I chose the guy and then when i read the story i pressed back to read the girls story. But accidentally double pressed the screen . Deleted the game and reinstalled but i still cannot choose a character.
One little bug--I bought some of the premium currency, and the counter for it is stuck at 70 even though I've spent it all. So I don't know how much I have earned.
Thanks for the bug reports guys. Even with extensive QA testing, there will always be some issues that surface once the game is out in the wild. We'll keep working to make the game run even smoother - the first update is already in QA right now. Just to be clear - you never see the XP bar move - it's always "full"? Also, are you connected to the internet when you play? We're continuing to optimize the game, especially for older devices, so each update should be smoother. For now, you'll have to stick with Alena, but we are going to add a restart/switch character option very soon. We came across this bug and fixed it already, and that should be in the next update! Just realised I didn't answer your question Zeillusion. We do have plenty of ideas, but a lot of where we go from here will be based on your feedback. Some specific things we'll be adding include a post game restart/character switching option, new cards (obviously) that offer more tactical options, and likely some new enemy types. Again, depending on what we hear from you, we'll prioritise certain features over others, but there's a lot we can do with new cards!
Hi Nick, I don't suppose there's any plans on having an option to remove the timer is there? I can't help but ask - especially considering a bunch of people here are drawing comparisons to Solomon's Keep which I adore. I know it's not polite to make these kinds of requests (it's your game and your mechanics after all) but I'm just throwing it out there.
Yes, exactly. And since I played the first chapter more than one time, I'm under the impression that the leveling (xp-counting) may be a little buggy itself. First it felt like you stuck on level 3 for quite a while, what's a little awkward since level 2 comes so fast. The last time I played though I run through the levels without a rest, finishing the first chapter with level 7. I'm not sure about this beeing buggy though. Maybe playing the first chapter again and again makes you more ... expierienced ... lol Yes, I'am. Tried it with and without. Deinstallated the app, restartet the iphone, reinstalled the app, (everything! is gone), played through some zones or even the complete first chapter - after closing the app I have to start with choosing the character, playing the intro and beeing on level 1 again, while upgrades, money and cards are still there ... I do hope you find a solution for this problem. I'd like to play this game so much! That's torture ... Two more things: I've expierienced the mentioned stuttering too, and yes, it's kind of annoying first, but it becomes quite unbearable, or rather: unplayable, when it comes to flor 10 and your enemies start to wave a pistol around too. And last but not least I missed the possibility to access the character screen on purpose. At least after clearing a zone I'd like to see what cards I can fuse and how much money I can spend in weapon and timer upgrades before starting the next dungeon. So, why are you still sitting there drinking coffee? There's a lot to do ...
The timer was contentious even here in the office, but the game just didn't '"click" in the same way, we felt, without it. There seems to be a balance of people that enjoy the timer aspect vs. people that don't like to feel under pressure. Once you upgrade the timer toward the 1-minute mark and/or get one of the Portal Time extension cards like Strengthen Portal, Sands of Time, Checkered Flag or Epoch Shield things ease up a lot. It's a balance, but as you play you'll find time is much more on your side.
Insane, just insane. This game is absolutely brilliant and has many new ideas that haven't been used in the RPG genre on iOS before. I love the timer element, it adds a new aspect to RPG gaming and personally would be disappointed if you removed this aspect - it doesn't make sense to change the direction of the game. The graphics are amazing, my sort of thing. I'm 26 years old and graphics, whether more realist or cartoon-y can certainly be appreciated and these graphics, for me, blow any of those on iOS RPG games out of the water for the specific type of graphics (i.e. cartoon-like) they are. The card element of the game is amazingly fun and addictive, especially for someone like me who plays Hearthstone quite a lot. It's not quite the same aspect, but the TCG element is there. I'm surprised that someone who left their opinion here said that there was no innovation to the game, clearly they're deluded or just aren't big enough of an RPG fan to appreciate and understand what this game does and how well it does it. I'd like to see this game updated and supported for the long run, are there planned updates at least for the rest of the year? Nick, you guys have done a sterling job and I'd personally like to congratulate you on making me do exactly 0 work today. You've cost me £100 from this £1.49 (or whatever it is) game, you wretchous time thieves!
Oh, the XP bar is always full for me too regardless of whether my device is connected to the web or not.
We're looking into this error right now . Thanks for letting us know Nekku, and thanks for the additional info srtmxx Wow! Thank you so much. We're blown away by the response so far, and we're more than happy to be responsible for your lost productivity! On that note, here's an AMAZING REVIEW from Gamezebo that just came in. "Storm Casters is what youd get if Disney designed Diablo, and spilled it in a vat full of Spelunky and Hearthstone. Its every loot-gathering dungeon-crawling, card-collecting fans next transit addiction. Its quite simply the best two dollars youll spend on the App Store in a long while."
Great!! Ok so I knuckled down and bought this because it picqued my interest too much to pass up. I am thoroughly enjoying this. Unlike most it seems as reading the thread, I really like the timer on the stage and the fact that you have only 1 heart starting out. I think if you had more than that you would most likely just run all the way through every level(what's the fun in that) I think it adds the hardcore factor. Also the timers are pretty cool, now albeit I have literally ported out while picking the lock on one of the blue treasure chest I was sooo close but I think that is fun not annoying. All in all the little staggering I get everyonce in a while sucks but I'm sure it'll be fixed in the next update. The cards are pretty AWESOME too. I got a couple Epics that gain XP or Loot or Chest drops. All in all very entertaining and a great short poop break game or smoke game while at work or while at home (hiding from my kids in my silent throneroom) Edit: The game must have heard me because I just pulled my first legendary from a chest I picked up in zone 5 Woot Woot!!!
BUG: I purchased the £2.99 warp pack, then bought a pack of cards, but had also collected plenty before-hand. My warp stones now say that i have 90 of them, then when try to buy a Storm Caster's legendary pack, it says i don't have enough warp stones. Now, when i collect more warp stones it stays at 90. So basically i can no longer collect cards and i've spent money on the 10 packs and, well, i can't use them? Have i just wasted a load of money? Seems like a ridiculous bug to me.
Floating Controls? Nickfury, Any word on floating controls? I have smaller hands and I feel like I have to stretch my hands wide to move the controls. I could really use the controls more towards the borders of my iPad. Other than that, keep up the good work! The game is really great! I enjoy playing it and I have been waiting for it to come out!
Floating controls would be nice OR even enlarging the contact area. There are times I lose control of my character because I've drug my finger to far out and it's required you actually remove your thumb and place it back to work correctly. I've also been playing on an IPad Mini 1 and suffer from staggering, it feels like a memory leak more than hardware performance. All that being said, this game is fun and I'm heading back to play some more
Don't know if this has been brought up yet but I'm encountering a game breaking bug here. If you fail to accumulate enough gold in your tutorial run through then the game gets stuck at the point where it asks you to convert gold into time. I've tried deleting and reinstalling then launching in airplane mode but the game just resumes at the same stuck point.
@nickfury Any chance you'll be incorporating GameCenter to Storm Casters? All your other games have nice GC features and think it might serve this game just as well.
