Dungeon time definitely. You get so many barrels with attack items your base attack will hardly matter. My favorite is the arc thingy that spews an AoE electric field around you.
Dang, at Dungeon 9 it always crash as soon as my game ends whether because of I die or I complete the level. Seems like 512MB RAM can't cut it anymore. Still, very enjoyable game, wish there are more ways to earn gems.
Does this new version have MFi controller support? I loved the previous game, but what finally made me stop playing it was the virtual stick implementation. It was too easy to lose control of the sticks, requiring me to lift and recenter my fingers on the sticks, which often resulted in death on harder levels.
It has some minor support for this but its not finished. We'll hopefully be adding this in the future with an Apple TV version of the game . No timelines yet, still early days on that front.
Try restarting your device if you crash, clearing cache & sorting memory might help. Not sure if this game is demanding or not. My phone doesn't get hot on the 6 and can play for hours which is awesome. Also: nothing feels more satisfying than opening a chest with a legendary in it. To the person a few pages back, your right. You used to be able to farm a level back and if you survived you'd keep your layout and hearts. The new version seems to reset you back to new layout and 1 heart. I guess that's from preventing us to max hearts on an easy level than continue on to the higher up levels haha. The game apparently also has a new game plus guys! I'm currently maxed out of evolution working on beating last boss. Can't wait for new game plus.
While I did not like what the devs did, I understand why they did it. I got the original game (admittedly while was free, so I can't pass too much judgment on this matter, lol), but when I heard about the original game being pulled in favor of the freemium version, of course I was a little mad. But when I read this topic a little more, I started playing Devil's Advocate. I then felt as sorry for the devs as I did the purchasers of the original version. Then I played Storm Casters Ultra and I saw they were doing the right thing. The game strikes the perfect balance between premium and freemium, sure there are ads, but they are opt in and to your benefit. The game is just as good as I remember it, if not better. I ended up buying the fourth card slot and the Roosterzooka and Disco Bomb cards as a show of support. You have my approval, Get Set Games, and keep up the good work.
Ye everytime I die almost at the end of a stage I whish the game is asking me to watch an ad to keep going lol. I never had that kind of feelings for ads in my entire life.
I understand the move completely, I'm an entrepreneur myself and from a business perspective it was the right thing to do. HOWEVER! You can't alienate early adopters, like, never. And to think it would've been so easy to avoid this situation - just giving them some special skin, card or pack of gems...you don't do that if you care about your customers and word of mouth. This is what ruffled my feathers, not those few euros I paid. The lack of respect and gratitude to people that supported them first. Anyways, I think the most has been said and the discussion should move to the game itself. Plays better than the original, so there's that at least.
I have to say, I forgot how much fun this game is since it's been quite some time since I've played it. I think that the FTP model that the devs adopted is quite fair, and I've easily able to make enough gold to level up my character and get stronger. The only suggestion I would make for the IAP would be...a coin doubler??? That said, I can understand why the "early adopters" would be annoyed, but really, the game was not at all expensive, and many many other games we have all played, spent money on, and enjoyed in past IOS iterations may not work at all now and the devs have gone by the wayside on some of those. I'm sure I'm not the only person on these forums who has spent money on a consumable only to later abandon the game out of boredom or whatever. I can think of a couple games that I spent some money on that got totally nerfed and I deleted them out of frustration. I do not have that problem with this game and I'm glad the devs kept on with it and released a working game.
Well one option would've been to convert the original game to F2P, upgrade it, and give original buyers consumable IAP...
My only request would be to let us listen to our own music while playing. The sound design in this game is great, however I like to listen to music when I'm out. I was sad to find out this isn't possible.
The Disco Bomb is definitely my favorite (I can't describe how awesome it is, you got to see it for yourself), closely followed by the Ember Attack (the dragon Ember joins you in the dungeon as a familiar, firing 50 shots at the enemies before returning to the keep). The Roosterzooka is good for crowd controlling mobs, but it loses it's charm after a while. Death Walker makes life easier on the higher dungeons with it's higher attack and dungeon time bonus, so that easily puts it in third. They pop up at random intervals for each card as you play the game. I was able to get the full set for $4 instead of the normal $8 that way.
