this one with a controller for now I suppose I could even pack my old SteelSeries Stratus (the tiny one) in my bag to play at work over lunch.
This game is much better with a controller. Played for an hour and it’s pretty good. Exploration, crafting, farming, survival. Moves slowly at first, but it’s starting to pick up.
As others noted... Controls are frustrating.
Cool game, but won't play it much unless they do indeed give us a virtual joystick.
As you all said it seems good so far and I’ll definitely check it out more but the controls aren’t the best. The movement isn’t the end of the world but I sure would like more options like a thumb stick as some of you said. I’d also like an action button rather than pressing the tiny arrow each time.
But it does seem like if they do that there’s something here but I guess only time will tell if I get further in and see how much depth it has. Even without changed controls I’ll play it more they still work, they just aren’t as smooth as they could be.
Greetings! We’re just about ready to beta test the new controls. In addition we’ve added support for 10 additional languages, zoomed the camera a bit so you can see better on smaller devices, and a few other fixes.
If you are interred in testing it and giving us some feedback on the new controls, please email us at support @ shiftyeyegames . com
Thanks guys for a great game, exploration is enjoyable and the daily grind of having enough food isn’t too tedious. I do wish the story held your hand a little less, but it’s an enjoyable story none the less.
I have gotten used to the controls, but a virtual thumbstick would be better.
Yay and update with a virtual stick and buttons, maybe now I can give the game a look again.
I’ve been enjoying this on my iPad with a MFi controller but this new update has really screwed it up.
My saved game has been deleted and the resolution is now forced to an ugly looking sub-native res with no option to change it. Seems a shame when it was running fine before.
We'd love to find out what happened to your save game and native res. Please contact us at support @ shiftyeyegames . com
Well, my saved game has made a welcome return!
The first time I ran the game after the update there was the lovely nautical background, but no menu for a while. Then the menu finally appeared, but with only an option for a new game.
Now when I run the game it’s back so that’s good. Still in low res though.
I’ll happily send you an e-mail. Not sure what more I can add though.
That means Game Center timed out trying to login. Apple Arcade game saves are tied to your Game Center login (offline and online) so if you aren't logged in (or there's a problem with Game Center) then you're going to have a different save game than when you are.
The upside of this is that if you've got family sharing enabled, everyone can have their own separate game saves on Apple Arcade as long as they login with their own Game Center ID.
If you can send us a video or screenshot of the "low res", that'd be great (along with what device you are using).
This game runs perfectly on my iPhone 8, but it lags on my iPad Pro (9.7in). It's updated to the most recent version on both devices. On the iPad, after about every 8 steps I take there's a hiccup like the game is trying to catch up or refresh.
