It's really a fun game, kudos to you guys. I'm one of those old and vicious people that would prefer it without the timer so I could take my time killing everything, exploring every corner, and collecting all the loot, though. And would also love a way to be able to be more selective about which cards are active.
Yeah, I turned that off immediately. As my "break" from Wayward it felt like child's play to have that turned on. Great game, and love the cards, but do wish I could pick at least one of them.
This issue is a top priority for us obviously - please get in touch with us directly at [email protected] since it involves a payment. I believe the next update should resolve this, but if not, it'll will be very soon. Thanks - glad you're enjoying the game now that it's (finally) been released! As for floating controls, it's a possibility and a few people have been asking for it, understandably. Our focus right now is stability and performance, but controls are very important too, so we'll be looking into it. That's what I like to hear The stuttering/staggering issue should be an easy fix for a pretty noticeable issue, so expect that in an upcoming update as soon as we can get that fix in. This is a game breaker for sure and we're implementing a fix for it as soon as we can. Expect this in the update following the one that's in QA right now. In the meantime, please get in touch with [email protected] to see if there's something we can do for you specifically. Thanks so much! It's a great way to end the week, that's for sure! We had a great time showing off "Battle Casters" to Jared at GDC back when it was little more than a demo, and it's great to have the final version in people's hands, and to be getting such an amazing response. Storm Casters is ripe for Achievements, and it could add some really cool replayability, so it would be good to add those. Right now we're responding to critical bugs and balancing issues, but once those are covered we'll be back to the fun stuff! I hear ya, as I tend to be that kind of player too. I'm not sure how we could tackle this one though, as the timer and shuffle mechanics have become kind of integral to the game. An "adventure" mode or something like that could work maybe and I'm sure there are interesting ways that deck editing/building could also be added as a separate mode as well, but those would be big updates for sure. We knew we couldn't ship without a true dual stick option otherwise we wouldn't hear the end of it As for picking cards, you can lock cards on the shuffle screen to prevent them from being reshuffled. An option to lock/choose cards on the inventory by paying with a warp stone might work though... AND FOR ANYONE THAT READ THIS FAR -- Here are some tips and tricks from two of our game designers!
Ok. Bought. Played. Hour and a half the very first time I fired it up. Damn, this game is freaking done right! How many chapters are there?
Even though only 3 cards can be picked, there's a chance of others dropping right? Sometimes I can't get weapon cards but it appears I get random drops here & there. That differ from the 3 that are equipped.
Whoa. Never thought of that spin. If you guys made an "Adventure Mode" IAP that let me "build a deck" and run around killing with the timer off, I'd pay another $2.99 for that. That would seriously rule!
Well wtf? I just left my five star review on iTunes, specifically stating that the game hasn't crashed on me, now it's doing exactly what MJ2 did to me, upon starting it instantly goes to the "GetSet" loading screen and just hangs there I un/re-installed to no avail. Restart phone not working. This sucks. I was highly enjoying this game. I'm using an iPhone 5S, iOS 7
Having a blast with the game. But there is one annoying issue. I'm lagging after picking up bombs or power ups! Died couple times because of it.
Also I would love to be able to mix and match the cards myself. It would add a lot of fun trying to find out the best combinations.
There are 5 chapters altogether, adding up to 8-12 hours of play time depending on how you play! Correct - once you get, say, the Painspitter weapon card it becomes unlocked in the game and always has a chance of appearing in the Dungeon. Weapon cards increase the chance of that weapon appearing, but there is always a chance it will appear. Well, now you've got us thinking... Really sorry to hear that rich! Please get in touch with us at [email protected] Thanks for the great write up - as to your point number 2 at the bottom, did you know you can tap a card to lock it on the shuffle screen? That way you can shuffle the other two (or 1) and the cards you've locked won't shuffle. The timer won't be going anywhere soon - it's a core part of the game and many of the cards relate to it. New modes without a timer might be interesting though... This is a known issue and there should be a fix for that in the update after next. There might be ways we can add an option like this, but whatever we do, we don't want to mess too much with the fine balance we have right now in the game. Thanks again for the fantastic comments on the game so far everyone - it would be great to hear about your favorite cards and strategies. Do you have ideas for new cards or features for the game? Let us know!
That sucks man. I am using an iPhone 5, newest iOS, non JB, and I have not had any issues. I am only on the second chapter though.
Loving the game and yes, the timer too. I am also lagging after picking up power ups and also when a bomb detonates, but no crashes so far on ipad 3. Other modes would be a great feature and add to the longevity. Thanks to dev for the forum support. Always good to see. Anyone sat on the fence about this game, just go for it! It's worth it.
Well, I kind of figured it out. After I reinstalled it several times, it works again. Now, when I'm done, I hit the home option (top left) and then close the app out. For some reason this seems to work as opposed to closing the app out from the level select screen. Btw, even though there's no cloud saving the game when re installed saves my progress (hallelujah) but how?
It has me hooked. Great game. This game with updates of new cards, characters & chapters can have a long life. If it is done right this can be a game that will never leave customers devices. I wish you guys all the best with this game. You have a definite HIT. Cheers
Anyone else having problems with this game freezing up on the first loading screen and never going past that screen even after resetting, ect? It did it on my iPod 5, so I downloaded it on my 4S and it's doing it again. Just wondering before I delete and reinstall on my iPhone 5.
