Im having trouble consistently triggering it. I'm on stage 31 now and am getting slaughtered cause I can't reliably trigger it. Wish there can be an option for a button for dodging..
Dedicated button is one idea. On the other hand, I really like that I can use a huge part of the screen as "dodge button". Very handy, and much easier to hit than a tiny button. @Kiloo: *IF* you consider adding a dodge button, please make it resizable and freely placeable anywhere on the screen. More work for you, I know. But the current mechanic is good, just could be a bit more reliable.
Yeah.. That's why it would be nice as an option. Or 2 finger tap? Not sure how reliable 2 finger taps would be though.
The first update is scheduled for mid-April and the second will be mid-May. The dodge mechanic is creating trouble for a lot of players right now, so we have some improvements ready for the first update. I have noticed that it is often unresponsive if the second tap of a double-tap is not at the exact same place as the first tap. I would love to hear it, if anyone has found a reliable way to dodge!
Sounds good, thanks! I'll just keep going then, don't feel like putting it aside for 3 weeks or so That could be it, I'll try to pay attention and provide some feedback. What I usually do is attack and then quickly doubletap&hold for a dodge when an unblockable comes my way: swipe - swipe - swipe - doubletap & hold . Considering the speed of the actions, I think it's quite likely that I do not hit the second tap within the area that the games accepts for doubletap trigger. When I take things slow, e.g. against the Summoner's Golem, I almost never have this issue.
I agree Does the character get better defence or strength by leveling, eg getting more relics? What about an update so you can sell obsolete weapons?
Re: Dodge Note: I am righthanded, so all was done on the right half of the screen; on an iPad Air. Just tested, and you can tap pretty much anywhere for the doubletap to register. I even tried first tap at bottom, second at top: worked perfectly fine. I have the impression that some enemy actions have a very short time window to do a dodge. And/or interfere with the doubletap detection. For example: - the "fat Ogre" that folds his arms and then unleashes an energy blast: if I'm off by a hair's breadth, the dodge fails. - Warlord (I think): I replayed stage 19 to get 3 Relics. That guy was the end boss. And boy, did he curbstomp me. As my play up to there was flawless (no HP lost), I don't think it was me having a bad day or such. I could not get the timing for *any* of his special attacks right. I always was a split second too late it seems.
Yeah, I can't tell if sometimes I'm trying to double tap when I'm in a middle of swing and it doesn't register. I'm probably not doing something exact since I can't consistently pull off dodge. For Infinity Blade, I just patiently wait for the right time to parry, then deliberately do the combos. I actually don't dodge too often. But with the block buttons, if I don't block, it usually feels like my block timing is off and not that the block button isn't working. This is totally different than how I play Stormblades. For Stormblades, since "scratch" attacks do damage, I just usually swipe like mad. When I sense I should dodge, I just tap like mad hoping for a dodge to register. Maybe the mad slashing messes with the dodging detection?
Yeah, I'm starting to think button mashing messes with the dodge activation. I was doing that and would fail a lot, but if I tap twice and wait to confirm if I dodged, a lot of the time it would succeed.
Hi Nils, The warrior only improves in strength with a new blade. For now, relics are just tokens of his conquests, but we plan on improving the use of them. I like the idea about selling obsolete weapons! I'll pass that on
More about dodge: I just had a fight against one of the Warrior-types. Already knowing that some of their specials are hard to dodge, I held back on attacking. As soon as I saw the special coming, I did the tap-tap&hold to dodge. For 3 of the specials the dodge didn't register and I took the hit. Same goes for the big Ogre: Twice when he did the "folded arms energy wave" special, dodge didn't work. Third time no problem at all, though. Will try to reproduce it, note the enemy and attacks, etc.
I've had this happen many times as well. I fail to dodge all the time even though I'm double tapping. It's frustrating. Billy

Can you add some permanent bonuses like gold doubler? I'd like to pay for your work but don't want to pay for expendable items like stones.
^^ This I also wouldn't mind a pack with less essence in it then 25,000 With the average price of a sword being around the 3.7k - 4k means that be setting it that high your effectively allowing people to people to buy 8 swords for that pack.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! We're always looking to improve the IAP options, so your ideas are very welcome. If you have any other things you think we could improve, be sure to let me know. We already have a lot of cool features for the first updates, but we are always open to adding more.
An essence doubler would be perfect. I want to contribute towards this game as well but don't care for the expendable IAP either
Some story elements and goals to add to the process more meaning Quests Monster encyclopedia Skills and leveling Button for block (sometimes my iphone not recognizing double tap) Other characters, current is too anime-ish Castle with trophies New environment (aztec is cool, but i'd love to see dark medieval setting)
